Well 2007 saw many changes happen in my life, some good and some, not so good. Let's have a nice look back at the year that was.
January
Started off the year right, went to a lame ass New Year's Eve party at Stef's house. Fortunately Kacie and I bolted over to her friend Slu and Kate's place and had a much better time there.
Then, I write my most commented on post to date, which deals with how funny religion can be, sadly my insane family members have no sense of humor and took it completely the wrong way, turning the post into a war ground for much older problems.
February
Kacie and I celebrate our two year anniversary. Hmm, nothing really spectacular happened in February.
March
Captain America dies! How long until he comes back from the dead? Or is revealed that he was a Skrull? Or that he was a clone...
My fantasy baseball draft happens and people do not think my team is all that good, haha, I showed them, first place almost all season.
State College has State Patrick's Day because Spring Break fell during St. Patty's day. Bars and stupid people complained about it, so they came up with their own idiotic holiday. It was absolutely retarded.
300 comes out and makes everyone orgasm. The movie rocked. Chicks and dudes loved it. I saw it three times at the theater.
April-May
These two months sucked. The Pirates season started and they blew right from the beginning. I was preparing for my move to Pittsburgh.
June
I move to Crafton. We have a pretty fun going away party for me, it does not end well though. I start work down here, but the first rule of working at XXXXXXX is you cannot talk about XXXXXX. The second rule of working at XXXXXXX is you cannot talk about XXXXXXXX!
The Dark Times
About this time my posting goes down because of work and mainly because I never have anything useful to write about.
Since June though, something horrible happened in my life. Kacie and I ended our relationship in October. She found out that I was not so faithful to her. I apologize to her for hurting her and wish that I could change the past. We still talk and try to remain friends, but it is not the same as it once was.
Christmas
Okay, moving on to more upbeat times. Let me tell you about my Christmas presents. My brother got me: The Complete Seinfeld, Nintendo DS: Zelda Edition (which I have started playing and it is freakin' awesome, although if Greg is reading this, I'll probably need assistance if I get stuck), a Green Lantern key chain, and a cool Family Guy action figure.
My mom got me some practical things which I needed badly, such as a new vacuum cleaner, work clothes, and a new toothbrush. Also, people gave me plenty of money to buy lots of new things.
This New Year's Eve will be spent at work, which blows a big floppy donkey dong, but oh well, I am sure....oh fuck it, there is actually nothing I can think of that makes me happy about working over New Year's.
Anyways, my resolution for 2008: to post more often for everyone and to post more varied topics. Hope everyone had a great 2007 and a better 2008!
Here is another Carl video to help you decide who to pick in those college bowl games.

Christmas Presents Part II
Christmas quickly tightens it's grip upon us all and I am sitting here wondering what to buy people. Personally, I think I am super easy (to buy for, not sexually, well okay, I am easy that way too...), I mean buy me some DVDs or comics and I am pretty happy.
In order to make it easier for everyone, I will list some stuff that I would love to get this year:
DVDs
Superbad
Bourne Ultimatum
Stardust
The Simpsons Movie
Maybe Lost Season 3 (I have the first two, and I would like to sit down and watch the third season again especially with no new shows out because of the stupid strike)
Comics
Absolute Kingdom Come
Absolute Sandman Vol.1 and Vol. 2
Alias Omnibus
Runaways Hardcover Vol. 1,2,3
The Hood (I think that is the name of it by Brian K. Vaughn, laziness prohibits me from looking that up though)
Anything else that would be really cool that I do not have, haha.
Okay, that is about it, nothing major, just some cool stuff. You can get my mailing address from me via email. Thank you everyone.

The Giant Eagle Experience
Sometimes life is full of complicated decisions, and today proved to be one of those times. I went over to Giant Eagle to buy some Mountain Dew and Poptarts, I was really hungry for them. As I approach the registers, I do the quick scan, not for the fastest line, but instead for the hottest cashier. I found her in Aisle 7, and I must admit, she was much hotter than I expected of any Giant Eagle cashier.
The lady in front of me is some white trash bitch with about $140 worth of food that she is buying with her food stamps. She gets to eat much better than me, and I am paying for her food, how great is that? Anyways, there seems to be a problem with one of the coupons and when it should have been entered. A manager comes over and tries to fix it, but to no avail.
Now I am left with a decision, should I move out of the line, which all the rest of them have people at, or do I stick at it. Five more minutes goes by and the cashier keeps giving me the sexy eyes, but sadly there are now two managers there and trying to talk to her might seem a bit creepy.
Sadly, I decided to leave the line, and the cute looked at me and said "Sorry." Oh well, maybe next time I decide to buy Poptarts she'll be there.

Heroes: "Powerless"
Damn writer's strike. Although, I cannot rail on them too much, they do have some valid points, which I do not feel like discussing right now.
Let's start with the first person to die: Niki. I finally got my wish, thank you writers, for that alone you should have your demands met. How did she die? Who cares, she is gone. Let us move on.
Mohinder vs. Sylar
Mohinder returns to his place and finds Sylar there. Sylar says that Maya is making breakfast. Mohinder asks Maya if she knows that Sylar is a killer, and Maya says she knows that and that she too has taken lives.
Mohinder realizes that Sylar does not have his power and tries to stab him with a knife, but Sylar pulls a gun on him. Maya realizes that he is a monster and starts to use her power. Sylar says that she will also kill Molly and Mohinder. She stops from killing them and Sylar forces all of them to Mohinder's lab where he can receive the cure.
Once there, Mohinder takes some of Sylar's blood and discovers that he was injected by the company just like Niki. Molly looks for Alejandro, but cannot find him. Maya realizes that Sylar killed him and wants to confront him. Sylar shoots her in the chest and tells Mohinder to give her the blood to see if it works.
She starts to heal, but then someone unexpected shows up: Elle. She was upset about being punished by her father and broke into his computer, where she saw the surveillance camera at Mohinder's lab. She sees Sylar and decides to bring him down herself.
Sylar fires a couple bullets at Elle, then grabs the final syringe and runs out of the room. Elle chases after him and hits him with a few bolts of electricity. Elle then returns to the lab and says he got away. Mohinder says that he took the vial.
In the prologue for Volume Three: Villains, we see Sylar inject the blood and his wounds begin to heal. He then focuses on an empty can of spinach and makes it come to him. He then says "I'm back."
Claire
West comes to the house and wants Claire not to expose them, but her mind is made up and he leaves and flies away with a very sad expression on his face. Then Mr.B walks through the door and tells Claire that she cannot expose the Company, that he has made a deal that will keep them safe. He then leaves.
Hiro vs. Peter/Adam
Nathan and Parkman confront Angela about where Adam plans to go, she tells them that he wants the virus and that it is in Texas. Nathan tells her that Peter is alive and working with Adam. She tells them that the only way to kill Adam is a bullet in the head. As they leave, Parkman hears her thinking to him that if Peter cannot be stopped then a bullet in his brain is all that will stop him.
They land in Texas and make a few jokes about how they should never talk about that experience (which seemed to be an obvious nod to the comic book Invincible, where the main character always says how gay it looks to fly people around, especially his best guy friend.
Peter and Hiro battle briefly, but then Peter knocks Hiro out and restarts time. Adam says that they were friends once. They get to the vault where the virus awaits them. Peter uses his telekinesis to rip the vault door out. Once it is out, he looks kind of weak and tells Adam to go in and destroy the virus.
Parkman comes at Peter and tells him to stop Adam using his mind powers. At first Peter seems to be falling under the power, but then he fights back and uses his other powers to take down Parkman. Then Nathan comes out and talks some sense into Peter.
Hiro teleports into the vault and Adam says that he will kill Hiro. Hiro knocks the sword away and puts an arm on Adam's shoulder and teleports them away. As this happens Adam drops the virus, but Peter runs into the vault and catches the vial. Peter then uses his nuclear power to disintegrate the virus.
Hiro teleports back to Ando and says that Adam will not be a problem, and they show Adam inside a coffin in the ground. He screams and as the camera drifts upwards his screams disappear and we see that he is at Kaito's grave. Nice job Hiro, I hope that he never finds a way to get out because he will be really pissed and really smelly.
Nathan decides to tell the world about his powers. He gives a press conference and just before he can say he can fly, two shots are fired and hit him in the chest. Parkman scans the room, but cannot find the shooter. We then see someone walk out of the building.
Angela is seen watching the footage of Nathan's death and says to someone on the phone that it was unavoidable, but now they may have opened up Pandora's Box. She is such an evil bitch, killing her own son.
My guess is that she was on the phone with Bob, who found out what Nathan was planning and made a deal with Mr.B. I am guessing that Peter will now be seeking revenge.

I like photos of Kristen Bell.

College Football
This is the type of year the BCS has dreaded for a few years now. Every team has a loss, some of the better ones even have two. Then you have a team like Hawaii with an undefeated record, but unfortunately they only played maybe one good team.
This should be evidence enough that college football should finally go to a tournament system, but obviously that will not happen. Top eight teams go in, you use the smaller bowl games for the first round, and one of the semifinal games, and the big four get to have the rest of the semifinals and the championship game. The championship game could be rotated between the big four each year like it is now.
As of now, this is what it would look like:
1. Missouri 11-1
8. USC 9-2
5. Kansas 11-1
4. Georgia 10-2
3. Ohio State 11-1
6. Virginia Tech 10-2
7. LSU 10-2
2. WVU 10-1
Here is how it plays out in my head: Missouri beats USC, Georgia over KU, OSU beats VTech, and LSU "upsets" WVU. Second round: Missouri barely beats Georgia, LSU knocks the crap out OSU (giving Coach Miles incentive to take the Michigan job).
The championship game is about to begin when it turns out the LSU team has been kidnapped and replaced by Hawaii! Colt Brennan comes out and throws 11 TDs in the first half before blowing out his knees. Hawaii tries in vain to stop Missouri, but eventually a last second fumble allows Hawaii to escape unbeaten and upset that they were overlooked for the playoffs...
Or, instead of my odd fantasy, you can listen to Carl from ATHF rant about the BCS.

Heroes: "Truth & Consequences"

The next to last episode of the season. It was definitely an awesome episode with a pretty kick ass set of cliffhangers.
Peter & Adam
Peter travels back to the future, but this time using his spirit form, he can see everything, but no one can see him. We last saw him use this power in the "How to Stop an Exploding Man" when he went back and talked to Charles Deveaux. I guess he got that power from Mr. Deveaux, but who really knows.
When he comes back, Adam does not believe him, but Peter has a paper about the virus to prove it. They decide to hunt down Victoria Pratt and find out about the virus. Peter asks her to help him, and she gives him false information. She follows Peter to the car to see him with Adam. She says that Adam tried to unleash the virus before. Peter takes her down, and they tie her up. He reads her mind and finds out the virus is in Odessa, Texas. Adam cuts her loose and she grabs the shotgun, which forces Adam to shoot her. Peter gets upset and Adam says that she would have blown his head off, which is the only way to kill either of them. After Peter leaves, Adam draws the helix symbol on Victoria's picture and drops it, saying that maybe someone will find it if anyone survives.
Sylar & Maya
Sylar convinces Maya that her brother hates her and that she needs to learn how to control her powers. She starts to panic and Sylar is about to die when she comes to control it and saves him. When she tells Alejandro, he shows her that Sylar is a murderer. Sylar admits to killing his mom, but she was trying to kill him, she thought he was a monster, and Sylar was just defending himself.
Maya believes him and tells Alejandro to go home. Later, Alejandro attacks Sylar at the hotel. Sylar stabs him and then Maya knocks on his door. He comes outside and they make out for a bit.
Mohinder
Mohinder uses Claire's blood to come up with a cure for the Chanti Virus, but as he tells Bob, if certain strains like 138 ever got loose it would wipe out mankind. He wants Bob's help in destroying all the strains after he cures Niki. Mohinder heads out to New Orleans, when he receives a scary phone call. Sylar says that he just sent the babysitter home and that he is waiting for Mohinder to come back. Mohinder realizes that Sylar has Molly.
Hiro
Hiro and Ando dig through information about Kensei, when they discover he calls himself Adam Monroe. Hiro finds out when they captured him and he goes back to that day in 1977. Adam tried to steal the virus, strain 138 from Victoria's lab. Kaito had Adam locked up. Hiro hears his father give orders to send the strain to Odessa. Hiro goes back to the present and grabs his sword. He then teleports away to save the world.
The Finale
Peter and Adam walk into Primatech, which Adam explains is just a front for the Company. Then, time stops and only Peter can move around. He then sees Hiro, who tells Peter that he must kill Adam. Peter says that he cannot let Hiro do that and forms a ball of electricity. Hiro then says that Peter has chosen the wrong side and screams a battle cry and charges and the to be continued...screen pops up and I was left sitting there pondering how Hiro could ever defeat Peter?
On a sidenote, I skipped over Claire and Elle's little confrontation because it was not as sexy as I had hoped for. So in my head I redid the entire scene. It is definitely X-Rated...
"Adam Monroe killed my father, and for that he must pay."-Hiro
"I can't let you do that."-Peter
"Then you have chosen the wrong side."-Hiro

Monday Night Football
Sorry folks, but there will be no Heroes post tonight. Probably going to get it up tomorrow night after work. Tonight I will be out watching the Steelers game somewhere, and most likely will come home a wee bit tipsy. No one really wants to read something I have written after a few beers.
Hopefully whichever bar I decide to frequent this evening will have girls even close to this hot.

Heroes: "Cautionary Tales"

This episode had three stories which were actually tied together by one person. Finally we are seeing how everything is coming together and unfortunately this stupid strike will delay things for us.
Hiro
Hiro attends his father's funeral, but decides to go back and save his father. He jumps back to the day when his dad gets murdered and watches the conversation between him and Angela. Once she leaves Hiro comes out and tells him that he is from the future and that Kaito will die that day.
Kaito accepts this as his fate and will not let Hiro save him. Hiro teleports him back in time to the day his mother died. He thinks that Kaito will remember what it means to lose someone, but instead has a conversation with his younger self and realizes that his father is ready to die and join his wife in the afterlife.
Hiro takes them both back and says goodbye to his father. The hooded man appears and knocks Kaito off the ledge. Hiro stops time and says that if cannot save his father he can at least learn the identity of the killer. He walks over to the ledge and a look of horror passes over him: the killer is Kensei, Adam Monroe.
Matt
Matt's story is not nearly as long as the other two, but interesting nonetheless. He starts out by having breakfast with Molly and she wants to help him find the woman in the photograph, but Matt says no. When she tries to walk away, he uses his mind powers to make her finish her cereal.
Later that day, his boss says he must drop the Petrelli case or he will be fired. Matt places a thought in his head to give him 24 more hours, which the boss does. Matt then goes to question Angela one more time. As he goes into her mind and tells her to answer his questions she says that he is becoming worse than his father. He learns that the name of the woman in the photo is Victoria Platt.
He also learns that Adam is over 400 years old and that his power makes him not age. Adam wants revenge for those imprisoning him for 30 years.
Mr.Bennett
The Bennett's pack their things in order to move away again. Claire comes down in her cheerleading uniform and says that she has a pep-rally. Mr.B is furious with her and she storms out saying that she hates him.
At the same time Mohinder, Elle, and Bob are planning to capture Claire. Mohinder wants to talk to him, not hurt him. Mr.B decides to find West, he calls Mohinder and asks him to use Molly to find West. At that moment West grabs Mr.B and flies him into the air, they talk and finally land. Mr.B realizes that West is a good kid and that they both want to protect Claire.
Mohinder calls back with a location, which is obviously not where West is, since West is with Mr.B. Mr.B goes to the location and talks to Mohinder, who pulls a gun on Mr.B. Elle comes out and is about to zap Mr.B when West flies from behind her and slams into her knocking her out.
Bob shows up at Claire's school and calls her by her real last name. She runs home, but then Bob shows up there. Mr.B returns home to find his wife tied up, he frees her and she says that Bob has Claire. West walks in carrying a tied up Elle.
Elle wakes up with her feet in a bucket of water and Mr.B spraying her with a sink hose. She does not think and tries to use power to break the chains holding her down. You would think someone with electricity based powers would know that standing in a bucket of water is not a good thing.
Bob calls Elle's phone and Mr.B answers. He says he will trade daughters. He then tells Elle that Bob treated her like a lab rat and that is why he would never let them have Claire. Elle does not remember all the horrible tests they did on her.
Bob extracts Claire's blood, who is actually willing to help out, and then takes her to the drop point. As Claire and Elle cross each other, they give a nasty looks. Or maybe they were looks of lust, I could only hope so...
West grabs Claire and flies her away, but Elle shoots them out of the sky. As they fall, Claire adjusts so they land on her. Mr.B shoots Elle in the arm and is about to shoot Bob when Mohinder shoots Mr.B in the face, fulfilling Isaac's painting prophecy.
The show ends with the bag of Claire's blood hooked up to someone's arm, as they follow the arm up we see that it is Mr.B and when the blood kicks in his eyeball and skull start to regenerate. He sits up and says "Holy sh--" and then the to be continued screen pops up. I believe that was the same scene as when Claire fell on the stick and woke up in the morgue, she sat up and says holy sh-- and it cut away, either to commercial or the next episode. Also, anyone else notice any symmetry between this episode and other episodes? Like the meeting between Mohinder and Mr.B? The first time they meet Mr.B is in the back of a cab using mysterious threats on Mohinder, and this time it's reversed. Another thing I noticed, Claire says that she's just a cheerleader, which is what she told Peter in the episode "Homecoming."
Anyways those were some little things that I noticed. If you are wondering how Adam ties into the final story, well I do not think it's hard to figure out. His powers and Claire's powers. If the Company had him that long why not take his blood?
I read an interesting theory online that said Adam is the great-ancestor of all the characters. He's been alive for 400 years, which is plenty of time to have lots of sex and lots of babies. Also, look at the choice of name, Adam...
Let me know what you think.

Utah Still Exists
I was reading news articles today and stumbled upon this one. It's about how American Atheists Inc. want giant crosses that mark the deaths of fallen highway patrolmen removed from the roads.
First of all, that many Utah Highway Patrolmen have died over the years that these crosses are a problem? Seriously, there is crime in Utah? Why? I thought Utah had like 12 people. I am kidding, I am sure Utah is a beautiful state with a massive population and plenty of dangerous crime.
Second, there is a group called the American Atheists Inc.? What the fuck. They go around fighting the good fight, like removing all Christian symbols from the public. They preach about how there is no god, and they have absolute faith that they are 100% right. I am sure they sound just as crazy as some of the religious nuts that they battle.
I am an atheist, but I would never join some kind of group to help rid the world of all those harmful crosses. I just wonder if a Jewish cop dies in Utah, do they put up a Star of David for him? I guess I should stop being sexist, I am sure there are female officers in Utah, and perhaps a couple Jewish ones as well. Can you imagine if a Muslim officer died out on the road and someone wanted to put up a Crescent Moon. I bet that would go over real well.
Is there any point to this? Absolutely not. Sometimes I hate atheists just as much as I hate religious nuts. You will not find me out campaigning in Washington demanding that the government remove "In God We Trust" from our money. Why? Because I just do not care. You can believe in whatever gods you want, just leave me out of it.

This photo just helps make whatever you read a little less boring. See she's a sexy nun, and this post is about religion...everything is connected.

Heroes: "Four Months Ago"
This could have been the best episode ever, but much of it dealt with Niki and the family, which pretty much sucked. Instead of talking about them, I will just pretend they did not exist and discuss the coolness of Peter's story.
The episode begins with Adam telling Peter who he is and that the Haitian must have erased his memories. Adam says that Peter can get them back by using Adam's healing power. Once Peter tries to think about Nathan he starts to remember...
We flash back to Peter about to explode and Nathan flying him away. Before he blows, Peter tells Nathan to let him go, but the blast injures Nathan. Peter heals and swoops down and saves Nathan and rushes him to a hospital. Nathan is horribly burned.
Peter tries to slip away, but is hit by a bolt of electricity by Elle, who accompanies Bob. When Peter wakes up he is with the Company. Bob explains that they are trying to find a way to cure Peter so that he cannot hurt his family. Peter begins taking pills that suppress his powers.
Elle likes to come in and shock him and be kind of flirty, which let me be honest, was pretty hot. Peter talks to his neighboring cell mate, Adam Monroe. Adam tells him that they are prisoners and that the supposed cure has been in the works for over 3 decades.
After awhile, Peter realizes that Adam told him the truth about the facility being a prison. Peter stops taking his meds and helps Adam escape. They go to the hospital and Adam gives Nathan some of his blood. The blood immediately starts to cure Nathan.
Elle and the Haitian come for both of them, and Adam says they will rendezvous in Montreal. The Haitian catches Peter and blocks his powers, then he handcuffs him inside of the tanker. He gives Peter his necklace and erases his memories. The Haitian says he is helping Peter start over his life.
As the time catches back up, Peter says that he remembers everything. Adam asks him if he is ready to save the world...
Interesting. I would love to believe that over 400 years Adam has changed and really does want to save the world. I hope he has not just spent the next 400 years preparing himself to kill Hiro.
What did you guys think of the episode? Feel free to comment on other aspects of the show, like Niki and her next dumbass personality, or whatever else.

Heroes: "Out of Time"

The Virus
Peter is trapped in the future where 93% of the world's population has fallen victim to the Chanti Virus. The people who discover Peter say that he has been dead for awhile now and they bring him to see his mother. Good thing she helped jump start his memory (although she was nice to him, it would have been better if she was her typical bitch self). Anyways, the government people are deporting Caitlin when Peter teleports back to our time period.
Back in our time Maury is coming to kill Bob. Matt and Nathan are there to help them stop Maury. Bob says that Matt is the only one who can. Mohinder and Niki are going to give Maury the virus. A bunch of stuff happens, Matt overcomes Maury, rescues Molly, but in the end Niki injects herself. Honestly, that was the best moment of the show, when Mohinder told Niki that his blood did not work.
Bob informs Nathan that Peter is alive and also about Adam Monroe. Turns out that Adam was the one who found them all, but that he believed man needed to be wiped out. He uses Maury as his blunt weapon and Linderman was one of his disciples. Well it turns out that Adam and Peter escaped together.
Kensei vs. Hiro
Kensei has Hiro's faced buried in opium, which messes with his concentration. When he finally does escape, he decides to go back and destroy White Beard's guns. Kensei comes to stop him and they fight for a bit. Hiro refuses to kill Kensei, but Kensei refuses to teleport out of the tent with Hiro. The gunpowder goes off and all we see is the charred remains of Kensei's helmet.
Hiro tells Yaeko that he must leave and she promises to keep the stories of Kensei true so that young Hiro will have his bedtime stories. She seems pretty laid back about a guy from the future who partially explained things like the space-time continuum. Hell the only reason I understand time paradoxes is because of the Back to the Future movies.
Hiro returns to Ando and gives him the Kensei mask, but is saddened to learn that his father has died.
Adam Monroe
Back in Montreal, Peter tries to teleport back to the future (haha) to rescue Caitlin. Someone comes in and he fires a lightning bolt which fries the person's hand. The hand heals itself and in walks Adam Monroe, none other than our old friend Kensei.
I will be honest with everyone, that was not a big surprise to me. I had read in numerous places that David Anders would be a regular cast member and that Kensei would still be alive in our era. "As long as I have breath, anything you love I will lay to waste... I swear, you will suffer." To me, that seemed to hint that he would be around much longer.
What interests me is if the company knows about his powers, then why not try and get him as well to help cure the virus. And how come they do not have a ton of his blood out there in their labs?
Something tells me that Adam will be quite the BAMF at this point. He has had 400 years to hone his fighting skills, while Hiro has been talking to Ando.

Patriots/Colts
After a week of hearing about this match up, it finally took place. The game of the year, although a few weeks ago the Cowboys/Patriots game was called that. Honestly it was a good game to watch, as much as I hate the Patriots, they are a fantastic team.
I wanted the Colts to win, mainly because I could not stand listening to announcers blab on and on about how great the Patriots are and how they are the greatest team of all time.
Well, I guess we just have to listen to it for the rest of the season. Someone better beat them soon.

Bearded Clams
No, this has nothing to do with vagina, although it would be much cooler, but instead with my hatred for shaving.
First let me just say that I think I look very good with a beard. Not a full Unabomber beard, but a nice few days growth beard. Unfortunately, where I work, beards are not permitted. It would definitely save me some money if I did not have to buy razors and shave every other day. I should probably shave everyday, but I like to push my bosses to the limits, that is me fighting the system.

I cannot understand the reason behind not allowing me to have a nice, trimmed beard. The above picture is an example of a beard that I should not grow. I can have a goatee, mustache, whatever, but if the entire face is covered, then I am in trouble.
I wonder, if I were to convert to Islam, could they tell me I was not allowed to grow a beard? Since Muslim men are supposed to grow a beard? Could I get fired for my religious beliefs? Probably, there is always a loophole. Maybe this is how I would look:

Yes, I finally put the pictures of my trip to Jordan and Egypt on my computer. Expect more pictures from those fun times.

Heroes: "The Line"

A little change of pace this week, instead of doing a long recap, I am just going to what I felt was the highlight of the show: the finding of the paintings and Peter teleporting.
The idea of someone with Peter's powers having no memory and no idea how to use his abilities really excites me. Plus, the idea that he had this adventure and now must piece his way back to his life is really cool. Adam Monroe, who may be the bad guy out killing the oldschool folks, somehow connects with Peter.
Anyways, he and Caitlin teleport to the future, one year to be exact, and it is deserted. All around them are biohazard signs and pamphlets. Some kind of outbreak that wipes out NYC?
Which now brings us to the paintings. The images were kind of brief, but most of them were recognizable. Mohinder firing a gun, and the last one of Mr.B dead from a bullet. The question is, did he actually shoot Mr.B? Also, the painting of Peter behind bars with the biohazard symbol in the corner could point to some kind of outbreak (most likely due to the companies experimentation on the virus) which starts to kill regular people (remember, Mohinder warns against this) and the government starts rounding up people with powers since they are not affected.
Okay, just an odd theory. Anyone have any ideas what the Company is up to? Do they have a plan?

24: Season 7 Preview
Yeah, I did not like Season Six all that much. I complained about it. But, after seeing this preview, all is forgiven.
Heroes: "Fight or Flight"

Late once again. I am starting to fall behind on these things. What can I say? Can you forgive me? I hope so.
Peter
By far, Peter's story interests me, and probably everyone else, the most. Veronica Mars comes looking for Peter. When Ricky hears about it, he sends Peter up to Caitlin's flat (nice protective brother he is, sees his little sister making out with a guy and then tells them to go back to her place...I guess the Irish are finally starting to get progressive about sex...anyways)
Elle, that's the characters real name played by the always hot Kristen Bell, shows up at
Anyways, back at Caitlin's place, Peter decides to open the box. He finds his passport (he learns his last name), a plane ticket from NYC to Montreal, and a photo of Nathan and himself. He does not recognize Nathan. The two love birds then talk about Caitlin's painting skills, and Peter goes into his Isaac-mode and starts painting the future.
When he is finished, it is a picture of Caitlin and Peter at a street corner in what appears to be Montreal (the French names are a clue). Apparently, that corner is the location of the Notre Dame Basilica in Montreal.
They hear about Ricky and they rush down to the bar. Peter blames himself, and tells Caitlin that he will stop hiding from his past now. Elle talks on the phone to someone she calls daddy. She says she killed someone, but that it was no big deal, she is close to finding Peter. She gets upset because daddy orders her to come home. Hmmm, who is her father? Could it be Bob?
Nathan and Matt
These two team up to confront Maury, Matt's father. When they get to Philly, Matt arrests Maury, and they question him. Nathan suggests reading his mind. Maury is surprised that Matt can read minds because that is his power too. He says that it starts with mind-reading, but it can turn into so much more.
Maury leads Matt into another room, and when Matt turns around he is in a prison cell. There is a baby and then Janice is there telling him that he walked out on her and the baby, and that he will walk out on Molly too. The guard comes in and they start to fight.
Nathan goes through the door after Matt and Maury and ends up on a rooftop looking at the NYC burning. He then faces the horribly scarred version of himself. They start to fight, and then the scenes flip back and forth between fights and we can see that they are fighting each other. Matt finally cracks through, and helps Nathan come out of it, but unfortunately Maury is long gone, and the only clue is the picture of Bob, with the same symbol on it.
So, I guess that Maury is the nightmare man, but he must not be the same guy killing the other old timers.
Mohinder
Easily my second favorite character on the show right now. He calls Mr.B, who is in Odessa with the Haitian, about Molly. Mohinder wants to take her to the Company, but Mr.B warns him against it.
Well, Mohinder eventually takes her in, and Bob is quite happy that he did. He says they want to help her. Bob gives Mohinder a taser and says that sometimes he will have to use it on the people he is trying to help because they may not be able to control their powers. As he says that, Niki comes out of nowhere and throws Mohinder against the wall and starts choking Bob. Mohinder wisely tasers the bitch and they get her back into her cell.
When she comes to, she is calm and thanking Bob for helping her. Bob mentions that she has Multiple Personality Disorder and how tough that can be for someone like her. When Bob leaves, Mohinder offers to help her escape, but Niki says she came there because they were the only ones who can help her. Bob then sends Mohinder out on his next assignment.
Monica and Micah
Micah shows Monica his powers and tells her that she is a muscle mimic. She starts watching some Bruce Lee movie and can do most of his moves. There is a knock on the door, and Mohinder is there offering to give Monica the answers she is looking for.
Ando
Ando has some scientists look at the scrolls in order to read the damaged parts. We learn that Hiro is setting time right and that Kensei and Yaeko are falling in love. They are close to White Beard's camp and about to rescue Yaeko's father. When the get to the point where the camp should be, there is instead a massive army there.
The scroll is too damaged and the scientist says it will take some time for him to figure out what it says. Ando wants to know badly.
I want to take a moment to discuss my thoughts on "The Company." At first I was convinced they were a group of regular people trying to control the people with powers, but now it seems that they were originally people with powers trying to save the world.
What happened? How did they go from saving the world, to abducting people with powers? I guess they are trying to prevent a person like Sylar from happening.
Anyways, what do you guys think?

Heroes: "The Kindness of Strangers"
Sorry everyone for not posting this sooner. My life has been a mess and I apologize for not getting this up earlier.
Matt and Nathan
Nathan shaves and decides to see his kids, but then the teacher tells him he has to leave the premises. He then goes to see Angela, who has just confessed to Kaito's murder. Matt does not believe her, and she says in her mind for him to drop it or none of them will be safe.
Matt confronts Nathan and tells him that he knows he can fly and that he too has powers. Matt shows Nathan the pictures of Kaito and Angela, Nathan recognizes the photo and finds Matt a full copy. All sorts of familiar faces on it: Angela, Kaito, Ned, Linderman, Arthur Petrelli, and a guy that Matt says is his father, Maury.
That night, Matt asks Molly to find his father. She tries to and then says that he is the nightmare man. Matt and Mohinder argue about using her again, and then she volunteers to find him. They find his place, it is in Philadelphia (all bad people live in Philly, everyone knows that)and then Molly screams that he is coming. She goes into shock, and Matt can her in his head screaming help.
Sylar
Sylar runs into our new pals Maya, Alejandro, and Derek. They rescue an almost dead Sylar on the road and they talk to him. He sees Dr.Suresh's book and tells them that he knows the man and he can take them to him. Maya thinks that Sylar is a great guy, a gift from god, and she asks his name. He looks at his broken watch and tells her Gabriel.
Later, at a rest stop, Derek notices a paper with the pictures of the two fugitives. He shows Sylar and wants to turn them in. Sylar follows Derek and grabs a brick. He then gets in the car and tells them that Derek wants to turn them in, but he wants to know the truth from them. Maya tells him the truth, and then starts crying. Her power kicks in and Sylar starts to die, but Alejandro turns it on and saves the day. Sylar can hear talks ticking away. He says he will help them, Dr.Suresh has helped many people. Later they show Derek dead with a wound to the head.
Claire
Claire and West go on another date, this time to the Hollywood sign. He says that she needs to trust him, and that she should just jump. When she does he swoops down and catches her.
He asks her what her story was to her dad, and she says about going to the library. That night, when she gets home, her dad wants to know where she was, and she says that she lied about the library, and instead she joined cheerleading.
When Mr.B goes outside, the Haitian meets up with him. He says he has a lead on the paintings and that they must go to Odessa, Ukraine. Mr.B says that he will come up with a good excuse.
Monica
Micah wakes up to a nice bucket of water from his cousin. At breakfast the annoying kid wants $65 to watch PPV Wrestling. Granny and Monica both say no, but then Micah tells him he can get it for him. That night he uses his powers to get the wrestling match.
Monica works at a fast food restaurant and she wants to become manager. She took the test, but her boss says she did get into the program. Apparently she has a power, since twice we see her copying something she saw on TV. Kind of like Echo from Daredevil.
Anyways, here are my questions for discussion:
1. Did Derek have a power? I think so, it sounded like when he and Sylar were talking that Sylar could hear the ticking again.
2. Is anyone else fascinated by the fact that the parents of our heroes, also had powers? But, it does not seem to be an automatic thing, since Simone did not seem to have powers, or did she? And if so, can Peter use them?
Okay, that's it. I promise next week will be a better post.

Ghosts
It's that time of year again. Halloween will be upon us soon and that means ghosts, goblins, and monsters everywhere we look. The other night while driving I tuned in to "Coast to Coast AM" on the radio (thank you Imler for the recommendation) and listened to some guy talk about his books on ghosts.
He goes on and on about all of these experiences he has had and whatnot and then finally gets to one really good story about a haunted place in Boston. He gets a call from a woman who says her studio is haunted and that she has video evidence. When he goes there he is in for a very nice surprise. The studio is for exotic pole dancing and the video's are of women performing on the pole. Apparently you can see these weird things in the video and the instructor likes to think they are the ghosts of men who enjoy watching the women.
My only question about the whole thing was: there are professional pole dancing instructors? Can I sign up for that class? To hell with yoga or ballroom dancing.
Anyways, the ghost thing always fascinates me. I watch all sorts of shows this time of year about ghosts and definitely enjoy watching Ghost Hunters, but must say that as an atheist I really have a hard time believing in ghosts.
The idea of there being souls who are left behind here on earth just seems rather silly to me. Why then do I love to read about these things or watch anything about them?
Well maybe I like the idea that maybe there is a scientific explanation. What if the "soul" is really just some kind of energy that every living creature contains and since energy cannot be created nor destroyed, maybe some of that energy just happens to manifest itself after people die.
I think the Buddhist and Hindu religions both say that basically there is a lifeforce out there and when you die depending upon your karma and whatnot you either come back worse off, or you get infused back into the collective lifeforce. It has been awhile since I studied either of those religions, and do not feel like looking anything up about them, but you get my point.
Eh, I definitely have not slept enough to think through this one, so I will just end it here. You guys tell me what you think about ghosts. I would be interested to know who believes and does not believe.

Heroes: "Kindred"

Last year when the series started, it seemed to start a bit slower and allow us to get to know everyone. Remember, the threat was Sylar and the priority was "Save the cheerleader, save the world."
Well this season, we do not need to get to know these characters, we already know and love them. We have our threat, the mystery man who haunts Molly Walker and kills the old timers. However, we have yet to find the mission, what do we need to save? Tonight we got that. More on that in a bit.
Peter
Ricky and the gang want Peter to help them knock off the bookies, after the big soccer match, I hope that Tyrone is the getaway driver (I hope someone gets the reference). They rob the place, and as the guards start to shoot at them, Peter uses telekinesis to push a truck in front of the shooters.
Earlier, he heard one of Ricky's brother's thoughts about killing the rest of them and taking the money. Peter accuses him, but no one believes him. Well once they were back at the bar, Will (the bad brother) decides to pull a gun on Ricky. Will shoots Peter in the chest, but Peter gets up and uses his telekinesis to plant Will into the wall and choke. He is about to kill him when Caitlin stops him. Will runs away, and Ricky now likes Peter.
Caitlin gives Peter a tattoo of a Celtic knot on his arm, and Ricky tells Peter that he is part of the family now and then gives Peter the box. Ricky leaves Caitlin and Peter alone, and she urges Peter to open the box. He does not want to because he is afraid of what he might find. He says that he wanted to kill Will, but she stopped him. She thinks he is a good person, and that if he is happy as who he is, then he does not need to open the box. They kiss, and we see a closeup of the tattoo, which fades, and we get the image of the helix, and then it disappears completely.
Who else thinks Caitlin is hot? She has a bit of a plain look to her, but I find her attractive. I dig the accent, and figure it's about time that Peter get some action.
Sylar
Sylar wakes up in Malibu, next to a hot chick. That never happens to me. She says her name is Michelle and that she fixed his wounds and rescued him from Kirby Plaza. She also tells him that her name used to be Candice, but since she is wanted by the cops, she changed her name and appearance (or that Missy Peregrym is now on Reaper). He wants to see where they really are, and she shows him, and also shows him his wounds.
Unfortunately for big, bad Sylar he cannot use his powers for some reason. He gets upset, and she explains that she can help him. She then offers all sorts of sexual fantasies to him, which he responds to by hitting her upside the head and trying to take her power.
We see the real her, which happens to be a fat chick. He tries to create illusions, but realizes he cannot use any of his powers, or just his original power. I am sure we will learn what is wrong with him very shortly.
Niki and Micah
Their first few moments of the season and naturally it was a suckfest. Just kidding, it was not that bad. I am trying not to be hard on them. Niki tells Micah they are leaving Las Vegas, and that he can come back to see his dad anytime. Micah then puts flowers on a grave of DL. So apparently DL really died, or did he? I bet he comes back somehow, maybe as a ghost.
They head on down to New Orleans, where Micah is going to stay with DL's mother. She welcomes them (I bet she has powers, or maybe she's just creepy) and Niki tells Micah that she will come back. She goes outside and makes a phone call. She calls Ned, and asks if they really have a cure for her and he tells her yes, but she will have to do something for them first.
Mohinder & Parkman
Parkman wakes up in the middle of the night and grabs his gun. He goes out to the kitchen and finds Mohinder getting something out of the fridge. Parkman does not like that Mohinder is playing spy. Molly comes out and gives Mohinder a hug. Awe, how cute. Two men and a baby or something...
Mohinder meets Ned at his new office, which just happens to be Isaac's old loft. They have a very expensive lab set up for him, and Ned says they will be monitoring him round the clock. Later Ned comes in with a new sample for him and then goes out to take the phone call from Niki.
Mohinder calls Mr.B and is afraid that they might get caught. Mr.B tells him not too worry and to look for the paintings. Mohinder finds one, the 8/8 of in the series. He takes a picture and sends it to Mr.B's computer, who looks at it and then closes it when Claire comes into the room. Do not worry, I will get to the image in a moment.
Maya & Alejandro
Alejandro gets arrested for attempting to steal a car. He gets put in jail next to some American kid who says "dude, you look like ass." Maya comes to the rescue by trying to give the cops $14. When they won't let him out, she uses her power and makes everyone die. Alejandro gets out and takes it back, and when the American kid comes to, he says he has a car, so they take him with them. How will he be connected to everything?
Hiro
Ando gets caught playing video games at work, and he decides to look at the sword and think about Hiro for a minute. He notices that on the handle it says "Ando open" and he opens the handles base and pulls out some scrolls, which are letters from Hiro describing his time in 1671.
Hiro tries to get Kensei not to freak out, but Kensei thinks that Hiro is some kind of devil. Later Hiro is with Yaeko and she is going on about how Kensei seems like two different people, sometimes he can be gentle and other times he acts like a brute.
When Hiro catches up with Kensei, he finds him cutting himself with a knife. Hiro explains that Kensei has powers and that Hiro does time. He shows him how he can teleport. Kensei realizes he can make tons of money as a swordfighter, but Hiro has other plans.
He teleports them to a temple which is home of the 90 Angry Ronin, who guard the Fire Scroll. As they charge Kensei, Hiro teleports away. Later Kensei joins Hiro and Yaeko and has the scroll.
Kensei thanks Hiro for his help and for showing him the right path. He won the Battle of the 90 Ronin, and will now continue on his quest. He is sad when Hiro says he must return home. As Kensei and Yaeko leave together, Hiro realizes he loves her and does not want to leave. He stays and says that his time with them is not over.
Claire
Claire confronts West about what he saw. She says it was a pedicure and that he just mistook the whole thing. He makes fun of her and then when they are in class, he asks if a lizard girl could cut off an appendage and grow it back.
Claire runs out of class and West follows her. Outside she admits that she is a freak and that she has powers. She freaks out for a little bit, and then West tells her to shut up. He picks her up and flies her to a nice little beach.
They talk about who has a cooler power for a bit, then start making out. Claire notices a scar on his neck (the same as Parkman's and Sprague's) and asks what it is. West does not know, but he knows that he was riding his bike one day and he saw a guy, with horned rimmed glasses and the next thing he remembers it's the next day and he is at home. It appears that Mr.B and the Haitian got to West awhile ago. West says that HRG looked at him like he was some kind of animal that belonged in a cage.
That night, as Mr.B stares at the picture of Isaac's painting, Claire comes in and says goodnight. It's obvious she wants to ask him about it, but does not know how to bring it up. Probably a good thing considering what might be going on in his mind. Mr.B just received a very disturbing picture.
The picture is of him with a bullet through his head, through his left eye to be exact. He is clearly dead in the picture. In the background is a blond girl, but it was not clear who she was (first guess is Claire, but sometimes those things can be deceiving).
So, now we have the priority: we do not want Mr.B to die. How weird is that to say? After the first few episodes last season, when we were convinced he was this sinister bad guy, who we should absolutely hate, and now he is probably one of our favorite characters.

Heroes: Part One
What? Part One? Again? I know you are asking those questions. No, I have not lost my mind, nor have I developed Hiro's powers and jumped back in time. Instead, I want to talk about the DVD (which my brother got me for my birthday, thank you so much Adam) and the original first episode that never aired.
For the most part, it is the same story as the original, but there were a bunch of things changed. The main thing being a character named Ahmed, who was captured by a Muslim terrorist cell. They called him the Engineer and they wanted him to build a bomb. He shows them that he is the bomb. At first he would not help them because he had killed his wife, she died of cancer. Sounds a bit like Ted Sprague.
This is how we meet Parkman, and see him use his powers. He finds one of the terrorists hiding, which eventually they redid as him finding Molly. Later he finds the cell, and when he confronts the Engineer, they recognize each other.
The first target of the cell had been a train heading to Odessa, Texas, where they were able to steal some Plutonium. That is the train wreck that Claire runs into to save the guys life.
Also, Parkman's wife is played by a different actress. Not a big deal, but odd.
At the end of the episode, Micah steals $300 from Tina and heads to Utah to get his dad out of jail, who was put in jail by a prosecutor named, Nathan Petrelli.
Also, Suresh meets Sylar at the end of the episode. His name was Paul Sylar. I am glad they changed Sylar to an alias. And that they left us debate about him for awhile.
When Peter goes with Simone to help Isaac, they find him like before, but instead of having overdosed, he had handcuffed himself to the wall, and used a saw to cut his own hand off.
Those are just a few of the interesting differences I noticed. Something I did pick up, and I might throw this stuff out here from time to time whenever I finish watching an episode is this: have we ever learned what Charles Deveaux and Angela Petrelli's powers were? Peter came into contact with both of these people when his powers developed.

Fantasy Football Week 4
Ugh. Dropped to 2-2. Lost 81-58. Not a very a good week.
This week I take on the first place team, and right now I am projected to win, but that is only because some of his starters have BYE weeks, which probably means his bench will go in and still destroy me.
I am starting Brees this week. If he does not have a good game, I am kind of screwed at the QB position. I will definitely have to look at a trade. I picked up Michael Pittman to go in for Peterson who is off this week. I hope that Lee Evans has a big game, maybe I can use him in a trade, or one of my other receivers.

Heroes: "Lizards"

This show just gets better with each episode. So much is going on, and we are only into the second episode, very exciting.
Peter
The Irish thugs interrogate Peter the old fashioned way: by beating the crap out of him. They want to know what he did with the iPods (apparently Irish thugs are not too smart, why would Peter, or anyone for that matter, steal the iPods and then leave themselves inside the container), and naturally Peter has no answer for them. Ricky, the leader and guy from Fight Club, sends his sister, Caitlin in to clean Peter up.
As she wipes up his blood, she notices that all his cuts are healed. Some more thugs come into the bar, and they are planning on roughing Caitlin up. Peter phases through the ropes holding him down and uses the blue energy on one guy, and telekinesis on another. He then punches a guy with a dose of super strength. Why can't I wake up with superpowers and no memory? That'd be pretty cool I think.
Ricky returns and he is very upset that Peter hurt the guys that came over, since the one is the son of some gangster that they were stealing the iPods for. He did not seem to care that they were going to rape his sister, but whatever, apparently no one interferes with Project Mayhem, sir...sorry, had to throw in a Fight Club reference. And yes, I realize that he did not actually say anything like that, but whatever.
Ricky wants Peter to help them on a heist, and in return, he will give Peter a box, which contains all of Peter's information he had on him when they found him. At least it has his driver's license and they started calling him Peter. It seems to me that Peter still cannot figure out how to access his powers, or he would have just mind-grabbed the box from ol' Ricky's hands.
Mohinder
To me this was a very funny part of the episode. Ned (let's just agree to call him Ned, not Bob, not Mr.Midas, but Ned) wants Mohinder to go to Haiti to check on a patient who may have the virus. Mohinder gets there and it is the Haitian, who thinks God is punishing him. Mohinder convinces him that maybe God sent Mohinder there to help him and the Haitian allows Mohinder to cure him.
Later, Mohinder tells the Haitian that the company he works for will be happy and the Haitian realizes who he must work for and the next scene we see is Mohinder sitting at a desk and Ned is there. Ned asks him about the Haitian, and Mohinder is confused and cannot remember finding him. Ned says that the cure must have worked, since the Haitian got his powers back and that they will chalk that up to a rookie mistake.
First off, Mohinder was very amusing in his whole memory loss thing, but later he is on the phone with Mr.B and he says "they bought the whole bumbling professor act." And when Mr.B asks if the trip was productive, Mohinder replies that "you should have the answer very shortly." Just then, the Haitian walks into Copy Kingdom and both Mr.B and he are smiling.
So, Mohinder has become quite the secret agent. How long can he keep it up though?
Maya & Alejandro
They go to a friend of their family, who will sneak them into Mexico. She has other people there and one of them says she is a healer. When she touches Maya to see what is wrong, she says that she is cursed and that they will not travel with her.
The lady taking them across leads them to an old pipe, and as she and Maya cross, a truck comes separating them from Alejandro. As they get through the pipe, the lady sees that Maya has black eyes and black stuff coming out of her eyes. The lady then gets the same thing, and apparently dies.
Alejandro catches up and grabs Maya. He then starts doing something that causes the black stuff to disappear, which then causes the old lady to wake up. They are happy she is alive, but she curses them and says they are the Devil. Now they are alone in the woods of Mexico, with absolutely no clue of where to go.
Parkman
Matt investigates the Kaito death. They find Angela Petrelli's fingerprint at the scene and bring her in for questioning. As they question her, Matt hears her think about revenge, so he asks her about it. She realizes he is reading her thoughts, and thinks very loudly "Get out of my mind!"
Nathan stops down to pick her up, and Matt says that they met in Texas. All of a sudden they hear screams and see her being attacked by nothing. Matt breaks the two-way mirror and as he goes in, there is nothing there, but Angela's face is all cut up. On a side note, it was lame that Matt broke the glass with a chair. I wanted Nathan to fly fullspeed into the glass and break it.
Hiro
Hiro decides to take TK's armor and save Yaeko. He disarms the eleven bandits she is fighting with and embarrasses them pretty easily. I enjoyed when he is threatening them and the one guy asks why TK keeps referring to himself in the third person.
Yaeko is grateful and is obviously in love with TK, or at least with this new and improved version. When Hiro returns to the bar, he tells Kensai (I will refer to the white version as Kensai, and to Hiro pretending as TK, just for clarification) that he can make Kensai great. Kensai does not believe him until Yaeko comes in and is all in love with him and wants him to save her father. Kensai agrees to go with Hiro and as he walks out the door, he is shot with arrows by the bandits.
Hiro removes an arrow and the wound heals, and Kensai recovers from "death." The two of them could make quite the badass pair.
Claire
Speaking of people who can heal, Claire sits in class listening to a lecture on lizards and how they can regenerate. She gets excited and starts to ask questions about whether humans could do that. The teacher says someday it may be possible to grow new limps from stem cells. West just stares at Claire and later wants to know why she hides the fact that she is interested in biology.
At home, Claire tells her dad that she wants to help people, that maybe they could use her blood to grow people limbs. She also starts to ask questions, specifically questions that fans have asked over and over, such as "if she loses a limb, does it grow back, or would she have to reattach it and let it heal itself?" Mr.B says that if the company found her, they would test her limits, by putting her in more pain than she can possibly fathom.
Later that night, she is watching TV and she decides to give it a shot. She takes a pair scissors and cuts her little toe off. At first nothing happens and she realizes that it hurts like hell to cut your toe off. Then, it starts to grow back, and after a few seconds, she has a brand new toe.
As she looks out the window, she sees West staring at her. She runs outside to confront him, but he is gone. Or is he? Mr.Muggles jumps and barks towards the sky. If Claire dates West, it would definitely complete that old saying that girls tend to go after guys like their father. Only in this case, she would be dating someone who shares the same power with her real daddy, Nathan. By the way, does anyone else think of Family Guy when they see Nathan's beard? I am ready for a bird to pop out of there.

Pee Wee Football
Sometimes I sit outside my apartment and listen to the football practices going on right beside my place. At first I thought it must be for high school football, but after going up and watching, I was shocked to see little kids out there.
Why was I shocked you might be asking? Well from the way the coach screamed at them, I assumed they must be somewhat older. Here is a sample of some of the things I heard him yelling:
"FOCUS! You need to focus, what is wrong with you today?"
"They (the team they are playing next) have a great offense, we must stop them at the line, if we do not stop them, we will lose and drop to second place."
"Jason (the QB I am assuming), if you leave that pocket one more time, I swear to God you will run laps until you puke!"
It was also funny to listen to him rattle off different plays like they were going to be playing in the National Title game against Florida or some shit. Seriously, little kids do not really need to have a playbook the size of most NFL books, keep it simple for them, give them the basics.
It reminds me of those horrible fathers I used to see at youth wrestling tournaments, making their kids lose weight and then screaming at them when they do something wrong out on the mat.
I am okay with parents getting their kids into sports and encouraging them to do well, but they need to try not to live their lives through their kids. The coach up there screaming at those kids probably never started a game of football in his life, he watches on TV and thinks he is the next Bill Cowher (who is from Crafton by the way).
Oh well, some people are just stupid.

Life Episode 101
I imagine a pitch meeting at NBC going something like this:
Exec: We need a show with a character similar to Dr. House, any ideas?
Underling1: Oooh, how about a cop show, with a know it all detective?
Exec: Great, but what is his problem?
Underling2: He could be a reformed drug addict!
Exec: Eh, that's a bit too like House, next idea.
Underling1: What if he went to jail for awhile for a crime he did not commit?
Exec: Okay, I like where this is going.
Underling2: And how about we toss in one of those everything is connected, so that all the cases he is solving somehow lead back to one giant case, and that would be his own case. Everyone seems to like that crap nowadays, like Lost and Heroes.
Exec: Yes, this sounds perfect.
Underling2: And we could throw in a partner who had a drug addiction!
Exec: Okay, fine, you can have a drug addict.
Yeah, I am sure that is how the discussion for the show Life went down, but you know what? It was still a pretty damn good first episode.
I hope they keep doing the documentary style interviews with people throughout the series. They definitely help break away from all the other cop dramas out there. Also, the lead character, Charlie Crews (played by Damian Lewis) is hilarious with his whole new-age, touchy feely approach and his addiction to good fruit. The fact that the guy has been locked up for twelve years and missed out on many of the technological advancements gives us some funny moments, such as watching him get excited because his car has BlueTooth and his partner can talk to him.
Speaking of his partner, mmmm, she can frisk me anytime. Detective Dani Reese, played by Sarah Shahi, has a past with drug abuse, but seems to be clean for the moment.
The show entertained me, and that is all that I can ask for. It seems this and Journeyman may be the two best new shows on TV, although I have yet to watch Reaper.

Smallville Season Seven

If any of you are watching the season premiere of Smallville, let me ask you one question: Was that not absolutely awesome watching Clark boil away an entire raging river with his heat vision???
Also, the chick that will play Kara (Laura Vandervoort), is smokin' hot.

Fantasy Football Week 3
I hope you did not think I was done writing about fantasy sports. Anyways, this week I won 71-55. The Chargers defense got me a really nice -2 points. Oh wait, -2 is bad right. Damn it.
I started Delhomme, which worked out in my favor. Other than that, my guys did okay. I am trying to get rid of my kicker and pick up anyone else, but it seems everyone in the league is doing the same thing.
Does anyone have any advice on trades I should try and make?

Journeyman Episode One

I do not know if I will write reviews for this show, but it is on after Heroes and I will probably watch it each week. The first episode was pretty cool. I enjoyed Kevin McKidd in Rome.
Dan Vasser is a writer with a wife and a kid. One day he travels back in time and saves a guy's life. While back in time he sees his ex-girlfriend, who is dead in the present.
Everyone around him thinks that Dan is going crazy or on drugs, since he has a bit of a dark history, with gambling I think. He keeps popping back in time and it always centers around Neal Gaines, the guy he saved.
In the present, he learns that Neal Gaines' wife and kid died in 1997 and that is the last period he goes back to. He stops Neal from murdering them, and when he returns to the present,he finds out that Neal's son, Jason, became a doctor and saved a bunch of kids in a bus accident.
His wife does not believe him. He takes her anniversary present back in time and hides it at their house, under the patio that will someday be there. When she does not believe him, he tears the patio up and pulls out her wedding ring, which he had taken to get another stone added. It is buried with a newspaper dated from 1997. She believes him and all is happy. This was cool, because I would have never thought to do that. Maybe I was tired, but I would have buried my phone or something. Not only did he prove his point, but he was romantic about it. Goddamn showoff. Now girls will want guys to go back in time to hide their presents.
The big twist in the show is that his old girlfriend, the one who died, is actually still alive, and is doing the same thing he is, bouncing around in time. Something tells me that his current wife is not going to like that one bit.
If you watched it, let me know what you thought. Oh yeah, the dead ex-girlfriend's name in real life is Moon Bloodgood. That has to be the coolest name ever. Photo brought to you courtesy of Maxim. I do not want to get sued or anything.

Heroes: "Four Months Later..."

The season premiere. Did you all get chills as the hour approached for the show start? Did your heart feel like it was going to explode when you heard Mohinder begin talking? Unfortunately, I had to watch mine through TiVo at 2 a.m., but I still got that feeling as I fast forwarded through the end of Chuck and a few commercials.
The bad thing about a season premiere or the sequel to a movie is that they can never really live up to your expectations or anticipation. Not saying that the show was a let down, but I just wanted so many answers, I wanted so much to happen. I wanted it to be twelve hours longs...Oh well. It was a great episode, and an awesome beginning to a new season. Anyways, lets get onto the recap of the show.
Mohinder
The show starts with Mohinder giving a speech about people with abilities. He says they are the key to our own evolution and that there is a plague out there that could wipe them all out.
As the speech ends, a man approaches him for an autograph and says how Mohinder's father and sister would be proud of him. Mohinder grabs the guy and slams him into the wall. He tells him he knows he works for the Company and that he is no longer afraid, nor will he run away.
The guy, played by Stephen Tobolowsky (Ned from Groundhog Day), tells Mohinder that no one takes his work seriously, but that the Company wants to fund his research, they want him to come up with a cure.
Later, Mohinder calls Noah Bennett (should I call him Noah, or should we still use Mr.B, or should I finally give in and just refer to him as HRG?) and tells him that the Company took the bait and that he is in. Mr.B says good work, and to be careful and that now they will be able to take down the Company.
That was a surprise I did not really see coming. I thought the guy had Mohinder convinced when he said that sometimes they have to put down certain people, just like Mohinder tried to do with Sylar.
Matt Parkman & Molly Walker
Matt is on a raid for NYPD and he goes into a hostage situation where he does not know which person is the bad guy. He uses his telepathy and takes down the real bad guy. It turns out the whole thing was a test for the department. The chief gives Matt a real badge and tells him he passed with flying colors, but wonders why he is so anxious to get back into action after having four bullets in his chest. Matt tells him that he has always wanted to be a cop and that those bullets were not going to stop him.
Now, I will be honest, I had completely forgotten what Molly Walker looked like. So when Matt goes to the school and gives her a hug. I thought it was his child, and I go annoyed. I was like "it's only been four months, the kid could not age that quickly! Unless that is the kids power..." Then I realized I am dumb and that it was Molly.
Molly's teacher (who I wish was my teacher) tells Matt that Molly is drawing weird pictures. Dark pictures of eyes, with the helix symbol. When they get home, we learn they live with Mohinder in his very luxurious apartment, Matt asks her about the pictures and she refuses to talk about them.
Matt can hear her nightmares while she sleeps and he hears a man's voice saying that he can see Molly. She wakes up and Matt tells her that he will protect her. On a side note, Greg, I think we can assume the evil person is a guy now.
The Bennett Family
Or I should I call them the Butler's now? That is their new name in their new home. Noah tells Claire how sorry he is for everything and that she has to be ordinary at school. She cannot stand out, or the Company will find them. And she cannot try out for the cheerleading squad.
He gives her the keys to the Nissan Rogue, which is a pretty sweet car, and says that it was going to be a birthday present. As she walks into school, she almost gets hit by a car, which makes Noah feel great about sending her out into the world.
The kid who almost hits her is named West. He sits by her in science class and asks her if she is a robot or an alien. Does she do what everyone expects (robots) or does she do what she wants (aliens). He decides she is a robot because she knows the answer to a question, but does not raise her hand.
Later in gym class, the cheerleaders are making fun of a girl, and Claire steps in and says she can do the stupid move they want Martha to do. As she climbs up the ladder she realizes this is what her dad does not want her to do, and she says she cannot do it.
That night at home, she calls Nathan (I will get to him in a minute)and says she misses Peter and she needs someone to talk to because she hates just being normal. He hangs up on her, but we see West watching through her window, and guess what? The kid can fly!
Mr.Bennett works at Copy Kingdom. His boss is a complete dick. He yells at Noah all the time and acts like copying is a very tough business. He wants Noah back from break and starts yelling at him. Noah grabs him by the finger and slams him down onto a table and tells him to back off. So much for staying under people's radar Noah.
Nathan
Nathan is a drunk. He has a huge beard (he looks like Jack did in the final episode of Lost). His wife left him, and his mother is there to yell at him. He tells her that she is evil and that it is her fault that Peter is gone.
After his phone call with Claire, he looks at himself in the mirror and see himself as horribly disfigured. I really have no comments on that right now. Is that how he sees himself? Has he manifested another ability? To look ugly in a mirror?
Hiro
Alright, now we get to our favorite nerdy time-traveler, Hiro. It's 1671, and Hiro sees his idle, Takezo Kensei about to be shot with arrows. He teleports them away from danger and learns that guy is not Takezo. The real Takezo comes to Hiro, and is upset that Hiro ruined his plan. Turns out he is not a very honorable person, and that he fights dirty. Also, he does not look like the guy in the paintings, he is a white guy, who is British.
They go to a village that T.K. was supposed to save, but instead it's seen burning down. The woman, whose father made the sword, confronts T.K. and wants him to help the village because they paid him a lot of money. Hiro says that she is the swordmaker's daughter, who T.K. marries. She takes the sword and starts to leave.
If you remember from last season, I said that Takezo Kensei looked a bit like Hiro. Something tells me, he is going to do all those great deeds and people will think it was done by T.K.
Ando and Kaito
Hiro's dad, Kaito, waits for his son to return and Ando waits with him. Ando brings him a newspaper, and in it is a picture of Kaito with a red helix on it. Ando asks what it means, and Kaito responds that "I will be dead in twenty-four hours." He sends Ando out to get him a sword.
Later Angela Petrelli finds a similar picture and meets up with Kaito at the Deveaux Building roof. Kaito says that it is no joke, they will both die, of the original twelve, Charles Deveaux, Mr. Petrelli, and Mr. Linderman have all died and that maybe they should die as well.
As Ando returns with the sword, a man in a hoodie tackles Kaito off the roof, but when Ando looks over the edge, only Kaito's body is there. What was Kaito's power?
Maya and Alejandro Herrera
These two are making their way to America from Hondorus. They are wanted for murder, and it seems that Maya is somehow responsible. The men driving them to Mexico want her to sit up front, and Alejandro says no, they knock him out and take her anyways. He chases after them and when he catches up, everyone in the truck is dead, with blood coming out of their eyes. Maya is crying.
What are their powers? Obviously when they are together, people are safe, but when she is out of his range, then she kills people. They are searching for Mohinder, who they think can cure them, but they are both very religious and think God gave them these powers as a test.
The End
The show ends in Ireland. I will say the actors playing the three thugs, had the worst Irish accents. Although, maybe that's a good thing because at least we could understand them. Anyways, these thugs are looking for a cargo container which has some iPods in it. They open it up and there are no iPods, just a man chained to the side. At first I thought it was Sylar, which would have been pretty sweet. However, the man turns to look at them and it is none other than our buddy Peter! The guys come to start hitting him and he blasts one of them with a weird blue energy. He says he does not know where the cargo is, nor does he remember who he is. He is wearing a necklace of the helix, much like the Haitian.
My thoughts on the episode??? It was awesome. I cannot wait for next Monday. The above picture is Maya, played by Dania Ramirez, who is really hot.

Heroes Preview Season Two

It has come upon us. The new season of Heroes is finally here. We can stop sitting around and doing nothing, and you can stop coming here and reading about my fantasy sports teams.
I read in Wizard that Tim Kring does not like to think of these as new seasons, picking up where the last one left off. This will be a new chapter in the story, there will be new characters and new threats.
The first half of the season will get us caught up on what happened after Nathan and Peter disappeared. Some new folks will got tossed into the mix, and we will learn about Hiro's life in feudal Japan.
Instead of just giving you a review of what the article's I have read said, I will instead give you my predictions for the season.
Hiro will be trained by Takezo Kensei, the legendary warrior we learned about last season. Oh yeah, Kensei is a white guy. Something tells me he has some interesting power. Maybe he is a teleporter as well, but he got stuck in that era and just never left....
I also believe we will see the return of Peter and Nathan. I have no clue in what capacity. Nathan comes back a bit darker than before. Him saving the day was not as altruistic as it seemed. He will use that to his advantage.
Claire will still be hot. I can guarantee that one. Also, all the new chicks that will be on the show will be hot too. I have no problem with that.
Any ideas on what the bad man's powers will be? You know, when Molly Walker said there was someone worse than Sylar. I do not think he was the one to rescue Sylar though. We will not see those two teaming up.
Anyways, that's all I got for the moment. Watch on Monday and I will write up the review and we can have discussing everything like we did last year.
