Lost: Episode 318

Well this episode answered a question that we debated earlier before, what was meant by "pregnant women die on this island." Juliet helps Sun, and as before Juliet continues to prove a very complex character.

Sun
Jack starts asking Sun questions about her pregnancy, which makes Sun suspicious. Kate tells her about what Juliet told her and Jack, and Sun goes to talk to Juliet. Juliet tells her that pregnant women die on the island. Later in the night, Juliet wakes Sun up and tells her that she wants to take her to a medical facility and do an ultrasound to find out when the baby was conceived.

Sun wants to know why Juliet would help her. Juliet explains that before she came to the island, when she told women they were pregnant, they were happy, but after losing 9 women in 3 years, finding out they were pregnant was a death sentence. Sun breaks down and says that if she conceived before the island, then it's not Jin's, but Jin was sterile, Juliet said the island produces 5 times more sperm in men than normal.

They trek to the facility that Kate and Claire went to, and Juliet goes into a secret room. She performs the ultrasound, and they find the baby to be quite healthy. Unfortunately for Sun, the baby is only 57 days old, so it is Jin's, and she is most likely going to die.

Sun goes outside, and Juliet comes back to close everything up, she grabs a recorder and leaves Ben a message about Sun's baby and that soon she will examine Kate. After she stops the recorder she says "I hate you" to Ben. As I have said, Juliet is a complex character, she hates Ben, but she knows she is doing important work, and that it is more important than the lives of a few, and that figuring out the problem is the only way she can leave.

Desmond/Charlie/Hurley/Jin
They try to help the chick who fell from the sky, but she is hurt badly. She says something in Spanish, which Hurley translates to "I'm dying." Then out of nowhere Mikhail runs out of the jungle.

He takes off running again, and Jin chases him. They fight, Mikhail is pretty tough, but Jin breaks free and knocks the crap out of him with a spin kick. Then Desmond sticks a flare gun to his chest. Mikhail tells them he can help her, and proceeds to fix the stick in her lung. After she is healed, Desmond agrees to let Mikhail go, must against Charlie's protests. Desmond says that it seems like the Losties have killed more Others than the other way around.

It is easy to sometimes forget that Desmond is not part of the group, and now we have another chick who is not part of the group. She better be hot.

Flashback
This was a Sun flashback, about when she and Jin first got married. A woman bribes Sun for $100,000, or she will tell everyone that Jin's father was a dirty fisherman and that his mother was a prostitute.

After some investigating Sun finds out that Jin's father is still alive and goes to see him. He knows about their marriage and is happy for Jin and understands why Jin would say he was dead. He also explains that Jin think's his mother is dead and he must never find out that is not true.

Sun goes to her father and asks for the money, and says that it is to protect Jin from great shame. He gives it to her, but says that Jin will now work for him. This is how Jin started working for him as an enforcer.

Jin finds the money and Sun lies about what it is for, and he tells her that he will provide for her and to give it back to her father. Sun sees Jin's mom and tells her that if she ever comes back, or that she tries to make herself known to Jin, Sun will make her death a reality.

Anyways, I really liked the episode, but I did have one small problem. Inside the medical hatch, there is this secret room. Why? I thought the DHARMA people built the hatches, and the Others were not the same people. Why would you have a secret lab inside a lab? It's not like you are performing secret experiments, everything is a secret experiment. That just seemed weird to me. Anyone else have any thoughts on it.

Drive Three

At the Drive-In, the racers get their next clue. They learn that someone, whoever it was that improved the most from the last two checkpoints to this checkpoint, will get a challenge to skip over the next one.

Alex is the winner. They go to the town, with the Salazar brothers trying to follow, and realize they are to rob a bank. They then go back and find Winston and agree to let them help them and share in the lead.

Winston wants to just go in the day and rob it real quick, but Alex is against that idea. They go at night. Sean says he can use a computer program to hack the vault (don't ask me what he was talking about).

They break in, and Sean gets the vault open. They grab the safety deposit box, but then a security guard comes in and has a gun on them. Alex sneaks up on him and tries to take him, but the guard is tough, knocks Sean out and takes Alex down. The rest attack and then there are two gunshots. Sean shoots the guard, but not before getting hit himself.

They go to a motel, and Alex tells Corrina and Winston to wait there, while he takes Sean to get help.

Rob calls the base and finds out he is AWOL. He is pissed at Ellie and says he has to go turn himself in. He throws the race phone out the window.

The two black chicks get kicked out of the race and must turn their phone in. The one says she heard a voice from god telling her they'd win. She sees Rob's car and starts to follow it, and then gets his phone when he tosses it. They are ran after the road after they figure out the clue and the driver dies. The other chick takes the phone and hitches to the destination.

Wendy and Ivy continue on their way, but when Wendy hears that people are watching where she has Sammy (I guess the race people do not have him, or something, I am confused), she wants to go to him.

Ivy pulls the gun on Wendy. Wendy says she can have the car, but Ivy cannot drive. Interesting. Who enters a race and cannot drive? Hot chicks, that's who.

The clue was "Surrender, America."
The answer: Appomattox, Virginia, where Lee surrendered to Grant.

24: 12:00 a.m.-1:00 a.m.

I am not going to bother recapping the boring crap that dealt with Karen/Bill/Justice Department/Tom/New President...Let's just say it cut into Jack action time.

Jack goes to an abandoned motel and waits for Chang. Mike figures out which road Jack would take because of the lack of satellite coverage. Mike finds Jack and waits for a team to get there. Chang arrives and Jack swaps the chip for Audrey. She walks towards a bridge and Jack plans to give the chip over and then blow the building, killing himself and Chang. However, Mike moves in and shoots one of the guys, Jack gets shot, but is wearing a vest. Chang escapes and the Chinese blow up the helicopter.

When Jack comes to, he tells Mike that he was going to blow the building, but Mike screwed it up, Mike arrests Jack and now the hunt is on for Chang. Jack talks to Audrey, who is batshit crazy.

Jack killed 2. I predict next week that he will kill 1. Oh and yes, this review would be 3 times longer if I included the other boring stuff.

Heroes Part Nineteen

Wow, thank god this show is back. It is absolutely amazing. I will go by character as to what happened during the episode.

Claire
Claire talks to her grandmother, Angela Petrelli, who tells her that she too has powers. She wants Claire to go to France with her and learn/grow up and then make a decision on what to do.

Claire finally meets her real father, and they decide she should go to Paris until after the election and then she should come home and get to know her family.

Peter
It took awhile to get Peter into the episode, but when he was, it was awesome. He and Syler square off, Peter shows off his new tricks, like healing, and turning invisible, but Syler just lifts glass from the ground and mentally tosses it all around, finally hitting Peter in the head. Mohinder takes Peter to his mother. Nathan, Claire, and Angela mourn his death, but then Claire realizes that there is glass stuck in his head and removes it. Peter returns to life.

Nathan
Nathan begins the episode talking to Linderman. He learns that Linderman has powers as well, he can heal things. He also learns that long ago, Linderman and a bunch of other people with powers set out to make the world a better place, but after awhile they got misguided and started to abuse their power. Linderman wants to heal the world and he seems to have a plan in place. Isaac's paintings help, and Nathan is to become president so he can lead our country after Peter explodes and kills everyone in NYC, which is only .07% of the population, hence the name of the episode.

Isaac
Syler comes to Isaac's apartment after his battle with Peter. Isaac is waiting for him. He says that he knows he will die and that he is glad he was able to paint a way for them to defeat Syler and stop the bomb. Syler kills Isaac and then begins to paint. Isaac also turns in his last issue of 9th Wonders to a bike messenger, who is a huge fan. He gives the guy his sketchbook.

Mr. B, Matt, Teddy
Matt is passed out in his cell at Primatech, and Mr. B wakes him up by thinking really loudly. He gives Matt instructions on how to escape. Matt breaks out and frees Teddy, who Mr.B tells to create an EMP, which Teddy does not know how to do. Mr. B says to think BRIGHT, not HEAT. He does and they break Mr.B out. They escape together and go to discuss the next plan. Matt heard Thompson say that he was sending Candice to see Mr. Linderman, Mr.B did not know that Linderman was their boss. They plan to go to NYC to shut down the power plant that powers their tracking devices.

Jessica
Jessica still is not interesting, but Micah is. Why did Linderman need Candice? Well she pretended to be Jessica because Linderman needs Micah to help him with his computers so he can save the world. At least Micah is becoming involved in the story.

Hiro/Ando

They are in the future, five years to be exact, outside of Isaac's apartment. Hiro realizes that the bomb went off, but that he can change it by staying in the future and figuring out where they went wrong. They go into Isaac's apartment and see a huge timeline. Hiro thinks that Isaac should still be alive because Syler had been captured last time he was back in their time. They here the sound of a sword being unsheathed and Hiro draws his sword, only to come face to face with his future self!

Obvioulsy I left a bunch out, but still this was an awesome episode. My theory is that Linderman, Peter's dad and mom, Hiro's dad, and whoever else started out trying to save the world, but become rich and power hungry. Linderman wants to change that, he wants the new batch of heroes to really make a difference.

My other theory still stands, Hiro will go back in the past, and live in the feudal era, where he will become a swordfighter and great leader. Who agrees with me?

Fantasy Baseball Week 3

I absolutely destroyed Ryan's team. Final score was 10-1, giving me an overall record of 26-6-4, which keeps me in first place. The only stat he beat me in was RBIs, which is fine with me. A-Rod was again my big hitter, 13 RBIs, 5 HR, .370 AVG. Yeah, I'll take that.

I picked up Josh Hamilton, and he hit me a few homers. Pitching wise, I got great performances out of Ian Snell and finally from Zambrano. This week I am playing Bay+LaRoche=1000RBIs, which is one of Ryan's friends. I will not be stopped.

The War's About to Begin

That was Clark's last line on Smallville tonight. Pretty sweet. Basically to catch anyone up who cares, Lex threatened Chloe's life. Clark and Chloe know that if Clark tries to do anything to Lex, Lana may be killed. Lana just found out that she was never pregnant. So it appears she was taking hormones to make it look like she was in order to marry Lex, but in reality Lex was either feeding her the hormones to make her fall in love with him, or this is a cover story so he can be rid of her, now that he has miscarried baby. Rich bastard.

The next couple episodes are gonna rock.

Lost: Episode 317

I am going to start off the recap by talking about Desmond's flashback, then the main story, if that is okay with everyone. What's that? I can do whatever I want, well then alright.

Flashback
Desmond used to be in a monastery. Yeah, he was a monk, or at least a monk in training. After succeeding in his vow of silence, he becomes a brother and starts helping bottle the wine they make.

One day some dude comes to the monastery and punches Des in the nose, which makes the other monks a bit suspicious. Des goes to the house of the guy and talks to some girl, who it turns out was his fiance. One night he got drunk and woke up in the street and a monk asked him if he needed help, and Des believed it to be a calling from god. Needless to say the chick is pissed and tells him that he is a coward.

Later Des is drinking some wine and being an ass and his boss monk tells him that he is being fired. That maybe this was just a stop on the way to his true calling. The next day, Desmond is helping load cases of wine into a truck. The monk tells Des that he can get a ride into town if helps unload the wine. Guess who the driver/buyer is? Penny.

Main Story
Desmond has a flashback of him, Jin, Hurley, and Charlie in the jungle during a rainstorm. They are looking for someone who crashed in a helicopter. Charlie steps on a trip wire, and gets hit in the throat with an arrow.

Desmond wakes up and tries to recreate the entire flashback. They go camping on the beach, they see the helicopter. And, they go off in search of the pilot. Unfortunately, he will not tell Charlie about the arrow. As Charlie steps on the wire, Desmond decides to save him, which pisses Charlie off. Charlie is upset that Des knew about it, but waited. Des explains that he did not want anything to change, that he thinks Penny was the pilot (since inside the pack they found was a picture of Penny and Desmond.) They find the pilot, and she is alive, but when Desmond pulls off the helmet, it is another woman, but she sees Desmond and says his name.

Minor Story
While this is going on, Kate is eating dinner and tries to talk to Jack, but he takes his food and eats with Juliet, and they are having a grand old time. Kate goes to Sawyer's tent and has sex with him.

The next day, Sawyer challenges Jack to ping-pong. Sawyer is beating Jack, and very excited about how he can finally beat Jack at something. It's great to see these two getting along, ping-pong is the universal friendship maker, Jerry Seinfeld had that bit in the show about how he would have been friends with Hitler (I think he said Hitler, or was it Stalin?) if he had a ping-pong table.

Anyways, Sawyer figures out that Kate had sex with him because she was upset about Jack and Juliet, and he tells Kate that she does not need to use him, she just has to ask. It's cute that Sawyer loves Kate so much. Although what will happen when Juliet betrays the group and Jack realizes he was a complete ass to Kate?

Obviously flying craft do not fair well coming to the island, why else would the Others use a sub. Oh but wait, didn't someone airdrop food in one episode to the hatch? Weird.

3 Strike Outs

I watched the Pirates game tonight. Why? So I could see Freddy Sanchez single, LaRoche and Bay walk. Bases loaded, no outs, down 3-1, this could get interesting. What did I say before Nady started his at-bat? "Strike out, then double play." Well I was close, only the Pirates managed three consecutive strikeouts. Sadly, I have seen them do it before.

It is probably a good thing that they do suck perpetually and have prepared me for these eventualities. If not, my TV would have a brick heaved through it. Yes I keep a brick on-hand at all times for such emergencies.

On a sidenote, at least my fantasy team is doing well, I think I am raping the shit out of Ryan. Insert dirty/gay joke about Ryan now.

The Shield: Episode 603

Vic catches Guardo and tortures the hell out of him. I mean, he makes Jack Bauer look nice. Vic beats him with a chain and when Guardo will not give him who killed Lem, Vic shoots him in the head. He then gets the release he finally needed. While that was definitely cool, the better part of the episode focused on Ronnie.

Over the past six seasons we never really get to see Ronnie in action. We always see him as the tech guy for the strike team, but in this episode we see why he is on the strike team.

Claudette assigns him to work a case with Dutch and Steve, taking down some guys stealing ephedrine from pharmacies to make meth. Ronnie kicks down doors and busts heads, showing that not only is he smart, but also a badass. Also, we see his loyalty to Vic. He wraps the case up quickly in order to help Vic with Guardo. Everyone at the Barn thinks that Ronnie is cool because he easily solved the case and was not afraid to just go in and take a guy out. He also had no problem going undercover and then taking down some meth dealers.

Anyways, now that Guardo is dead, Vic comes back to work next week and is ready to start bustin' some heads. Unfortunately Claudette assigns him a new guy, who will at some point replace Vic on the strike team. Should be interesting.

Drive Two

Alex gets picked up by a cop who thinks he was the getaway driver during a heist that his old partner got shot. Tully keeps denying it, but then says that he would admit to anything if he could get his wife back. The cop then tells him that Landscaper Alex Tully cannot get his wife back, but the old Alex Tully can, he then shows him that the holding cell is fake, and that there is Tully's old car. Turns out that Tully used to be a getaway driver, and he was damn good at it. After getting the car, he picks up Corrina and they pass everyone at breakneck speeds and then make it to Rome before anyone.

Violet teaches her dad how to lie, but then it turns out he is on the phone with his doctor, who wants him to make sure he has his medication. I wonder if he will tell Violet about his condition?

Rob and Ellie were in the lead, but then after Rob finds out that someone he knew got killed in Iraq, he tries to call the base to find out if he needs to get back. Ellie throws his phone out the window. She tells him that she wants to win because she wants him to quit the army and not get killed, but she knows he will not do that.

Winston gets picked up for violating his parole, but Sean rescues him by calling their fathers one lawyer and basically saying that he would never see Sean again unless they helped Winston. Winston is released, and they get back on the road.

Wendy and Ivy really did not do too much in the episode, since it was mostly focused on Alex. I will say that they might be a very funny odd couple. Ivy met the girls she was with during Hurricane Katrina, where she helped move people out of the hospital and onto high ground. She was a local hero.

Turns out that Tully used to be a semipro racecar driver before he met Kathryn, and that she helped put him back together. I guess he must have been into some pretty bad shit.

Once in Rome, they go to the drive-in and a movie starts to play, but then the episode ends before we get to watch it, hmm. I also wanted to say that the show has excellent music. I do not know if they doing remixes of great classic rock songs, or if they have a band covering them, but they are really cool. My favorite so far has been Roadhouse Blues by the Doors.

24: 11:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m.

So, the Chinese want Jack to steal some chip from the suitcase nuke which will give them access to Russian defense technology. Jack agrees, but needs Chloe's help. Morris figures out what she is doing and makes her tell Bill.

Mike arrests Jack. Bill talks to Jack, and then calls the President, who gives Jack permission to go through with the plan, as long as Jack can guarantee that the chip will not fall into Chinese hands. Jack says he will blow himself up if it comes down to it. Jack finally pulls the "you owe me" card, by saying that the President was willing to have Jack killed in order to stop Fayed, which Jack did not argue against.

As Jack and Mike go to meet the Chinese, President Palmer collapses and has a cerebral hemorrhage, leaving him incapable of leading the country. VP Daniels takes over and his first act is to nix the mission.

Bill calls Mike, but Jack knows something is up and pulls a gun on Mike. He kicks him out of the truck and goes off on his own. Mike tells Jack that he cannot fight the White House, I guess Mike has not read Jack's file. Jack always goes against Presidential orders, and he always wins. Hell, Jack took down a President last season, let's be honest here. Jack will do whatever it takes to defeat anyone.

Jack did not kill anyone, but he says that he will kill Chang before it is over. I guess next week he kills 3 people.

VA Tech Shooting

Since I slept most of the day, I did not see this until a little bit ago. The guy shot 32 people, then himself, or 33 then himself, not sure which. I cannot imagine what it must feel like to be a student there right now.

I was in high school when the crazy chick shot a few people on the HUB lawn, I think only one person died (they named Cafe Laura after her.) Anyways for those of you who pray, send 'em out to those people. I do not pray, and I will not lie and say that I am going to, but I will think about the horrible situation, and promise not to make any poor taste remarks about it.

Drive Series Premiere

At first I saw the previews for this show and thought it would be dumb, but after awhile I decided to give it a shot, mainly because I think Nathan Fillion is a cool actor. Needless to say I was quite happy last night after watching the premiere.

Fillion plays Alex Tully, who at the beginning of the show is talking with the cops because his wife is missing. After they leave the box she left for him that was his anniversary present starts to ring, he opens it and answers the phone inside. A man tells him to come to Key West if he wants answers about his wife, and that he needs to leave now.

When he gets there, he has missed the orientation, but he learns that he must participate in a cross-country race for $32,000,000. He leaves and hops in his shitty old truck and gets the first clue, a cryptic message about taking the red eye to Jupiter. On his way a guy starts slamming into him and tries to run him off the road, all of a sudden a chick jumps out of the bed of his truck and gets in with him and tells him to drive. She reads the message and says they need to go to Jupiter, Florida because there is a lighthouse there.

At first he does not trust her because she keeps lying to him, but then she explains that she was once the bait. She was kidnapped and put at the finish line, and she watched her parents race to the finish line and die in a car wreck. She also knows that people have money riding on Tully, that he is important. He decides to let her be his partner

The show seems like it will have lots of crazy things happening with people working for the shadow group that runs the race, such as a trucker picking up Tully and actually having his wife in the back of the truck. Or the waitress who tells Mrs. Patrakas that she needs to eliminate the other girl.

It also seems like some people are in the race because they want to be in it, and others, like Tully and Mrs. Patrakas want a loved one back.

There are also some very interesting characters:
Alex Tully and Corrina Wiles: The main two of the show, but each has secrets. Alex is sleep deprived and may be somewhat crazy, he keeps talking to his wife, Kathryn, who is not there. Corrina knows much about the race and seems to be keeping it from Tully. Also, why did they choose Tully? He drives a crappy truck and seems to be a landscaper, but something tells me he had military background or something, because he seems like a fighter.

Violet Ashton and her father: Her dad is a professor of astrophysics, and he is going to die in a year. He seems like he is doing this because he wants to either secure his daughter's future/do something exciting, but this will probably turn into a bonding experience for the two. Violet is played by Emma Stone.

Rob and Ellie Laird:
She deletes a message that says he is to get back to base, which leaves him AWOL. He also uses his military connections to help with clues, or to talk truckers into boxing in a competitor. Also, the chick is hot.

Wendy Patrakas:
She is in the race for her child. She is quite timid and finishes last in the first leg. She is told she must eliminate one of the girls in another car, Ivy. They give her a gun. She is told that by the end of the day Ivy must not be in that car. Wendy follows them and shoots out their tire. She then tells them that she cannot let Ivy go. Ivy hears what Wendy was told and says "well then, I guess I will be your partner." And she shoots the remaining tires. At the end of the next leg, Wendy is told she passed the elimination and that she was clever.

The Two Latino Brothers:
One is the rich kid, the other is the poor gangbanger. Winston is the badass, I think the rich one is Sean. Anyways, Sean never knew about Winston, and when he finds out, he wants to piss their father off, so he joins Winston in the race. Winston just got out of jail.

Anyways, this show has that Lost/Heroes connection thing going on. Plenty of secrets and lots of action. I do not think this show will be focused on the actual race, but more getting there and figuring out clues and learning about the characters. So, it is not Fast and the Furious or something like that.

I would probably recommend this to all of you who are tired of not getting answers from Lost, this might give you those answers quickly. Enjoy the picture of Kristin Lehman.

Fantasy Baseball Results Week 2

After the second week I am in first place with 16-5-3 record. Last week I beat Buccubs 9-3. I destroyed him in almost all hitting categories. Leading the way for me were A-Rod and Carlos Lee. I also got a huge complete game from King Felix.

I traded Hank Blalock for Rickie Weeks and right now I am shopping him or any of my other 2B/3B for a solid mid tier relief pitcher. Offord mentioned trading one of his RPs, but he wants a Top 10 OF, which I have Lee, but do not want to part with him. I may be willing to trade JD Drew, although I do not consider him one of the top ten.

This week I play Ryan, who is in last place, and after this week will continue to be in last place. Okay, just a bit cocky there, but my team has started off extremely well, which is odd for me. Last two years I have started out so slow and had to make up ground the rest of the season.

Lost: Episode 316

I love great ending twists. This episode provided some small answers about Juliet, and also reunited Sayid, Jack, and Kate with the rest of the group. During the trek through the jungle, Sayid tries to question Juliet, she tells him that if she answers him, he will kill her. Jack comes to her rescue and says she is under his protection.

When they arrive back at the camp everyone greets and hugs Jack, even Sawyer gives him a man-hug and seems happy to see the Doc. Sawyer then spots Juliet and asks "what the hell is she doing here?"

The group meets over it, and Jack says he trusts her and that she was left on the island just like them. No one trusts her, and Hurley goes and talks to her while they talk. Claire comes over, and Charlie realizes she is getting sicker than she was earlier. She starts bleeding from the mouth.

Jack tries to figure out what is wrong with her. Juliet tells Kate that she knows what is wrong. She then explains to Kate and Jack that the injections they were giving Claire helped her have the baby, and that no women could have babies on the island. They all died. Problem is, Claire has developed a dependency on the drug. She says that Ethan had some stored near the caves. Jack tells her to go get it.

Once there, she retrieves the case, but is confronted by Sayid and Sawyer. They want to question her, but she says there is no time. She then turns things around on them. She asks Sayid if he told everyone about how many people he has actually tortured, about Basra? And then she asks Sawyer if he told everyone about killing a man in cold blood the night before he got on Flight 815. They let her go save Claire.

Once she returns, Jack tells her that if Claire dies, he will not be able to protect her. She says she is already on her own. Claire lives, and later Jack visits Juliet on the beach. He gives her a tarp, some blankets, and a pillow. He says she can put up camp where the lean-to is. She asks why he trusts her, and he tells her that when the sub exploded he saw into her eyes, and he could see that she wants to get off the island more than anyone. "That makes you just like us", Jack says.

Flashback
The flashback deals with Juliet coming to the island. When she gets to the secret airport, they give her a sedative because the trip is very bumpy. Ethan wakes her when they get there, and she steps out of the sub, onto the island. Ben greets her. Her work deals with bringing life where there should be none, basically. She was able to impregnate her sister after she became sterile from chemotherapy.

After another woman dies due to complications from pregnancy, we learn that no women on the island can give birth. Juliet wants to leave and see her sister. Ben tells her that her sister will die because she has cancer, but if Juliet stays, he will cure her cancer. She agrees.

After three years of being on the island, she confronts Ben about him having a tumor, which freaks Ben out because no one is supposed to get cancer on the island. She flips out because she thinks Ben lied about her sister. After the plane crashes, Ben takes Juliet to Mikhail, who has a monitoring station at his pad. Ben wants him to get every bit of information about every single person on-board. He then shows Juliet her sister and Julien, her nephew.

At the end of the episode, the final flashback shows Ben and Juliet talking. She says how she is supposed to drag Kate into the jungle, handcuff herself to her. If she is caught in her lie, she is supposed to tell her she thought it was the only way she could get Kate to trust her.

Juliet then says that no one will trust her in the group, except for Jack. Ben says that they will activate the implant in Claire, and at the time Juliet arrives she will be in time to save the day. Ben tells her that they will leave meds at Ethan's old drop point. Ben then says that he will see her in a week.

Whoa, what is her diabolical plan??? The previews for next week look crazy. Ladies, enjoy the picture of Jack, I feel bad that I always put up pictures of hot chicks. Okay, no I don't.

Generic Day Off

I am stealing this term from Travis, the "Generic Day Off." Tuesday and Wednesday night I was the cover manager at work from 11 p.m.-7 a.m. Each day I get home around 8:30. I usually chill for awhile, then head to bed, but today will be a bit different.

Today is the GDO. Yeah, I have off, but tomorrow I go in and serve from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. If I go to sleep right now (9:25 a.m.) then I will get up at like 8 p.m. Then there will be no way in hell of getting back to sleep until like 10 a.m. So what should I do? By 2 o'clock, I will be exhausted. I am going to try and stay awake for the rest of the day, at least until 8. Do you see why this is a GDO? I will be too tired to do anything fun, and cannot go to sleep because I do not want to be up at weird hours.

Here is my plan:
1. Watch last nights Lost.
2. Write about it.
3. Watch some crappy TV for awhile.
4. Maybe around 2 p.m., I will go to Pickles, eat some food and drink some beer. Hopefully they will have some kind of baseball game on. By 8 or 9 I should be pretty tired. I also may watch Smallville, or just TiVo it.
6. Screw 5, I did not want to include it in this post. Anyways, if anyone is around and wants to do anything, let me know.
7. Enjoy the picture.

The Shield: Episode 602

I am glad they tidied up the whole Cavanaugh problem tonight. Dutch and Claudette realized that Amolia was lying, and when questioning her, Cavanaugh came in and said he planted the evidence and coerced her.

Vic kidnaps Guardo's girlfriend and uses her for ransom to get Guardo back to LA. Shane and Ronnie want Vic to let her go and not risk going to jail, but Vic does not want to listen.

Next week it looks like Shane may tell Vic, since Vic is about to torture Guardo and Shane says not to do it. What will Vic do to Shane if he tells him?

This episode also had very little about the house we saw last week full of dead bodies. Hopefully Dutch gets put on the case and we get to watch his fun detective skills. I always enjoy watching Dutch and Claudette interrogate someone. I mean, Vic is fun because he will torture and break the law, but Dutch and Claudette do it the old fashioned way, good ol' detective work.

Here is a nice picture of Danny. She earned her Sergent stripes on the episode, and may have to come back to work before her maternity leave is up, sweet.

Fantasy Baseball Week 1 Results

As promised here are my results from last week:
I beat Matsusaka Mania 7-2-3, which puts me in third place. I did very well in pitching, getting 4 wins, and also did well hitting, mainly in stolen bases. I decided to pick up Iwamura, which means I now have tons of 3B, but would gladly entertain a trade, although sorry Imler, Lyle Overbay is not what I am looking for.

I think I need to get one more strong reliever, which is going to be tough, Torres and Hoffman are what have right now. Hoffman is great, and Torres is starting the season off nicely, but who knows how well he will do.

Well there you have it, my fantasy team is starting off well. Keep up the nice hitting ARod.

24: 10:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.

What a great episode! Where to begin? Let me first talk about President Palmer. At the end of the last episode, he is going ahead with the nuclear strike, and at the last moment, the ambassador gives him a General Habib who is working with Fayed. Turns out the nuke was actually a decoy, and the President was bluffing.

Jack and Mike try to work Fayed over, but he will not talk. They take him back to CTU, but on the way get hit by an armored car and Fayed is rescued. Mike and Jack are shot in the process. They get up and we learn that the attack was staged by CTU, they are hoping that Fayed will tell the men where to go.

Fayed will only speak to Habib, and they arrange for it to happen, but Habib gives Fayed a duress code, which causes Fayed to kill the agents and escape. Jack follows him and sees him get into a garbage truck, which Jack holds onto the undercarriage and goes to the safehouse with the nukes.

Jack goes in and shoots everyone, he fights Fayed, hitting him with a giant wrench, biting him, and then finally hanging him with a chain. He tells Fayed to "say hello to your brother." Very nice. Mike and the team show up and secure the nukes. Mission accomplished, America is safe, yay! BUT, what about the rest of the episodes? What to do now?

Jack gets a phone call, and it is...AUDREY! The Chinese are holding her and want Jack to call a number from a secure line. It appears they are not done with Jack yet. It looks like the rest of this season will be Jack rescuing Audrey and destroying China.

Kill Count: 7, I think. My next week guess: 1.

Lost: Episode 315

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the main the event. Kate versus Juliet. The catfight of the century. Well maybe not, but still pretty cool.

Kate vs Juliet
Kate sees Juliet coming towards her cell, and decides to hit her with a pool cue. She swings and Juliet blocks it and then drops Kate with a nice arm toss. Juliet brought Kate food and now it's on the floor. Locke comes to tell Kate that he is leaving with the Others. Later as the Others prepare to leave, someone tosses a canister of gas into the room and Kate passes out.

She wakes up in the jungle with Juliet attached to her via handcuffs. They begin their way through the jungle, Kate wants to go back to the barracks for Jack and Sayid. Juliet tells Kate that Jack saw her and Sawyer together and it broke his heart. It starts to rain and they begin to fight, Kate dislocates Juliet's arm. Then they hear the smoke monster. They hide in the roots of a tree, and lights flash on their faces. Juliet asks what it was.

They get back on their way towards the barracks when the smoke monster chases them again, they come to the pylons and Kate says they cannot go through them. Juliet takes a key out of her pocket and uncuffs Kate, then uses a keypad to turn the energy barrier off, she and Kate go to the other side and Juliet reactivates the code. The smoke monster slams into the force-field, but cannot get through. Juliet tells Kate that yes the Others know about the smoke monster, but they do not know what it is, just that it cannot get through their barrier.

They reach the abandoned barracks, and Kate finds Jack. She apologizes for ruining his chance to get home, but that she was worried about him. Jack then asks about Juliet. Outside, Sayid joins the group and Jack says they should head back home. Sayid says that Juliet is not welcome, but Jack says she is because she was left behind too.

Flashback
Kate breaks down in Iowa and runs into none other than Cassidy. The girl that Sawyer conned out of her life-savings, and if you remember who he actually did love. Cassidy wants to help Kate, who is trying to see her mother, but the Feds stake out Kate's home. We learn that the reason Cassidy is helping Kate is because of Sawyer, since Kate killed her step-dad, who was a bad man, and Sawyer is a bad man.

Kate sees her mom, who will never forgive her and Kate is pretty upset. She thanks Cassidy, and asks her for the name of the man who hurt Cassidy, and she will pay him a visit. Cass does not give it because she is pregnant wth his child. I love these little crazy connections.

Back at Camp
Over on the normal side of the island, Hurley tells Sawyer that everyone wants to vote on whether or not Sawyer should be banished. Sawyer laughs at it, but later after failing to be able to gut a fish, he seeks out Hurley to help him win some of the voters.

First thing Hurley has him do is talk to Claire. Sawyer is quite awkward trying to talk to lil' Aaron, but he gives Claire a blanket and says "I don't like blankets." This may have been my favorite scene, Sawyer was absolutely uncomfortable being nice to Claire.

Next we see Sawyer with Desmond, and they are hunting bore. Sawyer complains about being up so early, and Desmond wants to know why Sawyer wants to be his hunting buddy. Sawyer says because of politics and voters like bribes. Desmond shoots a bore, and that night the entire group is enjoying a fun pig roast, complete with Sawyer serving chunks of meat, which he personally marinated with DHARMA A1 (or Lea & Perrins, I cannot remember) and giving people beer and drinks.

Sawyer talks to Charlie about whether or not he has Charlie's vote. Charlie laughs and says "when do we ever vote around here?" Sawyer goes to Hurley, and is upset that he was duped. Hurley tells him that he should be nicer to people, since he is the de facto leader of the group with Jack, Sayid, Locke, and Kate gone. Sawyer seems hesitant at first, but then Hurley says that people looked to him during Nikki and Paulo's deaths, but Sawyer was stealing diamonds. Sawyer says he does not want to be the leader, but Hurley counters that neither did Jack. Could we see Sawyer emerge as the leader, as opposed to the rogue? What will happen when Jack gets back?

We also learned that the Others knew of the smoke monster, but they did not control it. Also explains what they needed the protective energy fields for. What is the smoke monster? I have heard people say that it is some kind of nano-bot creature controlled by the Others, but that does not seem right anymore.

Also, where does this leave Jack and Kate? Is there a new love triangle-Jack/Kate/Juliet? Or will she turn to Sawyer now? Next weeks episode has the return of Jack, and everyone, especially Sawyer, not being happy about Juliet. Sayid questions her, and she says "You would kill me if I told you everything I know." Sayid responds, "What do you think I will do if you don't?" That might be paraphrased.

The Shield: Episode 601

The first episode of the new season started off with a bang. It starts off right after Lem's funeral. Vic, Ronnie, and Shane (the bastard who actually killed Lem) are discussing finding Guardo and killing him.

Dutch has been assigned the task of finding Lem's killer, which he believes is Guardo. Unfortunately Cavanaugh still wants Vic and believes that Vic either killed Lem or hired the Salvadorians to do it.

Meanwhile, the guys are investigating someone who is burning methadone clinics. They also learn that Cavanaugh made up the story about Lem cutting a second deal, which causes Shane to consider suicide. They find the guy who is burning down methadone clinics and he has hostages. One of the hostages is a baby, and Shane does a very crazy thing. He hears the baby crying and the guy is going to kill it. Shane takes off his vest and gone and tells the guy to trade his life for the babies, that the baby is crying because of the gasoline fumes (which the nutjob has poured on the hostages). Shane then dumps gas on himself and as he goes inside, Vic dives through the window and tackles him. They bring the guy down, but Vic is shot in the arm. Luckily it is just a scratch.

Cavanaugh gets the chick from last season who was both his informant and Vic's to say that Vic forced her to get Guardo to kill Lem, that she supplied Guardo with where Lem would be. Dutch is sent to question Vic and he does not handle it well. Vic visits Cavanaugh at home and tells him that he knows he got her to lie, and that now Cavanaugh is playing on his side of the fence. Vic idly threatens him by saying that "maybe I am a cop-killer, and you're a cop."

Vic goes to see Corin and his children, while he is there Cavanaugh breaks into Vic's place and starts planting evidence. He looks in the mirror and you start to think maybe he will change or realize that he is turning into Vic, but instead he says "nothing personal."

So much more happened this episode, but that is what I felt like focusing on. Let me know if you watched it, and what you thought. I cannot see how Vic can get out of this unless Shane comes forward or kills himself and leaves a letter to Cavanaugh. I guess they could kill Cavanaugh, but some other IAD Officer would pick up the case. Honestly, if you have never seen the show, you are missing out.

24: 9:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.

I have to say, I did not watch the first half hour, I was busy watching the Pirates win. Sorry. That being said, the last twenty minutes I did see were pretty good, but from what I have read online, it seems like that was the only good point in the show.

I guess the first half of the episode was basically like being back in American Government in 10th grade. Yeah, I have seen that joke on like 4 different sites/message boards about last nights episode.

When I came in, Gradenko was telling Fayed that he had a wire/transmitter. Jack does not like what is going on, and decides to go in. He finds Gradenko's arm on the ground. He starts tracking them.

Gradenko and Fayed go into a bar, and Gradenko does the coolest thing ever. He starts yelling that Fayed is the terrorist. Fayed shoots a guy and starts hitting people, but is eventually overwhelmed. Gradenko escapes, Jack comes in and stops the crowd from killing Fayed.

Gradenko goes outside, toward the ocean and collapses with waves coming over him. I am sure he will survive, be washed out to sea and probably hijack a nuclear sub. Jack now has Fayed in custody, which judging from the preview will not last very long.

President Palmer decides to launch the nuke so that VP Daniels does not think he is a pussy. His rationale was a little silly, and I am still annoyed that we are having another VP trying to take the presidency/may be a bit crazy or evil...

Kill count: 2, I was right again. Next week, I say 3.

Pirates Opener

The Pirates won their opener today!!!! They beat the Astros 4-2. When McLouth came in to pinch hit, I looked at Ryan and said "why the hell would they put Duffy-Lite in right now?" He responded by hitting a home run. Oops.

The team looked pretty bad early offensively, fortunately the defense played great and Duke did not walk anyone, which was a plus. Bay seems like he is finally going to start seeing strikes with LaRoche hitting behind him. He needs to capitalize, and LaRoche needs to not strike out 4 times.

I have decided that at the end of the week, I will give you a recap of my fantasy team, and how they are doing. I know none of you really care, but it will be fun.

Crazy Person

Earlier today I had a run in with a crazy guy. It would be cool, but it was kind of scary. Here is the story for everyone. Hope you enjoy.

I am standing outside my apartment, having a cigar and this weird guy (about 35-40 years old) walks up to me and stands beside me. He asks me "are you smoking that?" Of course I replied yes and continue to ignore him. He then asks my name and I tell him Josh. He says "no, you are not Josh." And now I really ignore him. He then mumbles to himself for a bit and then starts to say something like "where would a bloke find mumble mumble?" I ask him what he said and he says "if you were Josh, you would know." He walks away.

I continue to smoke my cigar and look up the street and see the guy coming back towards me, so I finish and toss my cigar out and start to head back up my apartment, but not without a glance back at the guy. He starts sprinting at me. So, I run up to my apartment, I hear him come into my building and he is yelling after me.

I lock the door and can hear him outside my door saying weird shit like "hey, I just wanna talk to you." And he continues to walk around my building for like five minutes.

Needless to say, I did not go back out again for awhile, mostly since the Pirates were on, but also I did not want to deal with some crazy guy. Weird...

Opening Day

Today is my favorite day of the year. Baseball season is upon us. Right now the Pirates are tied for the NL Central lead, and it will probably only last for about a day, but who cares.

I have been watching games since 1 o'clock. These are some of the funny things I have heard/saw.

Different announcers talking about strike-outs. Giambi and Howard both strike out a lot, but nowhere near as much as Adam Dunn. Oddly enough Dunn hit a homerun in the first inning of the Reds/Cubs game, it would be great if he broke Bonds' record, and still struck out 175 times.

Kruk making fun of the Devil Rays because they are not that good and then they score four runs to take the lead over the Yankees. They do it by hitting singles, stealing bases, and being extremely fast. All Kruk can keep saying is "they may not win a lot of games, but they will be fun to watch." What an idiot...

Braves 2B Kelly Johnson, drops a flyball. I love early season errors, they make me giggle. Also, ARod commits an error, but no one will mention that Jeter committed one as well. Actually the Yankees looked pretty bad in the field all together.

The Pirates play the Astros tonight. Zach Duke versus Roy Oswalt.
