-Albert Pujols, who is quickly overtaking Barry Bonds as biggest dick in baseball, said he deserved the MVP because Howard's Phillies did not make the playoffs. I guess he forgot that if the Phillies were in the NL Central, the Cards would not have made the playoffs. Do not get me wrong, I think Pujols should have win, but be a gracious loser, don't be a jackass about it.
-Bobby Bonilla is on the Hall of Fame Ballot. He is on the Pirates website as if he is a contender. I love that the Pirates fail to mention that Ripken, Gwynn, and even McGwire are on the ballot.
-Ohio State men's BB lost last night to UNC, but that was without Greg Oden, so I guess that loss really does not matter.
-My fantasy football team did not make the playoffs. Kevin is giving us four losers a chance to earn our money back by finishing with the most points this season. I probably have no chance of winning, but who knows.
-Derek Jeter is a fag. He has his own fragrance called Driven. It has nice girly smells like oak moss and grapefruit.

The Proposition

Last night I watched The Proposition, starring Guy Pearce, directed by John Hillcoat, and written by musician Nick Cave. The movie is a western, although unlike most traditional westerns, it is set in Australia.
Guy Pearce plays Charlie Burns who is caught at the beginning of the movie, along with his little brother. He is given a proposition, he must go out, find and kill his older brother, Arthur. If he does not, then Captain Stanley (Ray Winstone)will hang his little brother.
During Charlie's quest, we learn what it was Arthur did to be considered the baddest of the bad in Australia. What makes this movie great, is that we never really learn much of Charlie. He is quiet and concerned with saving his younger brother. In a typical western, Captain Stanley would have been the villain. He would have been the Army commander who has an evil motive for sending Charlie out, but this is not the case in this movie. The captain is a good man, who is trying desperately to civilize the land.
Another bright spot in the film is Stanley's wife, played by Emily Watson. She fits into the movie so well, she helps us really like Captain Stanley, and hope nothing ill to befall him.
I will end this by saying more westerns should be shot in Australia. The landscape and sunsets were awesome. Also, Nick Cave's music was great, kind of creepy, but still made each scene flow together.

Heroes Part Ten
Let me tell ya all about this episode. The episode was titled "Six Months Ago." You can imagine what it was about. The show starts where the last one ended, with Hiro arriving back in time at the diner to save Charlie. He tries to explain to her that he is from the future, but she does not listen to him. He gets a job as a busboy there, and buys her the phrasebook which she referenced the first time we meet her. He buys her and him tickets to visit Japan. The day they are to leave, she tells him about a blood clot in her brain that she has, and that she is dying. She tells Hiro that she loves him, and he goes to kiss her, but ends up teleporting back to Japan. He is on a roof, with his coworkers doing calisthenics. One of them asks why he is not with Ando in America...
Matt pulls over a chick in a Ferrari, and it turns out to be Eden. She was drinking and says she stole the car. He asks her to step out of the car, but she uses her cool voice power to make him sit in his car and eat donuts. The Haitian is seen in front of her car, and the next time we see them is with Mr. Bennett. She tries to use the voice on him, but it does not work. He tells her she can leave and probably wind up dead, or she can use her powers for him...
We find Chandra in NYC seeking out a humble watch-maker. The kid listens to his watch and says it is broken. He says he can hear when things are broken (similar to one of the Inhumans powers, which is to look at things and see their flaws.) Chandra runs tests on him, but cannot find any abnormality. Gabe explains how he used to wish he was extraordinary, that he would even make up new names for himself. Chandra tells him he is not special, and Gabe gets angry and leaves, but first takes the address of one Chandra's files.
Gabe calls the man, and he visits him at his shop. The guy can move objects with his mind. Gabe remembers Chandra saying that the key was the brain, and he says he can hear the problem in his brain. He grabs a blunt object and kills the man (his name was Brian, I think, which is an anagram of brain...) The name Gabe gave Brian is Gabrielle Sylar. He then visits with Chandra and shows him his new telekinetic powers. He seems very excited to help Chandra track down the rest.
Before that, Chandra called Mr. Bennett and he comes to NYC to discuss things with Chandra. Mr. Bennett says he will consider talking to his daughter about trying to figure out if she has powers. Mr. Bennett is learning she does have powers, because she has a fight with Jackie, and accidentally breaks a window. She gets stitches, and when she is talking to her dad, who says Jackie is a bitch, they take a look at the cut, and it is completely healed. Mr. Bennett sends Eden to NYC to make sure Claire's name is off Chandra's list.
Peter graduates from nursing school and Nathan, Mommy Dearest, and Nathan's Hot Wife (who is not in a wheelchair) show up for the party. Nathan talks to Peter about how the DA wants him to try and go after Linderman, especially since Linderman has connections to their father. When Nathan and Wife leave the party, Nathan is driving and a big truck tries to ram his car off the road. His ability to fly kicks in and he flies above the vehicles, causing his car to crash. Peter wakes up and his phone rings, he then rushes to the hospital. He knows there was another car involved. Nathan says how his wife is in surgery, and he thinks it was Linderman's men. He wants Peter to give a deposition about their father, and he agrees to it. The day of the deposition, Nathan shows up at Peter's and tells him it will not be happening because their father had a heart attack.
Niki is an alcoholic. At a meeting, she sees her father and he says he wants to meet Micah. Later she goes to a graveyard and DL comes to see her. She says she misses Jessica, her sister. Her father comes over and apologizes for things he did when he was drunk. Niki does not remember what he did that was so bad. He gives Micah a laptop and says he will pay for his tuition at a private school. When he goes to see how Micah is coming along with the laptop, he finds Micah taking it apart and he freaks out. DL and Niki tell him not to yell at Micah and Pappy gets mad and leaves. Niki shows up at her dad's house and says that she is actually Jessica. Jessica takes over Niki whenever her dad would come to beat her, which is why Niki does not remember any of it. She lifts him with one arm by the throat and throws him to the bed. She gives him back his check and tells him to stay away from Niki.
Matt is sitting in his car eating donuts when his old partner (the guy banging his wife) pulls up and tells him to take the Detective Test. He goes home and his wife wakes up and he says he failed the test. He says how he is a joke because he can barely read and words appear backwards to him. She says he is her hero, but he shrugs it off, this is probably the point where she starts banging his friend.
Hiro makes it back to the diner and Ando hugs him. Ando asks if he teleported back, and Hiro says no, he took the bus. Ando asks why he does not go back and try to fix it again, but Hiro says no, he cannot go back and change time. This makes me wonder if he could not teleport because the timestream would not allow it? I think Einstein postulated that if you went back in time, you would not be able to change it, something would happen that not allow you to change time.
I think I was right about how Sylar eats the brains, or at least whatever the broken part is. Does anyone have any thoughts on the Haitian's powers? Does he negate powers? This was supposed to tell us more about Jessica and Niki's powers, but all it does is bring up more questions. Is Niki crazy? Did she somehow absorb the soul of Jessica, who had superstrength?
I had not noticed, but I guess the number 9 is significant. In an interview with CBR the writers say that people need to try and look into the number nine. You all should check out the article. Anyways, as always let me know what you think.

Wolverine

This special Thanksgiving post is about a comic I read last night, Wolverine #48. The story was written by Marc Guggenheim with pencils by Humberto Ramos. The story was pretty cool, it dealt with Logan's near-death experiences. How everytime he gets blown up, his soul starts to go toward the light, but he is always compelled to return.
I should say this book is worth picking up for Ramos' art. He has come such a long way since his days on Impulse and Spectacular Spider-Man. He has a bit of a cartoony feel, but makes it work with the utter brutality of Wolverine's character. It was also an interesting take on how Wolverine deals with trauma.
Anyways, he finishes retelling his story, and it ends up it was with some chick from Atlantis who he just slept with. He knows why he never goes to the light, but as he leaves it, that is another secret he will keep to himself. It definitely made me want to continue reading the book, which I will since Kenny keeps buying it.
Happy Thanksgiving, I will stop forcing comics down your throats now.

Heroes Part Nine
Holy balls! This was such a great episode. Where do I even start? Let me start with saying that the first eight episodes led up to this point, we finally get to save the cheerleader and hopefully save the world.
Claire wins homecoming queen because Zach campaigned for her and got her the freak vote. It was funny to hear him say the unpopular are the majority, mainly because should not the majority of people decide what is popular? But alas, that is not how society works...anyways, sorry about that. I guess a romance between Zach and Claire is out, since he is gay. Or maybe she will get him to switch teams, who knows. It was great seeing Claire punch Jackie, even though it was one of the worst screen punches ever. It still made me laugh, and that is all that counts.
Nathan finally receives Isaac's painting from Linderman. He is with Simone, and he dumps paint all over it in order to protect Peter from getting hurt. When Peter comes by Simone shows him a picture of the painting, and we see Peter lying in front of the high school and he appears to be dead at 8:14.
Peter calls Hiro, but gets Ando instead. Peter tells him that he is catching a flight to Texas and Hiro should meet him. Unfortunately Hiro is still not back from his time jumping adventure. Ando notices the picture and asks the waitress about Hiro. She says that Charlie and Hiro were "real tight." But, he skipped out a few weeks prior.
Eden refuses to inject Isaac with anymore drugs since his last painting does not seem to help them out. Mr. Bennett is angry and shows her pictures of what Syler can do, and he tells her that he will not let that happen to Claire. His method of protection? He grounds Claire, but not to fear, Zach comes to her rescue. Mr.B finds out and has to make his way to the school. At this time, Peter meets Ando, but still has no Hiro, and Peter informs Ando about his own bizarre power. So basically they are two normal guys, but Peter is still going to "save the cheerleader, save the world, probably die." I think they should have added that to the mantra...
When Peter meets Claire, he is looking for Jackie since she was the town hero and Peter assumes she is the cheerleader he is meant to save. They have a nice discussion about the future and how life is better after high school. It was quite touching. It did tell us something though, Peter does not sense when he is around another HERO(I cannot think of a better word, and do not want to say mutant or freakshow...) Maybe someday he will notice changes, like a spidey-sense, but instead it would be his hero-sense.
Claire admits to Jackie that she was the one who saved the guy in the train wreck. Then the power goes out and Claire realizes they are not alone in the locker room. Syler comes and bats Claire out of the way and we see her slam into the wall and basically die. Syler also thinks Jackie is whom he seeks. He uses his mind-cutting power to slice her skull open, and then notices Claire healing herself.
He tosses Jackie aside like she was nothing but a five dollar crack whore, and not that there is anything wrong with crack whores, but c'mon Syler likes his chicks real freaky. So, bad jokes aside, Peter sees Claire and tells her to run. Syler starts tossing locker doors at Peter with his mind. I guess he was not close enough to Syler to absorb any of his power because he turns and runs. Peter and Syler fight and both fall of the bleachers, and we see Peter in the position from the painting.
Claire comes back to Peter, and he starts to absorb her power and he begins to heal himself. Unfortunately Syler is already gone. Claire goes to get help and runs into her dad. He says the cops will help out and she informs him that she has a secret. The cops show up, but they arrest Peter, which I am sure they will get things sorted out when Matt shows up and reads his mind that he is not Syler.
We then see Syler running into the woods and Eden is standing there looking real sexy. She definitely has some power because she tells Syler to sleep and he just goes down. Or maybe the Haitian just drugged him, I could not really tell.
The episode ends with Ando getting another cop of coffee and then the flash back six months earlier and we see Hiro getting coffee from Charlie and it is on her birthday. He tells her that he is there to save her life. So we are going to get to see where Hiro has been and what he has learned.
If you have noticed, I did leave some things out. Like DL and Micah's story, as well as Mohinder. Their stories did not seem to mesh well with the episode. There was the gravity of trying to get to Claire, and then two other side stories. But do not fear, I will still discuss them.
Mohinder tells his friend that the boy, Sanjog Iyer, has been visiting him in his dreams. He knows now that his father Chandra had found one of them, and his power is that of a dream guide. Mohinder finds the kid playing soccer and Sanjog informs him that he does not go into people's dreams, instead people come to him in dreams for answers. Mohinder asks what path he should take, but Sanjog gives the reply you already have your answer. Mohinder has another dream, and does anyone notice how much he falls asleep while working at his desk? What a slacker. He sees his father having the same argument with Nirand (his friend from earlier) about how he should not go down this path. Did it seem to anyone else that Nirand was trying really hard to get Chandra and Mohinder not to research this? Does he have some sinister connection with Linderman, or maybe Mr. Bennett?
Mohinder also sees an argument he had with his father about how he wanted to help him with his research and Chandra tells him no. Mohinder realizes now his father was trying to protect him. When he wakes up, the computer program asks if he wants to quit, he hits no and a password pops up. He tries a few things, then tries Shanti (which I was screaming at the TV). It is correct and it gives him a list of all the people with special powers. Did anyone notice one of them was from Frostburg, Maryland? My uncle lives close to Frostburg, and no I do not think he was the one with powers. Anyways, Mohinder decides to continue his father's work and tells his mom that he is going to NYC.
Micah and DL had a pretty lame story. They talk for a bit, Micah informs him that Niki is sick, and then he tells DL about Jessica. They decide they will go back and try to save her. Micah then says how he had already told Niki where they were at. DL gets scared and starts to get in the car, as we pan back and see the camera like a rifle scope and there is Jessica holding the rifle she purchased. This thing can pierce armor at 400 yards, and as long as DL cannot see it coming he cannot phase through it, right? She pulls the trigger and the scene ends.
I did not like when Jessica bought the gun, the dude is like "two large." She tosses him a roll of bills. So she just happened to have $2000 in her back pocket rolled up? Did the guy count it? I would. I am going to start paying for things like that. I will go to Best Buy and get a new stereo. At the register they will be like "That'll be $2200." And I will just toss the guy a roll of money, mostly ones, with like one hundred dollar bill on the outside. Think that will fly, I bet not my friends.
Also, IMDB has taken Sean Bean's name off of Heroes. So I guess he was not Syler. The preview did not look like him at all, which I will post the preview later this week.
Okay, let me wrap this up. Actually it is wrapped up. It is now your turn to tell me what you thought.

Idiot Fans
It looks like the Eagles season is over. Donovan McNabb is injured for the season, which is great for normal people everywhere because Philly fans will fade from existence.
It is funny how Steelers fans and Eagles fans have one thing in common: they both give up on their teams when they are losing. After thinking about it, I decided to list things I hate, and like, about both groups.
Eagles Fans
-I think we can all agree, girls who like football are hot! Eagles chicks are generally much better looking than Steelers girls. No offense to any Steelers girls, but on average Eagles girls are much better looking.
-That being said, Eagles girls are so goddamn annoying, it actually make me sick. They never say anything intelligent. They just spew stupidity.
-E-A-G-L-E-S, EAGLES! I hate chants. This one is the worst. You can spell, good for you cocksmack. Shut up and let me enjoy the game.
-They jump on and off bandwagons better than anyone. When T.O. was supposedly going to Baltimore, a coworker and avid (IDIOT) Eagles fan told everyone that it would be terrible because T.O. would bring any team down. What happened when he come to Philly? Superbowl talk and how T.O. was the best receiver ever, blah blah blah.
Steelers Fans
-Also have some really stupid fans. People who sit around screaming at TVs about clear cut penalties. I know people who do this, they will scream about someone being called for holding, that the refs are blowing the game, yet you can clearly see the lineman basically picking up a defender.
-They say dumb things like "One for the thumb." Or their witty retort to Eagles fan is always the same, about how they have five championships. First off, you do not have any rings. Secondly, if you were born after 1980, you did not witness them win anything until last year, and it was not a spectacular victory.
Well that is about all I have for now. Tell me what you do not like about either fanbase, or what you like.

Today
I think after today I am going to change the hours I work on the weekends. Since football will be over I might as well not work such crappy shifts like 9-7, maybe work like 9-4, or 11-8. Who knows, last night Ryan's friend told us he is hiring servers at Red Lobster. That would be cool, work there at night, and work at Hell in the mornings. Who knows though.
Football today: Ohio State vs. Michigan. The game of the century or some crap like that...wasn't that last year (USC/Texas)? I hope Michigan beats them, but it ends up really close. I wonder how bad that will screw up the polls. What I do not understand, if this game ends up close, how can the loser drop anywhere past #2? College football needs a playoff, that is all there is to it.
Penn State should beat MSU pretty easily today. Key word there is SHOULD. The offense is so bad though who knows.
When I come home tonight I am probably going to watch the movie The Proposition. It is a western with Guy Pearce, should be really good. Maybe I will write about it, probably not though.
Anyways, this was the most pointless post ever.

Fast Times
Watch this video, it's a short film parody of Fast Times at Ridgemont High. My favorite part was of Thor stoned and smashing his hammer of his skull.

Heroes Preview Next Week
Since I usually do not get a chance to talk about the preview for Heroes, I decided to go to YouTube and find this one. We are told that we will find out what it means to "save the cheerleader, save the world."
Peter Petrelli is who we see trying to save Claire. We also see Niki (Jessica) carrying an assault rifle. Isaac throwing some black paint on a canvas. Will Mr. Bennett work with our "heroes" to save his daughter? And then try to round them up in order to study them?

Random Thoughts
There is nothing better than waking up and reading something that makes you almost piss yourself laughing.
"I appreciate a good boot and rally. That's part of the reason why bulimic girls are so sexy. The other part is they're not fat."-With Leather
Also having to put up with ESPN constantly talking about Bob Knight smacking one of his player's chins for not looking at him while getting chewed out, has gotten to the point of just idiotic. Who really cares? Plus the kid is over 18, he needs to be smacked around. Plus he chose to go to Texas Tech, which is in Lubbock, which from what I understand, smells extremely bad.

Heroes Part Eight
Tonight's episode was quite interesting, in that we are starting to learn more and more, and supposedly it is going to start tying together. I will try a different approach tonight, I will discuss each character's stories, and then talk about my own theories.
Mohinder
The episode started with Mohinder spreading his father's ashes back home in India. A friend tells him that he is welcome back to Chennai University when classes start back up. At his office, some hot Indian chick comes in and starts telling him that she is working for some genetics company and that Mohinder should come and interview for a job, but he would have to not mention his father's work. Anyone notice that Mohinder gets all sorts of chicks? Mohinder dreams about an argument between he and his father. Mohinder thinks he is foolish for going to NYC, and that he will end up driving a taxi. Mohinder meets some weird kid during his dream. Mohinder’s mom tells him that he had a sister, Shanti, who died. Chandra thought the girl was special.
Mohinder again sees little kid in his father’s office and he then chases him outside. He sees his father murdered inside of his taxi cab. The little kid hands him a key, which was the key inside his father’s book found in a previous episode. Mohinder searches his father’s desk and finds a folder on Iyer Sanjog. He sees a picture of the boy from his dreams, and also sees articles about sleep research revealing new areas of brain.
Hiro and Ando
At the Burnt Toast Diner, Hiro and Ando meet a waitress named Charlie. She has the ability to remember anything she reads. When we first see her we witness her answering all sorts of hard questions for cops about the crossword puzzle and old movies. She impresses Hiro and Ando by speaking a little Japanese after reading a Japanese phrase book about a week ago.
She flirts with Hiro while he teaches her Japanese. She says how her brain seems to be able to remember anything, and Hiro says he also has a power, but then jokes that it is teaching anyone Japanese. We see Syler sitting in the corner, and he makes his glass move towards him with only his mind. She is in the back when Syler attacks her. The cops inform Hiro and Ando that her head was ripped off and her brain removed. Hiro says he must go back in time and save her and that she was killed the same way as Isaac was in the future. Ando is against him going back, he tells him that he still cannot really control his teleportation, but Hiro will not hear it. He says when he disappears and Ando counts to five, that he will have returned. Ando counts to five, and Hiro does not disappear. We then see a photo hanging on the wall, originally in the episode it was Charlie by herself at her birthday, but this time Hiro is with her in the photo.
Isaac, Claire, Eden, and Mr. Bennett
Eden cleans Isaac up, gives him a sexy shave. Why is that Eden is always using her sexiness on someone? And why is it never me? Anyways...She says she can teach him to paint without the drugs. Eden says she went through the same thing herself. Does she mean heroin? Or does she have some kind of power as well? I bet it is super-sexiness.
Claire’s dad works at a paper company, but below it is where they are holding Isaac. Mr. Bennett tells Isaac that the cheerleader is his daughter. He says that Syler is going to kill her tomorrow at the homecoming game. Syler is killing them one at a time and Mr. Bennet knows who he is, just does not know where or when he will strike next. Mr. Bennett offers Isaac drugs in order to complete the paintings. Mr. Bennett explains how they have been tracking special people. Sometimes people misinterpret their motives. Fourteen years ago, did he say they stabbed a woman to death? She left behind a baby girl, that he adopted.
Isaac wants to try and paint without the drugs, one more time. Claire visits her dad at work in order to get some really large paper. Eden comes out and sees Claire, and tells Mr. Bennett they have a situation. Claire leaves and Eden says that Isaac cannot do it. Mr. Bennett wants Eden to get Isaac to use heroin, and he tells her that she is the easy way. She is against it, and Mr. Bennett reminds her that he was the one who taught her and to remember what she was before he found her. We see at the end Isaac painting while high. Claire and her dad have a nice little bonding moment.
Matt and Audrey
Audrey is pretty upset with Matt for punching a fellow officer. She wants him to help her interview the radiation dude. She finds it weird that there are 3 people out there with weird powers, Matt, Syler, and now Radiation Boy. When they interview him he gets angry and their radiation meters start turning red, which is bad I guess.
It turns out Matt and he had similar situations, where they both blacked out and woke up with bruises. He tells the story about a night at a bar, he blacks out and then wakes up with his powers. He saw a Haitian in the bar. Matt also thinks he saw the same guy when he blacked out.
Matt goes home and his wife is looking at pictures. She knows he punched Tom. He admits it, and she starts thinking that Matt knows. Matt says he was suspended for one month without pay, that is when she admits to sleeping with Tom. Matt does not know if things will be alright or not between them. Audrey calls and says Radiation Boy escaped.
Theories
The little kid from Mohinder's dream was probably Iyer Sanjog. I bet he has some kind of projection powers. He can enter people's dreams. I wonder if Mohinder has some kind of power?
Hiro went back in time, obviously far enough back in time to befriend Charlie. We see him in the picture with her on her birthday. Sadly though, she will still die at the hands of Syler. This will probably be where Hiro learns more about his powers, he and Charlie can explore them together, if she reads enough about quantum mechanics, she can figure out how he can control his powers. Also, if he goes in time and hangs out with Charlie, I am sure she will help him learn better english.
It seems I was right that Mr. Bennett knew Claire would eventually have powers. I do not know if he is a good guy or bad guy though. I would imagine they are bad, they want to monitor and track people with powers, but they also want to control them. Look at what they did to Matt and Radiation Boy, they marked them and did weird things to them.
I think Audrey has a thing for Matt, I bet they sleep together. Also, if you check IMDB you will see that Sean Bean aka Boromir, is Syler. That kind of hurts the theories that Syler is Peter from the future, but it does not hurt the idea that Peter's father is Syler.

Did the Retard Escape?
Last night I went and saw the movie Borat. It was hilarious. I recommend this to anyone who has ever seen Da Ali G Show. I am not going to say much about it, but want to remind anyone who watches it that the people he talks to are real, they are not actors. He (Sacha Baron Cohen) had the cops called him 91 times during filming.
Some Great Parts:
-Running of the Jews
-The Polite Dinner Party
-The Nude Battle
-Borat Singing the National Anthem
-The Hillbilly Telling Him Why He Should Shave His Mustache
-Dumb Frat Guys
-Okay, the Entire Movie
Dinner Host: I called the police.
Borat: Why? Did the retard escape?
Anyways, if you have seen it, let me know what you thought.

Spider-Man 3
Here is the Spider-Man 3 Trailer. Tell me it does not make you want to pee your pants in excitement???
One of my favorite parts of the preview is when Spidey is holding Sandman's face against the train, and you see the tiny bits of being smashed off his face. Thomas Hayden Church looks awesome as Sandman.
Here is my prediction: Harry (Green Goblin II) will kill MJ. In the original comics Norman (GGI) killed Gwen Stacy. But, Gwen was introduced long before MJ. Peter was dating Gwen. When Stan Lee killed her off people were outraged, but it helped shape Peter's life even more. If they were to do a fourth movie, which I am sure they will, killing MJ would lead us down a whole new set of stories.
Anyways, this movie should turn out fantastic. Raimi has done an amazing job, and I only wish every comic movie franchise would strive for the perfection as he does.

Why You Would Be a Good/Fun Friend:
What is this about you ask? Well I have basically no friends up here anymore. I have Kacie, but sometimes I want to just chill with someone and yeah I have a few people I work with, but that is about it. So this is my friend application. If you think you are worthy of being my friend, fill this out and I will judge accordingly. Also, I am not in the market for anymore friends who blow me off all the time, or who only wants to do the same thing night after night. This is in no way a knock against my current group of friends, which includes two guys and a few girls. So yeah, I would probably prefer a few more guy friends, to ya know, watch sports, drink beer, and whatnot. Also, this only has to do with the folks in State College, people outside of State are exempt because obviously it is much harder for us to do things together.

Lost: Episode 306
This was the last episode until February. Did it seem to anyone else that the commercials were really long this episode? I am sure it was still the normal 42 minutes, but it felt like they were going to commercial many times. Anyways onto what I thought.
First we start with Locke and the group over on Eko's side. Locke tells the group they will bury Eko where they found him, since everyone else in the group was having too many funerals. Locke tells everyone that he will go get shovels, and Sayid tells him he should not go alone. Locke informs Charlie, Hurley, Sayid, Paulo, and the extremely gorgeous Nikki that it was probably a bear or another animal that killed Eko. When Locke and Sayid are away, Sayid asks what killed Eko. Locke informs him that it was what everyone calls the Monster. They go on about it for a bit and it really was nothing too important. As they bury Eko, Locke tells a crappy prayer and starts to use the Jesus Stick as a headstone, he sees one of the inscriptions, it says something like "open your eyes, and look North." Also, under it was the name John. Which would be attributed to the book of John quote that is above it, but because of the angle, it seems like it is meant for John...and since we all know that Locke believes everything is connected and happens for a reason, he now has a new obsession.
Anyways, lets get to the really good stuff. Jack is explaining the situation to Ben about how the tumor is expanding and the surgery needs to happen soon. Then he tells them how he will not do it. Juliet brings Kate to see Jack. There is a great little reunion, until Kate starts telling Jack that he must do the surgery or they will kill Sawyer. SuperStubbornJack screams a bunch and tells her to leave.
Once Kate realizes that Sawyer is going to die, she sneaks out of her cage and tries to break Sawyer out. He then explains to her that they are on yet another island. She kisses him and then they start going at it like wild monkeys on X. I guess Allison and whoever else said Sawyer would be the first to score with Kate was right.
Someone lets Jack out of his room and he sneaks into the control room (was it Juliet, or Russo's daughter), where he grabs a gun and then sees the monitor of Kate and Sawyer snuggling. Ben comes from behind and tells him he always thought Jack would be the one to get Kate. Jack informs they will do the surgery tomorrow, but only if they get him off the island.
During surgery, Picket leaves to go kill Sawyer. He has him out of the cage and on his knees. But, at that moment, Jack saves the day. He cuts Ben's kidney sack and informs everyone that Ben has one hour to live. He gets them to call Picket and he gives the walkie talkie to Kate. Jack informs her to go, that she will be safe for an hour. His last word before the end of the episode was "RUN!"
The flashback sequence this episode was about Kate. How she was once married to a cop, and her name was Monica. The cop was Nathan Fillion, from Serenity/Firefly. Kate was extremely happy and then she had to go and mess it up. She called the marshall who was tracking and asked him to leave her alone. He says he would, if she can stay put and settle down. He then tells her that he knows she cannot. And sure enough, as domestic bliss settles in, Kate freaks and decides to poison good ol' Kev. This was one of those flashbacks that really shows us why Kate is the way she is. Has the island changed her? Is she willing to finally stop running and just settle down? Could Sawyer be the guy worth not running for.
The preview shows Jack threatening everyone in the room saying that he will let Ben die. Desmond telling Hurley that he does not understand the things he has seen or where he has been. I would like to think the second part of the season will give us answers to a few questions, but somehow I really doubt it. After reading what Damon Lindelof said in the introduction to Robert Kirkman's comic, Invincible. He says:
"I like my stories complicated and sprawling. I want surprises. I want to be rewarded for being a loyal reader."
I think that gives you an idea of what we are in for. He will draw this out, give us tons of plot lines, and when he wraps one up, we will not notice because we will have twenty others to think about.

Heroes Part Seven
The episode started with Peter and Simone's dad talking, and Peter telling him he could fly. He jumps out of the window and the camera soars around NYC and then Peter wakes up. Claire's nerd friend finds the tape, which probably means her dad put it back. Unfortunately for Claire her little brother might decide to watch it.
Niki wakes up and realizes that Micah is gone. It was like a two minute scene of her looking around and then telling the red headed slut that Micah was gone. Sorry, but I am not really that interested in her story anymore, although she is still hot.
Matt was about to tell his wife about his powers, and then she starts thinking crazy things like "oh no, how does he know." He decides to just go to work. I bet she has an STD.
Did anyone notice the Motorola commercial that Bo Bice sang for? I guess he was too good for Eat 'n Park, but not too good for Motorola. What a loser. Sorry, I usually do not watch commercials, but just feel like it today.
Okay, Claire's brother stapling her was great. What better way to test if your sister is a freak than by shooting her with a staple gun. It works out for him too, if she is not a freak then he gets to laugh at her staple scar. If she is a freak then he at least knows the truth.
How anticlimatic. Syler is some dude. I hope that it turns out to be fake, and that there is some twist to who he is. At least Clea DuVall is back, I think I am the only one who is attracted to her, but oh well.
Oh yeah, and something else, how is Linderman connected to everything? Did you notice that he is the one who bought the painting of Isaacs? Plus gave Nathan money. He is most likely bad, but still has something to do with everything.
DL and Hiro helping the car crash folks was pretty damn sweet. I enjoyed watching DL slip his hand into the glass. Hiro still cracks me up, "why couldn't I have super-strength too." Hiro's power has been the hardest to convince everyone of so far, since when he stops time, only he can move through it.
Nathan's wife is a crip, and not like the gang members, but in a wheelchair. It seems like Nathan was driving and must have wrecked, which caused her to be in the chair. Great to see that Nathan is so ashamed of his brother that he gets angry that he shows up for imaginary everyday brunch. Peter was great though, saying they should fly around the Statue of Liberty. Then telling the writer that he got an earful for wearing cords. Hopefully Nathan will help him get ahold of Linderman.
Matt and Clea go to see Syler, but he is not home. I think Clea must be kind of an embarassment to the FBI, since she does not have backup or some taskforce. Now Syler's power consists of being able to burn things with radiation? They will need Peter to get near him and use his powers against him, especially if Hiro comes around and freezes time. If they combine, all of them, they would really be great fighting together.
Claire and Zack get her brother out of the SUV. He gives up the tape when Claire explains they will not be family anymore. Zack did not really help the situation, but he made me laugh, especially when he says they are going to anal probe him.
Peter was great when lying to the reporter about why they went to Vegas. I guess Nathan will have to help him now.
The Sprague guy was not Syler. Good thing too, but he is also one of our superpeople. He gives off radiation, he can burn people or whatever. But, Matt proves to be the hero by reading his wife's mind. The guy settled down, but then she died, so who knows.
Niki/Jessica threatens the Red-Headed Slut after breaking the mirror. I guess Jessica will start tracking DL now, I wonder if she has the strength to lift a bus. I would love to see her toss a bus at DL and him pass through it. Although I doubt that this show has the budget for that one.
Matt called his wife and actually talked to her, well the machine, and actually said how he felt without reading her mind. Hopefully, everything will be fine.
Nathan tells Peter about the kidnapping, and Peter does not believe him, how odd that he wants everyone to believe him, but will not believe his brother was kidnapped and that people may want to hurt them.
Whoa, I knew Micah was one of them. He has some connection to machines. He also knows about Jessica and that she is not her mom. DL vs. Niki part zwei. This time she is going in ready, lock and load bitches. Sorry, I listened to Denis Leary the other day...
Matt finds out that his friend/partner is banging his wife and the punches the dude in the mouth. I wonder how he will handle this with his wife? Plus, Clea got him another exam for detective, and some special interview. Maybe they could team and be like the X-Files.
On a side note, it is Tim Sale who does the paintings for the show. Tim Sale is an extraordinary comic artist. He is best known for his work with Jeph Loeb on Spider-Man: Blue, Daredevil: Yellow, and Hulk: Grey. Also, their monumental Batman: The Long Halloween and Dark Victory stories were incredible, as was Superman: For All Seasons.

Again, I did not see the preview for the next episode. Will they be going on hiatus? Did they only shoot the first seven episodes in case the show tanked? On IMDB it originally said that most of the actors only filmed seven. Hopefully we do not have to wait too long for another episode.

Weekend
This was a pretty good weekend. Well for the most part anyways. Friday I worked 11-8. I did okay, made decent money, but then lost some of it while playing poker over at Ryan and Stef's. It was still fun though because Offord came back up to town and we got to hang out. Sometimes I really hate playing poker with Adam though. He beat me on a couple of hands, and it was actually good playing on both of our parts, but he did beat others by just catching cards on the river, and by calling large bets when he had absolutely nothing. Oh well, I am not going to bitch about how his play can get annoying.
Saturday I worked 9-7, which really sucked since I got to sleep around 4:30. Work sucked. First because I was stuck in smoking and made no money, then I was thrown into section one, which is usually the geriatric section. What really sucked was the people I had to work with over dinner. Ryan and I (the two best servers on during that time) were stuck in small sections, while crappy servers were in the bigger ones. These morons all went under and were screaming and complaining about being super busy. I still made almost $55 in two and a half hours, which is not bad, but I only had $30 from the entire time before dinner.
After work, Stef said she would call me and we would go to Chili's to drink and split something to eat and visit Kacie. I knew Stef was probably asleep, so I decided to just go on over. She ended up coming over at 11:30, and the three of us left there and went to the Arena. She and Kacie ate chicken wraps and I drank. I only had one pitcher, and a few drafts over at Chili's, but it was still a good time.
Kacie and I came back and watched a little TV, then decided to break in the bathroom, which is pretty much the only area of our tiny apartment that we have not done dirty deeds, if you know what I mean.
Once finished, we watched the Cable Guy. Kacie had never seen it. She liked it, but was creeped out and somewhat amazed by Jim Carey's performance.
I ended up getting to bed around seven a.m. Woke up around 3 and made sure Kacie got to work. Unfortunately I fell back asleep and did not wake up until 7 p.m. When I woke up I watched Sportscenter, and then the Simpsons/American Dad/Family Guy/War at Home. Favorite line of the night comes from Lois, "I am like that lady in Texas who tried to drown her baby and made him retarded after holding him under too long. Damn you Barbara Bush." Kacie came home and we watched Just Friends on HBO and Real Time With Bill Mahr. She then went to bed and now I am just chilling here, writing and watching LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring.
Well there you have it, my fun and exciting weekend.

Football
I love how quickly football analysts can jump on a bandwagon. At the beginning of the year all you heard was how the Bengals were going to be the best team this year, and now? Well lets just say they are now talking about how they were never that good really. Who did Pasquarelli pick to win the AFC North? The Bengals.
Watching Sportscenter today, all I heard was how the Bears were overrated. Yeah they lost to the Dolphins, a team with a 1-6 record, but that does not mean they are not one of the best football teams this year.
Also, something tells me my fantasy team got thrashed yet again this week. I was projected to score 99 points, which was like 12 more than my opponent. Sadly, my team never plays to their projections.
Football has been really rough this year. Watching Penn State has been horrible. They have absolutely no offense. The Steelers make no sense whatsoever. BigBen is hoisting up interceptions like it is his job. Most of us think Batch should start, see if he can change anything. Really the problem is the running back. Parker is good, but not really what the Steelers need. They are used to the powerback. Who knows who could fill that spot for them, but unless they fix it, the outlook for them is quite bleak.
UPDATE
Well yeah, I got destroyed yet again. Ugh, I give up on fantasy football this year. Anyone in my league reading this should just offer me crap and I will give you my best players. Also I would take money for certain trades.

Lost: Episode 305
Last night I never got the chance to watch Lost. I tried watching it tonight, but I am now convinced that the cable in this building is really weak, so I may call D&E and see about a power booster or something. Now I am watching it on abc.com. It is taking forever to load each piece, so while it does, I figured I would talk about what has happened.
We see Eko and his brother as children and a nun wants Eko to confess for stealing food for his brother. Then they force us to sit through the scenes of how his brother died and Eko faked being a priest (probably how they were able to say that this episode would have less commercials, they just filmed less and used more stock footage). Eko's brother comes and tells Eko he must confess and then the building catches fire. What kind of freaky island causes everyone to see dead people? Who wins, Zombie Boone, Zombie Jack's Dad, or Zombie Yemi (is that his name?) I put my money on Zombie Jack's Dad, because he is probably still drunk.
Jack was able to deduce/bluff that Ben has the tumor, and could you see the fear in his face when Jack told him? The funeral was kind of weird, anyone know what song that was? Locke seems like he may be back to his weird, enigmatic self, which is something I like. He and Sayid need to rescue everyone and then get back to being normal. Going to the other hatch and communicating seems like a good idea, but that will just end badly.
Will Jack help Ben? I hope he does, and then decides to kill the prick. That cheeseburger looked good, maybe I will go eat after this...sorry about that tangent. Eko still scares the smoke monster. You would think smoke monsters would have no fear, but I guess large black men scare everything. Reminds me of the movie Shoot to Kill where Sidney Pottier scares a grizzley bear away, and Tom Beranger says "How did you do that?" and Sid responds "Everyone else up hear is afraid of a black man, why would the bear be any different." If anyone has ever seen that movie, and knows I messed up the quote, well I am sorry, okay not really, but anyways.
Nikki and Paulo join the group. Sweet, I hope the smoke monster eats Paulo and sleeps with Nikki.

Speaking of Nikki, she is really hot.
Anyways, we see the dude with the eye patch staring at the camera and Locke lets us know that he knows they are coming, it was quite anticlimatic really. Then Eko goes to make his confession and confesses that he is not sorry. Yemmy must not have been really Yemmy. My guess he was the smoke monster, it can change form maybe, especially if it has their genetic code, which would have been left on the body when Eko burnt it. Okay I am grasping at straws here, but it was cool watching Eko smashed around by smoke. I also hope the smoke monster does not read my blog because then maybe I will be next.
Eko tells Locke that they are next, which does not bode well for Paulo. I doubt anyone really likes him and he is not hot like Nikki.
Well everyone, that is it for me, I will try to post about the preview when I get a chance to watch it.

World Series Thoughts

Baseball season is over, although for me it was pretty much over at the end of April because the Pirates were playing that bad. I really wanted to see the Tigers beat the Cards, but it did not happen, so oh well.
If any of you have read Firejoemorgan, you probably noticed many of the David Eckstein articles they have made fun of. Most of the articles are terrible and say basically the same thing. What is funny to me though, is he wins the WS MVP, yet during the WS was not the best player on his team. Scott Rolen hit much better than Eck, as did Yadier Molina. If you are going to give it to someone, I would say give it to Molina, since he hit so much better during the entire playoffs, and kept it going through the WS, in comparison to how he hit during the regular season. Eckstein pretty much hit about the same as he did all year, nothing spectacular, and nothing that would make him the most valued player on your team.
Anyways, no more baseball talk from me for awhile. Hopefully the Pirates will do something productive this offseason.
Lost Preview

I figure it would be fun to have another poll about Lost, plus I wanted an excuse to put a picture up that reminded me of Kate slipping between the bars, mmmm....
