Superman vs. Batman

My friend Marie just asked me if Batman could beat Superman. She and a friend were arguing and she said that Batman is more badass and could beat Superman. I figured it is time to discuss this battle.

The first thing to remember is that these two heroes have no real reason to fight each other and neither individual would choose to kill the other. That being said, let's look at the times they have fought.

Batman Victories
In Dark Knight Returns, Batman is an outlaw and Superman works for the government. Superman is sent to stop Batman. Bats uses gauntlets that amp his strength up to equal Supes. He easily beats the crap out of Supes.

Another time is during Jeph Loeb's Hush series. Superman is controlled by Poison Ivy, and she wants him to kill Batman. Superman fights the control and will not kill Superman, which gives Batman the opportunity to use kryptonite and stop Supes.

My favorite comes from JLA, when Ra's Al Ghul uses Batman's files to defeat the entire JLA. It turns out that Batman has a dossier on each member and a method of how to defeat them.

That brings us to how Batman is able to defeat Superman. Planning. If he has the time to come up with a strategy, then yes, he can beat Superman. He would need gadgets and surprise to defeat Superman.

Superman Victories
Recently at the on-set of the whole Infinite Crisis storyline Maxwell Lord took control of Superman's mind. He made Supes see things, and one of those was that Doomsday killed Lois Lane. The person he was looking at was not Doomsday, but instead Batman. When Supes comes to the cave, Batman is completely off guard and is almost killed by Superman.

Well that is one of the only times I can remember. But, what does this tell us? If Superman attacked Batman unaware, Bats would not stand a chance. If Bats could not get to his kryptonite or some other weapon, Supes would easily kill him.

Hell, Superman could hover high above Gotham City, spot Batman and hit him with heat vision and just melt his body. Even Batman acknowledges this on many occasions. He usually thinks things like "if he ever attacked me, he could disable me before I had the chance to move." This is usually after they team up and fight some super-villain.

I guess my final verdict is that it would depend on the context of the battle. Has Batman decided to take Superman down? Does Superman know it is coming? Then Batman would win, but if Superman just shows up at the cave one day with the intent to kill Batman, well then, Superman has the upper hand. He could grab Bats and fly him up into the sky and just drop him.

This reminds me of a Superman story I thought of before. It revolves around the idea of Superman snapping and finally turning into the monster Lex Luthor believes him to be. Superman realizes the Earth needs ruled over by someone like himself. He knows the one man to stand in his way will be Batman, and so he visits the Batcave and kills Batman without a fight. Batman never sees it coming. After that he starts taking the other heroes down, one by one. This idea was kind of seen Invincible.

Anyways, I hope this helps people out. These two would never fight to the death, and it would definitely depend on the circumstance to decide who would win.

Heroes Part Seventeen

This may have been my favorite episode so far. It was all about Claire and her father. We learned many little things about the mysterious Mr. Bennett.

The episode starts with Teddy and Matt breaking into the Bennett house and being surprised by the return of the family. We then pick up where we left off last week, with those two holding the family hostage. Matt is against the entire thing, he does not want to endanger the family.

When they begin to question Mr.B, he starts thinking about his beginnings with the Company. His boss, Thompson, is the great B-movie actor Eric Roberts (I guess Lorenzo Lamas was busy) and he is telling Mr.B how his front will be the head of PrimaTech Paper. He also will have a partner who is one of them. It turns out to be Claude, which explains how Claude knew so much about Mr.B.

Turns out Teddy is a bit unstable, and will kill everyone if Mr.B does not give them a cure. Claire says "He's not a paper salesman." Which Teddy responds with "I guess she's not Daddy's little girl anymore." I really liked that line, lots of emotion during these scenes.

We then see Claude, Mr.B, and Thompson outside of a burned down house. There is Hiro's dad holding a small baby, he tells Mr.B in Japanese, that Mr.B will be taking the girl and raising her, and if her powers ever manifest he must turn her over to the company. We also get to see a young Hiro playing Gameboy (I am sure Gideon will know what game it was).

Matt tries to read Mr.B's mind, but Mr.B is thinking in Japanese, very clever. Ted gets pissed and goes to shoot Mr.B's wife, but Mr.B and Claire both keep thinking to Matt that Matt should shoot Claire, which he does. Matt and Mr. B begin to work together in order to calm Ted down, since Matt realized that Teddy is willing to kill everyone for revenge, not for the truth. The take Claire upstairs and she heals, Mr.B explains that he has been protecting Claire. If his employers found out about her gift she would be taken. Matt says he is telling the truth.

This is where we first see the Haitian. Mr.B says his wife stumbled upon his gun and his sedation kit. Thompson says she will have to be dealt with and it seems Mr.B is willing to allow that. Turns out that Thompson has a Haitian boy who can erase memories and who is mute. He said he drew a picture of himself pulling memories out of peoples minds. Thompson said he wanted to put in on his fridge.

Matt and Mr.B go to PrimaTech in order to get information for Teddy. Claire tries to rescue her mom and brother, but fails. Teddy has her and her mother tied up (Lyle got away). At PrimaTech they meet up with the Haitian, and Mr.B is upset that he did not erase Claire's memory, but it turns out that he was under orders from someone else in Claire's life.

We then have another flashback of when Mr.B had to shoot Claude for hiding one of gifted people. Turns out Claude did not like experimenting on his own people. Mr.B shoots him twice and Claude falls off a bridge turning invisible, explains how he was able to get away from the Company.

As Matt and Mr.B come back, Teddy is getting very antsy, the Haitian comes in and releases Claire and her mom. Mr.B gives Teddy a folder, which has information about Teddy's powers. Mr.B explains that he does not have a cure, nor did he make them this way. Just then Thompson walks in and shoots Teddy, whose powers go haywire.

Everyone clears out of the house, but Mr.B is trying to give Teddy a tranquilizer. Claire runs back in and takes the tranq from her dad and administers it to Teddy. When Claire walks out of the house, her skin is melted, but starting to grow back. Thompson sees this, and Mr.B has to act surprised.

Back at PrimaTech, Mr.B and Thompson discuss how the Haitian was hiding Claire's powers. Thompson says it will be a shame to have to kill a second partner. He then wants to know when Mr.B will bring Claire in, and he responds that he will bring her in right now. They then discuss Matt. Thompson says he would make a good partner, since you could not lie around him. So maybe Matt will have a job when they wake him up.

We then see a nice scene of Mr.Bennett and Claire picking out glasses. He finally needs them, and she wants to know if she will need them. This is when he tells her she was adopted. When he finally puts on the horned-rim glasses we have all come to love, he asks Claire how he looks and she says "Like my dad." Awe.

Mr.B is taking Claire down the same bridge where he shot Claude. He does not know what will happen to her or when they will see each other again. When they get out, the Haitian is there. He shoots Mr.B in the stomach, in a place where he can survive, and then erases her mind. Looks like the Haitian and Claire will be a fun team, probably going to NYC to see Uncle Peter.

It seems that Hiro's father is more important than some of you speculated. He is up there in the Company. No I do not think the Company equals the company that Hiro and Ando work for. This is some shadow group, like the Bildeburg's or whatever. Maybe the TriLateral Commission. Or hell, the Illuminati.

Also, we have learned that Mr.B is not evil. He was protecting his daughter all along. I bet if I go back through the posts I can find which people thought that and which of you did not.

I also would like to say the use of B&W for the flashback scenes was great, reminded me of American History X, without the anal rape.

Let's hear what you thought!

24: 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.

Jack did not kill anyone. He even allowed Logan to help them with the whole Gradenko situation. Normally Jack would have tortured Logan into making him call the Russian Consulate and get the information that way. Apparently Logan is doing all this for altruistic reasons, I guess some sort of redemption.

The other fun thing in the episode was Jack and Marilyn having some nice sexy eyes time. Jack is pretty pimp, he has Audrey somewhere still in love with him, he is working on his evil brother's wife, plus he has that lady from last season who he was shacking up with. At least we know being tortured does not affect Jack's game.

The worst story so far has been the attempted assassination of the President. Tom is locked away in some room, inside a bunker, which has no monitoring equipment. The Secret Service must really suck. I hope Wayne Palmer is okay, and that Assad or whatever his name, is still alive and they can track down Chad Lowe and have him beheaded.

Next week Jack will kill 0. He is breaking into the Russian Consulate and well he knows he cannot kill anyone or war will probably be started. He has good luck with that kind of stuff though.

Two Year Anniversary

Here is something you do not know about me, despite my cold, black, mostly evil heart, I have a bit of a romantic side. It does not come out too often, but for Kacie and my two year anniversary it did. Friday was the actual date, but we decided to go out tonight for dinner.

We got all dressed up and went to The Tavern, which I had never been to and Kacie actually worked at when I first met her. We started out with the calamari, which was quite good. Kacie had the Chicken Julian (I think that's what it was called) and I had the Seafood Crepes with some kind of sauce, it was awesome. It was stuffed with shrimp, orange ruffie, and scallops. What's awesome is you get unlimited sides, which I did not really take advantage of, but if I was really fat, well they would have been in trouble.

I did come to a realization while I was there though. I will never be "high class." The older couple beside us were very prim and proper, and really had this attitude that they were better than the girl waiting on them. It definitely entertained me when they were saying to each other how "these server types cannot break their routines, they have to serve drinks, then the salad, and then the entree." I guess they wanted their salads with the food or something, but their attitude was like they were above the poor girl waiting on them. Like she was some kind of trained monkey that could not break routine. She did not bring the salads, the food runner did, maybe the food runner screwed up or something.

Anyways, I would like to thank Kacie for the two years, which is a year and a half longer than any other relationship I've ever had. I hope we spend many more years together.

Enjoy this nice picture of Kacie.

Presidential Election 2008

Just curious on everyone's ideas about our next President. Honestly I wish it could be David Palmer, but we just have to accept that Jack's father killed him and we must move on. Wait, 24 isn't real. Damn it. Anyways, below is a poll about who you vote for.

Be honest, and if you want to mention another person in the comments go for it. This may lead to something bigger later, or it may not, who knows.

Who would you vote for President?
Hilary Clinton
Barack Obama

Funny Phone Conversations

Yesterday at work, Karen had a wonderful phone conversation with a woman inquiring about soup. Here it is (some details added for my amusement).

Karen: Thank you for calling XXXXXXXXXXX, this is Karen speaking, how may I help you?
Lady: I would like to order soup. What size containers do yinz have?
Karen: We have eight ounce cups, twelve ounce bowls, sixteen ounce pints, and thirty-two ounce quarts.
Lady: (becoming annoyed) Well that does not help me, how big is a quart??
Karen: Thirty-two ounces, four cups of soup.
Lady: (yelling) You are not helping me, I need to know how many people this will feed. Why can't you just tell me how much soup I am getting???

Ways Karen could have responded (these would most likely have gotten her fired):
1. Well ma'am, are you really fat? If so, you may suck down a quart of soup with no problem.
2. I would say you are getting around 195 medium sized spoonfuls.
3. Do you know the Dollar Family that comes in here? Well the Father usually eats about 7 cups of soup, how do you compare with him?
4. I'm sorry ma'am that my use of numbers has frightened you. Let me put it in this perspective, you are getting about as much soup as you get oil in your car or in some cases as much semen as an elephant ejaculates.
5. (Using hand gestures to show how large the container is) It's about this much. Oh wait, you do not have a video phone, damn savages.
6. Why don't you just wait until you get here, look at the different size containers, and judge for yourself. I don't even know you, I don't know how much you or your family can eat. A quart of soup feeds a whole tribe in Ethiopia, unless it is the Italian Wedding, which no one in the world likes, but anyways, I digress.
7. Wait, what was your question again?
8. What kind of burger did you want?
9. Me no speaka English lady.

Let me know if you have any good suggestions of things Karen could have said to the moronic lady on the phone.

Lost: Episode 309

Last night's episode promised us three big answers. I really do not know if those were the three biggest questions most of us were asking. From what I gathered, these were the questions:
1. What happened to the people from the plane who the Others took?
2. Where do the Others actually live?
3. What does Jack's tattoo say?

The answers:
1. Jack sees the stewardess from the flight and asks her what they were doing? She tells him they were brought here to watch, which pisses Jack off, especially when a little girl asks about Ana Lucia. So that is what we learned about them, they watch stuff.

2. Carl explains to Sawyer and Kate that he and Alex used to lay out in the backyard and name the stars. He tells them that they do not live on the smaller island, but instead on the island where the Losties are. Isabel (the hard ass sheriff of the Others) also tells Jack that most of the Others hate coming to "this" island where they have special projects.

3. The flashback was a story of Jack in Thailand. He meets a girl, Achara and they begin having lots of sex. She has a secret about her job, and one night he follows her. He thinks she is a tattoo artist, but she explains that she has a gift that allows her to see who people really are. She then marks them. Jack wants her to do him, but she says that she cannot define an outsider, but he does not care. She tells him that he will be a great man, and a leader, but this will cause him to be lonely, frightened, and angry.

Later, when Jack, Juliet, Ben and the rest of the Others are leaving Hydra Island, Isabel reads Jack's tattoo, she says "he walks amongst us, but he is not one of us." Jack says that he knows what it says, but that is not what it means. I guess Jack really wants to believe that he will not be lonely and angry, haha, good luck Jack, you are already there.

I just read online that the only answer given was Jack's tattoo, the promo people just said three big answers. Those bastards. Anyways, it was still a good episode, plus Bai Ling played Achara, and she is hot.

Up top is a picture of Kiele Sanchez (Nikki), just because I wanted to look at her.

Heroes Part Sixteen

Wow, what a great episode!

The episode starts out with Ted Sprague meeting some chick who has the power to read electronic signals. She can access computers, the internet, whatever else I guess. I wonder if this is one of those powers that the writers have not thought out fully. She is probably more powerful than they thought.

She explains to Ted that she knows who did this to them. Her and Ted will find them and make them pay.

Matt's wife finds a diamond ring in the drawer and thinks it is a gift for her. Matt gives it to her, but that turns out pretty bad. She takes it to get resized and then finds out that it is worth $40,000. She wants the truth from Matt, and he gives it to her. She immediately wants him to give the diamonds back. He agrees, but then gets a phone call about meeting someone.

He arrives at a cemetery and finds Teddy and the chick there. They explain about Primatech and how they track people using radio-isotopes or something. Teddy wants Matt to join so they can make sure Mr. Bennett is telling the truth.

Peter is getting his ass beaten by Claude (who is pretty good with a staff if I do say so myself), and Claude is constantly taunting him to use another power. Peter finally taps into Syler's telekinesis and stops the staff from hitting him. The talk for awhile about birds and whatnot, and then Claude gets shot with a taser. We see Mr. Bennett and the Haitian wearing infrared goggles and they shoot at Peter, he stops the darts with his mind, then grabs Claude and tosses him off the roof. He jumps, catches Claude, and flies away from the building.

Back at Peter's place, Claude gets pissed and says that Peter led them to him. Peter does not know who they are. Claude shows Peter the marks on his neck, and then figures out that it must be Isaac who is in contact with Mr. Bennett. Claude is angry and leaves Peter.

Hiro is saved from the closet by a guy from the Nevada Gaming Commission. The NGC Dude is looking for Hope. Hiro says he can help him because he has to find Ando. The NGC Dude tells Hiro that is bad to have a partner because you only end up with their blood on your hands.

Hope and Ando stop at a bus stop, and Ando tries to help her with the bag, but it rips open and there are tons of chips inside. She pulls a gun on him, but Hiro and NGC Dude show up. There is a shoot out, Ando gets hit in the arm, and Hiro & Ando decide to hide in the luggage compartment of a bus. Hope comes over to shoot Ando, and as she pulls the trigger, Hiro concentrates and reverses time. The bullet goes back in the gun causing a misfire/backfire. Hiro does not tell Ando that his powers worked, but tells Ando that he must return to Japan. Hiro does not want to endanger Ando's life anymore. There is a sad parting, but as Hiro gets on the bus he is greeted by Stan Lee. I guess after Who Wants To Be a Superhero, Stan needed some more money and had to get a cameo role on the show. They kept hyping it online that Stan Lee would be on the show, but this was kind of lame. He said like one line and that was it. Oh well.

Claire is getting more and more pissed about her mom's continued mental illness. When her mom finally gets sick and needs to go to the hospital, Claire confronts her dad. She tells him she knows about the Haitian and she blames her dad for everything. When they get home from the hospital, Teddy is waiting for them, Mr. Bennett tells Lyle to take his mother out of the house, but Matt is blocking the door. Matt says he wants some answers.

Mohinder and Syler visit a lady in Montana who has superhearing. She seems pretty cool and she can tell that something is off about Syler. When the two guys go back to the hotel, Mohinder tells Syler about how his father died, and then Syler gives some weird answers which had to have crept Mohinder out. Why doesn't Mohinder call Mr. Bennett and ask him if Syler is still in custody, or if he has a picture of him? Syler returns to the ladies house, and she says "I didn't hear your footsteps." Good for Syler, he hovered above the ground, so she wouldn't hear him coming.

The next day as Syler and Mohinder go back to see the lady, Syler is having headaches because everything is so damn loud. Mohinder finds the lady dead and realizes it must have Syler since her head was cut open.

Peter goes to confront Isaac and they argue about how Peter is a danger. Peter tells him that he is trying to learn to control it, but Isaac just wants to give him over to Mr. Bennett. Isaac pulls the gun that Mr. Bennett gave him, but Peter goes invisible and starts throwing paint cans at Isaac. We definitely get to see a darker, angrier Peter. Isaac takes two shots, and then realizes that he shot Simone. As she dies Peter and Isaac just stare at each other.

I love that Peter is beginning to truly grasp his powers, I cannot wait until he and Syler mix it up again. It does seem that when Syler acquires someone's power, it becomes amplified somehow. I know this was said earlier, but it's becoming more clear. However, when Peter meets up with him, he should be able to mimic him, power for power, but also intensity of each power as well.

I think we are also going to see Hiro's quest truly begin. He will have to learn to fight and how to speak clear English if he wants to survive. Also, I am sure most of you are happy that his powers are still there, and that he does not really need the sword to use them.

I wonder what Claire's next move will be? She cannot run away, or could she? I would like to know what some of you think Mr. Bennett's first name is. Some have said Michael, since Syler's first name is Gabriel, it helps with the archangel theme. I know the actor hopes it is Anthony, so he can be Tony Bennett, but I highly doubt that is his name.

Anyways, let me know what you think, and please more people comment than last week (0).

24: 3:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

Well I was right! Jack killed two!!!

Jack rescues Marilyn and Milo (who took a bullet, he should get head for that). He questions Marilyn and she admits that it was Jack's father and that he had threatened to kill Josh.

Morris feels like crap about not being a hero like Milo. He goes out and buys a bottle of liquor and starts to chug, but then dumps it out. Turns out he is a recovering alcoholic. Chloe and Milo figure it out, but they believe him when he says he spit it out. He basically realizes that he can wallow in self-pity or he can suck it up and get back to work.

Jack gets Josh back, and plans on allowing his father to put a bullet in his head. He tells his dad how he did not turn his back on the family, but that he never thought he was good enough or some crap like that. He keeps waiting for his dad to shoot him, but it never comes. He looks and his dad has taken off. Outside is a cell phone, it says a number for Jack to call. He calls it and the person on the other end is none other than ex-President Charles Logan. He knows where Gradenko is, or at least he said something about it.

Pretty good episode I thought, I hope Jack kills Logan though. Next week, I say 1 kill.

Ghost Rider

Tonight I saw Ghost Rider. It was okay, nothing too special. It is what one would expect from Mark Steven Johnson. He directed Daredevil. This was not as bad as Catwoman or Constantine, but not nearly as good as say Spider-Man, or hell even Fantastic Four (just kidding).

Nick Cage was pretty good as Johnny Blaze, although some of GR's powers were actually the Danny Keitch GR (the Penance Stare). I will say this, early in the movie, the CGI is absolutely terrible. GR looks like a bad early 90s video game.

Peter Fonda was pretty cool as Mephistopheles. He made a joke about Johnny's bike being nice, which from what I understand was basically the same bike he rode in Easy Rider.

Overall Grade: B-

Recommended Reality Shows

The other night while I was at my mom's house, I watched my first episode of American Idol. I came up with some ideas how to make this show and a few others better.

1. American Idol: No one cares about how good these singers are, people just want Simon to trash somebody. Instead, I suggest just sending Simon to karaoke bars around the country and just ripping apart people. We can add in some fun, like the production crew can buy drinks for people and try to hook people up who would never get together. It would mix together Blind Date with American Idol.

2. America's Next Top Model/Project Runway: These shows feature profession's that only a select few care about. I think America's Next Top Brain Surgeon would be a huge hit. Each week they perform surgeries on patients and are judged by how effectively and efficiently they are. I even have the catchphrase the host can say: "I am sorry, you did not make the right cut." Or something close.

3. Survivor: I know some others have made this suggestion, but I like it. Put a few weapons on the island, drop the contestants and tell them the last one to make it out gets $10,000,000. It would be fun to watch them trying to survive each other and the island itself.

4. Amazing Race: Combine this show with that show where they followed those people up Mount Everest. The first team to reach the summit gets $1,000,000,000. Lots of people would freeze to death, very entertaining.

5. Another good race idea would mix Amazing Race with America's Most Wanted. Five people are chosen to go from L.A. to NYC, but the catch is their names are given to all police agencies. They have to get across the country without getting arrested. They start out without a vehicle. They have carte blanch, so they can steal a car if needed. You could see some fun high speed chases and maybe a good death.

Let me know if you have any ideas of your own.

Joke Stealing

Recently I saw a youtube clip of Joe Rogan disrupting one of Carlos Mencia's sets. Rogan was accusing Mencia of stealing jokes. I guess youtube pulled the clip off the internet, but I am sure if you look hard enough you can find it.

Anyways, a wiki search of Joe Rogan has a little history of his battle against other joke stealers, including Dane Cook, Denis Leary, and Mencia.

Obviously Mencia is a bit of a hack. I do not find him that funny, and it is amusing that he steals material. Making bad jokes about Mexicans can get really old. Do any of you actually watch him?

As most of you know, I enjoy Dane Cook, but I have noticed that some of his material feels like it was taken from other comedians I have seen. I noticed the other night (I cannot remember the guys name) this comedian who was on Tourgasm with Cook, made a joke very similar in nature to the kind Cook uses. The show seemed like it came from early 2000ish. The two guys may be good friends and just have similar styles, which is my guess.

I have noticed though that many comedians seem to take material from George Carlin. Does that mean they steal his shit? Not really. Carlin talks about everything, so it would not be that hard to make the same observation as him.

On the other hand, Denis Leary blatantly steals Bill Hicks' Jim Fixx joke. I guess Hicks and Leary were friends until Hicks learned Leary was stealing some of his material. I guess there is a joke that goes "How come Bill Hicks never became as popular as Denis Leary?" The response: "Because there is no cure for cancer." No Cure for Cancer was the name of Leary's comedy special, and Hicks died of cancer (sad that I have to explain this to some people.)

Roustabout Zwei

Last night I went back to Roustabout, Kacie joined me this time, which was a nice V-Day time. The first band canceled due to the weather, but the second band, The High Strung made it all the way from Detroit.

They played for about 40 minutes before calling it quits in order to try and make it to wherever they had to get to. I could not blame them, the roads were horrible. They sounded a bit whiny for my taste, so it was definitely not my kind of band, but still enjoyable. They had a song that seemed pretty good from what I could hear of it (they were expecting a much larger crowd, so the music was extremely loud) called The Key (or maybe the Curator). I really cannot remember.

It was a fun time, Kacie got drunk and puked. That is always a plus.

Lost: Episode 308

Answers. Well sorta. I know most of you will say that we did not get any answers, but I disagree. We learned about Desmond, what happened to him and why he sees the future. Technically he does not see the future, instead his life is flashing before his eyes, like it did when he turned the key. Now though, it is still going into the future.

When the key turned he went back in time and tried to change things, but found that he could not. He meets a lady who knows what he is trying, and she explains that the universe has a way of righting the course.

It turns out that Charlie is going to die, Desmond has been trying to prevent it, but he cannot help him forever. It will be sad if Charlie dies, he is one of my favorite characters.

Next week, they claim we will get 3 big answers. It seems we learn what happened to the people the Others took.

Heroes Part Fifteen

No Peter??? What the hell was up with that? Anyways, this was a pretty decent episode, especially that we now have a connection between Jessica and the rest of the heroes.

Matt takes a job guarding Malsky, which he thinks should be easy, but Malsky believes he may need a guy who can use a gun. Turns out that when Malsky quit working for Linderman he stole a ton of money and now wants to buy some diamonds. Linderman has hired Jessica to kill Malsky. Luckily for Matt he can hear people's thoughts. He can hear her coming and is able to get the drop on her, unfortunately she can break out of her cuffs and kill Malsky anyways.

Claire's mom goes to the hospital and it turns out she is having severe memory loss. Claire is not very happy with her father. She leaves and goes to see Meredith, who had already made a deal for $100K with Nathan to keep quiet. I love that Meredith tells Claire that her dad will give them $50K and that they will split it. What a bitch. Claire leaves and Nathan shows up, but she thinks he does not care about her because she listened in on his and Meredith's conversation.

When Claire goes home, her mom is yelling at the crazy dog. She does not remember having a dog, or who Claire is. Way to go Mr. Bennett, you have completely fried your wife's mind. She was probably a nuclear engineer once.

Mohinder is having no luck getting ahold of people, but then Zane calls him and wants Mohinder's help. Zane opens the door and Syler is standing there. When Mohinder comes to the house, Syler is there and he now has Zane's power. Zane's power is pretty crazy, it seems like he can melt objects, or at least metal. Mohinder and Syler are going to team up and track down other heroes, way to go Mohinder.

I loved the ending, Matt decides to pocket the diamonds because the cop was thinking about how Matt was such a loser. Good for Matt.

Hiro and Ando meet a dancer who wants them to get her bag from her boyfriend's room. Ando is all about it, since she is pretty hot. They get the bag, but it turns out that the chick was using them. Hiro confronts her and ends up getting locked in a closet. Ando and the chick (Hope is her name) leave, and then Ando gets arrested by the Nevada gaming commission. The guy they stole the bag from is from the NGC.

Well let me know what ya thought of it.

24: 1:00 pm.-3:00 p.m.

Only one freakin' kill from Jack, yet again. This is getting ridiculous. He better go on a rampage and start killing a whole shit ton of people.

Morris gets his ass beaten and then a drill shoved through his shoulder before he gives in and helps reprogram the nukes. Jack comes to the rescue, but not before Fayad gets away and leaves one nuke to go off. Jack diffuses the bomb, but is very upset with Morris.

Jack's father is really evil, now using his grandson as a hostage. Also, why do they bother letting tech people into the field. They always come very close to dying. Why do people never say anything they should, for example why wouldn't Josh's mom just say to Jack, "your father just threatened to kill Josh if we do not go to a different address." Then he could make some calls and fake everything. Makes more sense to me.

Anyways, the episode was not all that good for 2 hours. I mean c'mon, Jack being questioned about his brother's death. He was responsible for the death of the president! Who cares about the shithead.

Next week, his kill count will be 2.

Roustabout

After Lost, I went to the Darkhorse for an ice, cold beer. I did not know that it was Roustabout! In fact I had no clue what the hell Roustabout! was. I learned that every Wednesday they have indie bands come in and play, and that most of them are really good.

Locksley was the band last night. They were very good, sounding something like the Strokes early stuff. They have that fun upbeat 60s BritPop sound, which is always fun and enjoyable. If I get the chance I may purchase their new record.

Anyways, I think I will continue going there on Wednesday's. It was much more fun than listening to Jonathan sing Legalize It at the Arena. Or all the other crap that is regurgitated week after week. So if anyone wants to come next Wednesday, let me know.

Lost Returns: Episode 307

Last night was the first episode of Lost, which many of you have complained about, but I have never given up on. Last nights episode was very good, with a nice back story on Juliet.

The question is what happened to her once she got onto the island to make her such a cold, calculating bitch. Did they threaten to kill her sister? Did Ben have sex with her? Hmm, only time will tell.

Jack's plan seemed good, until Juliet told Dan to kill Sawyer and Kate. Jack held out though, and Ben woke up and was not pleased. Juliet then had to track Sawyer and Kate down, and shoot Dan herself.

So Kate and Sawyer are going back to their island and next week intend to mount a rescue mission for Jack. Unfortunately I think Jack is starting to like the other side of the island. He has Juliet (since Kate is buy sleeping with Sawyer) and he gets cheeseburgers!!! Why the hell would he want to leave? They also let him watch movies, although if they force him to watch Operation: Dumbo Drop, he just may kill himself.

Anyways, I still enjoy the show. Even though they do not give us answers, I have patience and would rather go five years with tons of questions than two weeks with all the answers.

Heroes Part Fourteen

This episode starts out with Claude (which is not his name, I hope most people realize that the original Invisible Man was named Claude Rains, but I will call him this since other online things have used that name for him) and Peter. Claude is giving him all his wisdom, which pretty much involves stealing stuff. He does have some fun with Peter by leaving him with some ladies purse and then just walking away. Peter kind of freezes and looks like a deer in the headlights.

Mr. Bennett comes to see Sylar's body and when he goes inside, he learns that his doctor is dead, and then Sylar attacks him and leaves him locked in his cell. He takes Mr. Bennett's wallet and now knows where Claire lives.

Claire and Zak convince Claire's mom to let them go to Lubbock Aquarium to see a manatee, which she agrees, but in reality they are going to Kermit to see Claire's real mom. They get to Kermit and Claire's mom lives in a trailer park. Her and Claire talk for a bit, then Claire explains that she has to show her something. She cuts herself and then heals, Meredith does not freak out, but instead shows Claire that she can create fire. She then says "some family." So dad has powers too?

Hiro's dad is not too impressed with his son's destiny. He wants him to come home and become a VP in the company. Hiro cannot abandon his destiny. All Ando can really say is that Hiro's sister is hot. Hiro finally agrees to take the position and then proves he is incompetent compared to his sister, who Daddy Hiro finally realizes should be the heir to the company.

Simone visits Isaac, and learns that he is searching for Peter. He has drawn some odd pictures, especially one of the city destroyed, but most of them focus on the building where her dad lived, also where Claude feeds the pigeons.

Claude tries to convince Peter that he needs to let go of his feelings for people, that he needs to realize that people suck. They follow Simone and see her almost kissing Isaac. Claude and he go up to the roof and have an argument, but then Claude grabs him and throws him off the roof. Peter lands on the roof of a cab and is impaled. He pulls the metal out and starts to heal. Claude comes down and says that well he did not fly, but at least he used a different power. Peter realizes that he used Claire's power because he thought of her before he hit the ground. He then has another vision of the future and starts to freak out, so Claude knocks him out.

Sylar goes over to Mr. Bennett's house and talks to his wife and the idiot dog from hell. She wants him to stay for dinner and they talk about Claire. Syler keeps saying how she is special and well that freaks the old lady out, then he uses his telekinesis to smash the phone and slam her into a cabinet. He goes in for the kill, but Mr. B shows up with the Haitian and Sylar barely escapes. If only he could have killed the dog. Claire's mom gets her mind wiped, yet again, and is pissed because Claire skipped school. Mr. Bennett needs to be more careful, seriously, if Arnold from True Lies could get away with being a spy for so long, then so can Mr.B.

Linderman has it so that Niki is released from prison. She goes home, but guess what? It's Jessica, Niki is trapped in the mirror or something. Still worthless.

Isaac calls Mr. Bennett and says he thinks Peter may be invisible, since he just painted him by a taxi cab, but half of him is clear. Mr. Bennett says that an old friend may not be dead then. Hmmm, Claude and Mr. Bennett, interesting.

Meredith calls Claire's real father and says that "our daughter knows about me." The man on the other end is...Nathan! It looks like Ryan was right the other night and I was obviously wrong. The question I have seen bouncing around the internet is whether Nathan knew about Claire being alive, or that he believed her to be dead. I think from his reaction he thought she was dead. Also, remember when Mr. Bennett captured him, they did not know each other. Follow me for a second, if Mr. Bennett took Nathan's child, which Nathan could have been worried about a child out of wedlock hurting his political chances, then he may have been willing to give the child up, or have it killed.

Okay, so that is a horrible theory, I do not believe that Mr. Bennett knows that Nathan is the father.

Anyways, in next weeks episode we see someone getting tossed out a window. I really hope since they eliminated Mohinder and Matt this week that they replace Jessica next week. We do see Mohinder and Sylar working together to find more people from the list, that can't be good.

Let me know what you think, I promise I will answer comments this week, since I am not nearly as busy.

24: 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m.

Kacie thought Jack would have 0 kills, I said 4. Jack only took down one baddie, but his dad also took out one, which we should start a Bauer family kill count.

Jack then gets to go back and torture Graem some more. It was fun to watch Jack hugging him and then screaming at him. I love the term interrogation package, I may name my penis that.

Graem admits that he was the one behind Palmer's death, as well as Michelle and Tony. He also was behind framing Jack. I thought this was the point where Jack would snap and kill him, but he stayed calm, especially after looking at his father.

Jack and his dad have a nice heart to heart, and we begin to understand that Jack has a really fucked up family.

It turns out that Morris is the engineer who can program the nukes. They lure him out with a message that his brother was in Valencia and was exposed to the nuke. Shouldn't CTU figure out by now to not let any of their people leave during a crisis.

Kacie was able to predict that Jack's dad was a bad dude, and he definitely bumped his kill count up to two for this episode by killing Graem. It was cool to find out that Graem was just playing with Jack, that he can also take torture. I want to see Jack's dad tortured.

My guess for next week is 3. I have a feeling it will be high, but I will stay conservative.

Super Bowl XLI First Half Thoughts

-The sound quality has been absolutely horrible. Must be the rain, way to go CBS, try to be prepared next time. The game is in Miami, I guess they did not think it may rain there.

-Billy Joel sings the national anthem, why didn't they have a canopy over him? Did they ruin a perfectly good piano?

-Devin Hester is really good. I love that Vinatieri is kicking wherever Hester is not.

-Fumbles, lots and lots of fumbles.

-Commercials, nothing too spectacular, but there were a few that made me laugh. A few made Kacie laugh uncontrollably, especially the Blockbuster one, where the animals are clicking a mouse, and he freaks out when they say they need to plug him in. I thought Kacie was going to pass out from laughing. I liked the FedEx on the moon, not because it was good or anything, but because at the end a dude gets hit by a meteor.

-What the hell is Prince wearing on his head??? I really think they should have had Dave Chapelle do his Prince imitation, that would have been much better. Okay, I actually cannot complain, it's not bad.

Heroes Part Thirteen

First off, I apologize to everyone for the tardiness of this post. There really is no excuse for me.

This episode began with Peter following the Invisible Man asking him to teach him about his powers. The InM did not seem to care about Peter's problems, but mentions that he has met others with Peter's powers, and later he called him an empath.

Hiro and Ando are taking Isaac's painting to Linderman when someone with a gun tries to stop them. They run away and hide. Hiro is unable to use his power at all at this point. He and Ando have some nice discussions, and Hiro explains that he needs his help on the quest. When they are finally discovered, Hiro gets away, but Ando is caught. Hiro gives himself up to save Ando, but they are both taken anyways.

Claire and Zack try to find anything about Claire's real parents on her dad's computer, but there is nothing there. She asks the Haitian and he says her mom died in a fire in a small town in Kermit, Texas. He knows nothing of her father. Mr. Bennett comes home and sees Claire and Zack, and they tell him they are lab partners in Bio and have a report to do about manatees. Claire acts like she is annoyed to be paired with him, and her dad reminds her that they used to be friends.

The two of them continue looking into the fire in Texas, and it turns out that a woman was killed along with her 18 month old daughter. They begin calling everyone in Kermit with the same last name (does anyone remember if the woman's name was Barbara Gordon?) and at the end Claire tells the last lady how she might be the daughter, and the woman says that she is her mother, and it turns out she has a power, she is a pyro.

Matt goes up for review in his department, and they read his statement and think he is absolutely nuts, so he decides to say he made it all up. They suspend him for six months, which is good for us because it might allow Matt the chance to get out to NYC or track down the Haitian, or a little of both. I think he will eventually hear from Mohinder and that will lead him to NYC.

Speaking of Mohinder, he and Nathan try to confront Peter. Mohinder thinks he can help Peter, but Peter does not think he has the time. He escapes from them, and they assume he jumped out the window. But we then see that the InM grabbed him and they are just invisible. InV agrees to help Peter, because even though he isn't much of a people person, he does not want them all dead.

DL breaks into prison to see Niki, and they have a wonderful little moment. Niki is going to let Jessica talk to the shrink. The only interesting thing about this storyline so far, is Micah. We finally get to see him use his powers. I know he used the out of order payphone, but that was alluding to his power. He talks to the ATM and it gives him tons of money. He then tells DL that he has a secret just like mom and dad.

Hiro and Ando await the big boss. Their kidnapper offers them first class tickets back to Tokyo, as long as they abandon their quest. Hiro is told that someone with great power wants him to stop. When the van door opens, Mr. Sulu is standing there and then Captain Kirk is revealed to be Mr. Linderman. Okay just kidding, but George Takai is standing there, and Hiro says "Father?" and then he gulps.

What will Hiro's father's power be? I guess in the preview Claire's mom calls a guy and it turns out to be Claire's dad. The internet rumor is Nathan, which I think is silly. We have noticed that Heroes keeps introducing characters, and Eric Roberts is due on the show, as someone named Thompson. He is my best bet as Claire's father. Some people use the foreshadowing that Zach says to Claire, maybe you will have a crazy uncle. If Nathan was her father, that would make Peter her uncle, and that would get rid of all the Peter/Claire relationship rumors.

Anyways, let me know what you thought.
