I am still in first place with a nice record of 59-27-10. This week I beat Pittsburgh Lumber Co. 8-3-1. My hitting star this week was Justin Morneau with 10 hits, 4 HR, and 13 RBIs. BJ Upton and Kenji Johjima also had very nice weeks for me. My outfield absolutely sucked, aside from Carlos Lee. JD Drew and Mark Teahen were awful. Josh Hamilton went on the DL. Ryan Freel sucked it up this week and may be out for a few games with a head injury. Good news for me, Iwamura came back off the DL and I will have him on Wednesday against Gideon.
Pitching was good this week although I did not get many wins. Bedard and Young pitched very well, but both pitchers did not get the win. I am still destroying teams in Ks and Saves, but that may change this week because from what I hear Gideon also owns Saves each week. He and I should be an interesting matchup. Luckily last week he tied Offord, which gave me some breathing room in first place. I am now 4.5 games ahead.
As I said last week, people should be on the Ryan Kearney lookout. He is very close to moving above .500 and looking at his team, they seem to be heating up.

All About Baseball
This is going to be a long post about baseball. I will break it down into three subtopics: Pirates, Current State, Modern Players vs. Different Eras
Pirates
They suck. Seriously. The Pirates really suck. They have absolutely no offense. Aside from Gorzo and Snell, their starting pitching has been less than spectacular. Offord said how the Arizona series is like the Yankees series from a few years ago, but in my opinion, I have no idea how they have been winning games at all.
They just got swept by the Cardinals, which normally would be no big deal, but these were the pitchers they lost to: Adam Wainwright, Kip WELLS!, and Braden Looper. Kip Wells, whose record was like 1-6 or something and had about a 43245243534.23 ERA!!!! How does this happen??? Because the Pirates are not all that good.
Watching them frustrates me so much anymore. Against Wainwright they had the bases loaded in 3 out of the first 4 innings with only one out each time. Did they knock in an assload of runs? NO. It is like they have no clue how to get that big hit, you know, a double that knocks in 2 or 3 runs. That is why the team leader in RBIs has about 20-something. I would look it up, but it will just make more angry.
Wow, I did not realize talking about the Pirates was going to get me worked up. I am moving on to the next topic.
Current State
I was going to write about how it feels like there are a lot of mediocre teams out there, but after comparing records from this year to previous years, that really is not the case. Maybe it just feels that way because the Pirates have a bad record, but are not that far out of first place yet.
Anyways, Barry Bonds is going to break the record. It is going to happen, and it will suck. I really do not care about the guy that much, what I think sucks is that Ken Griffey Jr. would have broken it had he not gotten hurt so much since coming to the Reds. I know you cannot say things like that, but still, you gotta feel bad for the guy.
Does anyone think Roger Clemens' contract was a bit on the ridiculous side? But, I guess if Barry Zito can get some astronomical figure, Clemens can too. I am tired of ESPN jamming everything they can about him down my throat. I do not care how he did in a minor league outing. He will not pitch every game for the Yankees and that still leaves whatever crap rotation they have pitching the four other games. I hate to say this, but it seems like they have a lot of work to do to try and catch the Red Sox. I just threw up in my mouth saying that.
Modern Players vs. Different Eras
Why is that when you talk about baseball to an older person, they always tell you how these modern guys would not be able to cut it back in the olden days, or that if the guys from their time played today, they would be gods? I understand that there is something special about your childhood heroes, but why is it that people just will not accept that the modern player is just as good as olden players.
In other sports people will admit that modern players have gotten bigger, stronger, and faster. LeBron James would destroy players back in the 40s and 50s. The worst team in the NFL would probably crush the best teams of the 40s. But, if you say something like "if A-Rod played in the early 1900s, he would have put up monster numbers." Some old-timer will slap you.
Would Babe Ruth still be the best hitter if he played today? I don't know, I doubt it. I know that you can look at different SabreMetric stats that adjust everyone's numbers by different era, but that does not really change the fact that they are not playing against each other. I mean, look at the different kinds of pitches that are used today, that were not used until the 70's. Roger Clemens vs. Babe Ruth? For a long time, hitters saw a nice steady stream of fastballs. What happens to guys who have never seen a splitter or a cutter. What if Ruth played in San Diego, does he become another Ryan Klesko or Brian Giles? Guys who can hit homeruns, but play in a park that is 90,000 feet to right field.
Oh well, this is something that annoys me, and I am sure in 50 years, I will be telling my grandkids how Andy Van Slyke was the greatest player to ever put on a Pirate uniform (okay, I do not believe that now, but he will always be my favorite) and they will be like "umm, yeah gramps, the guys now can throw runners out at home while standing on top of the wall, which is now 600 feet away." Who knows.
This rant is over.

Lost: Episode 322

The season finale of Lost left me wondering what the hell was going to happen next season. I guess that is what a good finale should do. This will not be a recap, but instead just my observations, feelings, and predictions.
The "flashback" was awesome. I said to James and Karen while we were watching it that it must be a flashforward and then later thought maybe it was still set in the past because Jack said for them to get his father down there. Poor Jack, getting off the island does not do him any favors. He looks like hell and is now a pill popper. Although, Kate looks much hotter in the future, that is exciting.
Charlie dies. He was not the character I would have thought to die at the start of the season. Even after Desmond told him he was supposed to die, I still thought he would make it out. People probably will ask why he did not just get out of the room and shut the door, but I am pretty sure he bought into the fact that Desmond said he needed to drown for Claire to be saved.
Which now brings me to the rescue. I wonder if Naomi's people are Dr. Mittlewerk's group. If you did the Lost experience last season, Dr.M is the guy who was #2 in command behind Alvar Hanso and did something to Hanso and was using the company for his own evil ways. Maybe he never knew where the island was and this rescue party will actually be a new evil force which will force the Losties and the Others to join together against a new common enemy.
I wonder if when the helicopter comes, if it will take Claire and Aaron away, as a sign of good faith, and then later they will come back with their evil intentions. Will Aaron ever get Charlie's ring?
For the few of you who read this, let me know what you thought. I cannot imagine how they are going to get 48 more episodes out of this show unless there is another group of hostiles on the island.

Time Flies

Can you believe that it has now been three years since my trip to Jordan? The reason I am thinking about it is because this was about the time I left to go over there. What's that? Some of you have no clue what I am talking about? Oh, well let me tell you a little bit. I went to Jordan for six weeks for an archaeological excavation at a site called Khirbet Iskander. I went with my former professor at Gannon University, Dr. Suzanne Richard and some other students from Gannon, SUNY, Lubbock Christian, and some others.
I knew absolutely no one who was going, aside from Dr. Richard. I left from Cleveland on a flight to Chicago, which would then take us to Amman, Jordan. I slept pretty much the entire 14 hour flight, so needless to say, I did not really get to know anyone from our group, even though I was sitting near most of them. When I got off the plane, I was told to say some weird Arabic phrase, which supposedly means "antiquities" or my luck, "lick my balls bitch." I made it through customs easily and that is when the fun began.

I went to pick up my luggage and some guy comes to me and wants to help me, I thought he worked at the airport. He goes looking for my bags, and comes back with some that are not mine, which leads me to believe he is an idiot because brown and red are not the same colors. So I spot my bags, grab them and start making my way towards the group. The guy says he will take me to my group, and leads me in the opposite direction. He puts me with another group (mostly Japanese tourists) and says "Here, this your group." I started to walk away and he stops me and says "Bakshish." I look at him confused and he says it again and holds out his hand. I tell him that I have no Jordanian money, and he says he will take American. I hand him two quarters and he gets insulted, says he wants $5. I laugh and try to leave, but he stands in front of me. One of the teachers from the group, Bill, comes over and asks what is going on and I explain to him that I did not ask for the guys help and that I will not fork out $5 so I could carry my own bags and find my own group. Bill yells at the guy and tells him to get lost. That was my first moment in Jordan, I started to think it was a huge mistake.
We get to our house in Madaba and we are told that we get to sleep all day tomorrow and that we need to be rested up. The guys in our room are me, Chris (from Victoria, TX), Mike (from Wash. DC), Austen (Lubbock, TX), Drew and Ross (both from Gannon). Chris and Mike are in their 30s and are asking us why we came and what not. Everyone is talking about how they are there for the experience and to learn about the culture and to see all the churches and what not, blah blah blah. Me, I tell them that I am there because I have every American STD and just want to experience some Arabian STDs.
Chris and I became good friends and started to become known as the two who would goof off the most when we were out on tours or visiting other sites. Also, we were the only ones who made it a habit of going for a beer most nights. We definitely discovered the fun of smoking the sheesha, which is just a hookah and tobacco, but pretty good, especially after a nice meal of lamb, rice, and pita bread.
After Chris and Mike left, I became more acquainted with Drew and we would play chess and backgammon. I also got him to start going to the bar and drinking with me, which was pretty cool.
Anyways this time of year makes me miss that trip and the fun that I had. I could write forever about some of the cool things, and maybe sometime I will start putting my pictures up of some of the stuff, but for now, I will leave you with a small group photo, which I took from Gannon's website. If you go there, do not be surprised to not see me, they only put pics up of the GU students.

Heroes Part Twenty-Three

The season finale is here, and for this fun time, I think I will liveblog it.
-Molly recognizes Matt and as he wakes up he tells Mr.B that they will not be shooting her. She then becomes sick again. Claire calls her dad and lets him know about Syler getting to Ted. Mr.B tells Peter that he may be the only who can stop Syler. Mr.B says they have a tracking device and once it is back up and running they will find Syler and he will let Claire know.
Peter wants to get Nathan's help, but Claire does not trust him. As Peter talks to Nathan, he hears Nathan's thoughts and realizes that Claire was right, he turns invisible and runs away. As he gets outside, his nuclear powers kick in and he collapses. As Claire tries to get away from the car, and Nathan, her grandmother stops her and she leaves with Nathan and granny.
-Molly wakes up and says she will find Syler. She then says there is one person she cannot find, because when she thinks about him, he can see her. I wonder who that person is? She finds Syler in Isaac's apartment. Mr.B calls Claire, and ends up talking to Grandmother Petrelli, she says that Claire will be safe and that he can say goodbye to Claire. Mr.B says he needs to find Peter, but Claire does not know where he is. Matt wants to go after Syler, but Mr.B says he will be killed if he goes without Peter.
Peter wakes up, but he is back watching himself meeting Simone, as his mother talks to Mr. Deveraux. I wonder what his powers were?
-Peter goes outside and listens to the conversation between Charles and Grandma. She is saying how he is weak and the bomb will go off, but Mr.D thinks that Peter is the one, he has courage, heart, and empathy. As she leaves, Charles says he knows that Peter is there, and then we cut to commercial!
-Does anything think Age of Love looks like the worst show ever? Unless you were on it of course...
-Ando goes to Isaac's apartment witha sword, and there is Syler, who knocks the sword out of his hand. He tortures Ando and laughs about the comic book, and then Hiro arrives. There is a brief standoff, but then Hiro teleports he and Ando out of the apartment.
-Niki comes to get Micah, and sees Jessica sitting there and Micah dead. Obviously this is a Candice trick.
-Parkman goes to Isaac's place and sees Syler's painting of Peter and Syler facing off in front of the building where Molly is located. Suresh tells Molly that they need to go because the boogyman is coming. She says that he is already here.
-As Claire, Nathan, and Granny try to leave, Claire realizes that they are going to let the bomb go off. She thinks they are horrible for doing this to Peter and Nathan tries to rationalize it to her. They tell her that she will have a family with them, but she says she has one and then dives out the window. As Nathan looks down at her, she heals and runs away. Granny says to let her go. What a cold hearted bitch.
-Okay, Transformers looks really crappy. Damn you Michael Bay!!!
-So, I guess Heroes: Origins will be airing over the summer in the same time slot, six episodes and we can vote on a new character for season 3.
-Niki sees Jessica in a mirror and she realizes that she is fighting Candice. She also realizes that she has the strength and kicks Candice who morphs to her normal form. She finds Micah and they are happily reunited. Awe.
-Suresh and Molly try to get out of the building and run into a bleeding DL. He wants to help DL, but the elevator is not working.
-Ando and Hiro pop back up in Japan, and Hiro says he must finish the journey alone. Hiro gives Ando his sword and says that he will be back for it. Ando tells him that he looks badass.
-Peter wants to know what is going on, is he time travelling or is Charles doing it? He tells Peter that there is always one who will save everyone, and he knew it would be Peter and that he has what it takes to do it. Mr.B wakes up Peter, who is still in the alley. He says that he will stay with Peter and if he needs to he will put Peter down himself. He then reveals his real name: NOAH! I wonder if anyone would have guessed that.
-Micah, Niki, Suresh, DL, and Molly get to the elevator and Molly says it does not work. Micah touches the button and turns it on. They smile at each other and well, we all know he will be hitting that someday.
-Mr.B and Peter get to where Syler is, but cannot see him. Syler comes behind Noah and sends him flying, as Peter faces him, Syler says "What took you so long?" Oh god, the showdown we have been waiting for.
-Syler starts choking Peter with telekinesis, and then stops Parkman's bullets in the air. He starts beating Peter with a parking meter, but Niki stops him, Peter says to go to her family. He now has her strength and is hitting Syler, but then he starts to glow red and Syler starts laughing. Hiro then teleports in and stabs Syler in the chest. Peter wants Hiro to kill him, but Syler pushes Hiro away and he is forced to teleport. Noah gets ready to shoot Peter, but Claire takes the gun from him.
Nathan flies in and says not to shoot him, and the future is not written in stone. The brothers exchange I love yous and Nathan flies Peter away from the city. Before they left, Nathan said: You saved the cheerleader, so we could save the world.
Everyone watches as the bomb goes off, high above the city (I wonder if the EMP took out everything like it did in Dark Angel?)
-Holy shit!!! They are giving us a preview of next season!!!
Hiro is in Feudal Japan, and then another eclipse comes and then it ends. Does anyone else think that Syler is still alive somehow??? What about Peter? Did he survive, so Nathan died, did anyone predict that? I will have to check...
Lost: Episode 321
This will be another quick recap, but do not worry I will try not to skimp out on ya. This is a hard one to recap, it was very interlaced unlike many episodes where I can split it up.
The episode begins with Carl jumping in a boat and trying to get out on the ocean. Then we get to the Lost group and they are being led somewhere by Jack, who calls out to Rousseau, who blows up some trees with dynamite (which she got a few episodes ago). Jack says he intends to put dynamite in the tents that Julia marked and blow the Others up.
Charlie finds out from Naomi that after his death, they came out with a DriveShaft greatest hits and that he became a big deal. Desmond then tells him about another premonition, where Charlie dies, but it allows everyone, especially Claire and Aaron, to leave the island.
Sayid says he can get the sat-phone to work, but they need to disable Rousseau's transmission. Juliet says that it will not matter, since the Others are blocking it with a station called The Looking Glass. She does not know where it is, but Sayid thinks it is what the cable leads to.
Carl gets to the group and tells them that the Others are coming tonight, not tomorrow night. Jack tells people to go up to the radio tower, three will stay behind and shoot the dynamite, and Charlie and Desmond will go disable the Looking Glass jamming signal. Charlie lies and says he was a great swimmer when he was younger.
Before Charlie leaves, he tells Claire not to worry about him and then tells Aaron he loves him. As he and Desmond get to the boat, Hurley wants to come, but Charlie tells him that he cannot, and that he also loves him.
As the camp starts to head to the tower, Claire takes Aaron and Hurley offers her help, as they walk away, we can see Charlie's ring, which says DS in Aaron's crib, I will explain that from the flashback in a moment.
Charlie and Desmond head out, following the cable. When they get there, Desmond says he will go, that maybe he has to replace Charlie, as he starts to take the weight belt, Charlie knocks him out with an oar, and gives him the list he has been making, which was the greatest hits of his life. He wants Des to give it to Claire.
As he swims to the station, he starts to lose his breath, but comes up in the Moon Pool, thinking he was fine. Two chicks come running at him with guns. Hmm, so Desmond's vision was wrong...
Flashback
The flashback goes with the list Charlie was writing, the greatest hits of his life.
-Charlie and Liam are fighting about the band not being very good, Liam wants them to get to the venue and play and build a fanbase. The driver of the van tells them to shut up and they hear their song playing on the radio.
4. Charlie's dad is trying to get him to jump into a public pool, and he promises that he will catch him, Charlie jumps and his dad teaches him how to swim.
3. Liam gives Charlie the ring, which was a family heirloom of the great-grandfather, he wants Charlie to have it because he is the clean rockstar. They had named the band after those same initials. This is the ring that Charlie gives to Aaron.
2. Charlie sees a woman being mugged and goes and stops it. She says he is a hero. If anyone noticed, this was Nadia, Sayid's love. Also, we had seen this scene before, where Desmond says something to Charlie who is playing "Wonderwall" while it rains. Instead of Desmond being there, Naomi is standing there listening to the music.
1. His greatest hit was the moment he met Claire. He brings her a blanket and makes a few jokes to her and then sits with her and says they will be rescued.
Next week is the finale and I am pretty excited about it. The Others, especially Richard, seem to be fed up with Ben, I wonder what will happen if this mission fails and they find out that he shot Locke?

Fantasy Baseball Week 8
I beat Ruskin's team, 8-3-1, keeping me in first place with a record of 51-24-9. I led in all hitting categories except HR, which I tied Ruskin with 8. I also destroyed him in Ks, 72 to 34. My big stars for the week were a bit odd, Mark Teahen and Orlando Cabrera, who both had over 10 hits. I tried to pick up Hunter Pence, but Ryan got to him first, which is funny because I told him about him back in spring training. I guess we will have to see who turns out to be better, Pence or Hamilton. Speaking of Hamilton, he has some gastro thing that is keeping him out, hopefully when he comes back he gets out of his funk he was in the last week or so. Also, BJ Upton may be coming back down to earth, which really sucks. Lets hope he either keeps up a good bit of numbers at 2B or that Rickie Weeks picks it up while Upton is struggling.
I am playing against Pittsburgh Lumber Co. this week, he is not very good and I should be able to extend my lead, which is now 2 games. Also, I think people should be on the watch of Ryan, he has went from last place, all the way upto 8th place, all the while playing some pretty good competition. I hate to see anyone start out so poorly because I did that last year and it is really rough trying to get some wins strung along and moving up in the standings.

Heroes Part Twenty-Two
One more episode to go, and it looks to be pretty awesome. This episode piqued my excitement and made me go into a geekgasm (yes I stole that term from DC Universe, sue me, well please don't, I am poor.)
Hiro
Hiro and Ando go to a swordsmith to get the sword fixed. Hiro's dad comes out of the back and tells Hiro that he is proud of Hiro and that he needs to complete his training. Hiro's dad tells him about how he and others once set out to change the world, but they lost their way. I knew that his father was special. He trains him to be a sword fighter and at the end he tells Hiro that he is ready to kill his enemy. When Hiro comes out to get Ando, the guy says that Ando bought a sword and said he would complete his mission if Hiro could not.
Peter
Peter, Claire, and Ted try to leave the city, but Ted is picked up by Audrey and the FBI, on a tip from Syler. When they are transporting Ted, Syler flips the truck and takes Ted's brain. Peter and Claire see what happened afterwards, and Peter realizes he has to stop Syler, but he is afraid.
Micah
Micah talks to Candice, and she alludes to the fact that people are horrible and that Linderman is going to do a good thing by saving humanity. Micah says he did not think humanity was sick. Oh yeah, I started to say what she was alluding to, and got sidetracked, anyways, she mentions that maybe she was not so attractive and that her current hotness is just an illusion.
Most people guessed what Micah was being used for, he talks to the voting machines and has Nathan win the election by a landslide.
DL and Jessica mount a rescue mission and head for Linderman. When they find him, he says that he will give her $10 million to kill DL, and she says she would, but that Nikki would not. Nikki takes control, but Linderman goes to shoot her, DL steps in front and takes the bullet, but then gets behind Linderman and phases his hand into his brain and kills him.
Nathan
Nathan sees Hiro and is told about the bomb, he tells Hiro that he knows and Hiro tells him that he will become a bad man in the future. Nathan says that the bomb is necessary, and Hiro says he is already a villain.
Linderman sees Nathan and his wife, and heals her legs. It is a miracle, yay.
Syler
At the end of the episode, Syler is floating above the city and he starts to use Ted's power and says "Boom."
Sorry about the lacklust recap, give me your input, I have to get to work, starting at 11 p.m. sucks.
Sorry about the lacklust recap, give me your input, I have to get to work, starting at 11 p.m. sucks.
Fantasy Baseball Week 7
I am back in first place, yeah I rock. My record is 43-21-8, and it is a very tight race between Imler, Ruskin, and myself. Last week I won 9-2-1, dominating in hitting categories and saves. My big move for the week was trading Offord, Alex Rios for Jason Isringhausen.
This week I take on Ruskin, and it is going to be a barn burner, at least I hope it will be one.

Spider-Man 3
I know that some of you have been waiting, patiently, for my review of S3, well no longer fear, the wait is over.
I definitely enjoyed the movie, but thought it could have been much better. It was still a better film than say Man-Thing or Catwoman. Just kidding, it was still better than most comic book movies, especially any that have made it to a third installment.
The Good
Topher Grace and Thomas Hayden Church were excellent as Eddie Brock and Sandman. Also, the Sandman special FX kicked ass. Also, Bryce Dallas Howard was very hot as Gwen Stacy.
The fight scenes were fast paced and definitely looked cool. The movie started off with fights and kept them going throughout the film. Also, the writers did a great job of explaining Venom without getting way too into it, all we needed to know is that the suit was a symbiote, we did not need any Secret Wars or long story about where it came from. The comics history of the symbiote would be way too convoluted.
The overall story was very good, the idea of revenge being poison and all that stuff fits very nicely with the last two films, and later the idea of redemption. I enjoyed that part of the movie.
The Bad
This might seem like I am pointing out more bad than good, and that may be the case, but these are just little things in my book, but anyways here we go.
Way too much going on all at once. I would have been fine with an introduction to Eddie Brock, Sandman and Harry being the villains, and Gwen Stacy being introduced as a love interest. I wish the story would have went something like this: Harry enlists the Sandman to kill Peter (much of the beginning goes the same way), Harry continues the whole MJ pushing Peter away thing, and he starts to talk to Gwen. When MJ asks Peter to come to the bridge, the Goblin has her suspended in the air, and drops her, as Peter goes to save her, he accidently snaps her neck. That would deinitely be a twist on the way Gwen died in the comics. Also, it would go back to the whole, Peter's life sucks, when things go great, something bad inevitably happens.
He then turns to the black suit and uses it to defeat Harry, most likely killing him. He learns about the revenge thing from Aunt May, and then goes out and redeems himself by getting rid of the suit and forgiving Sandman (for helping Harry). Keep the Eddie story the same, and just save him getting the suit for the end, that way if you want to do a 4th film, you now have a villain to focus. Plus, you are rid of Kirsten Dunst and get to go with Howard.
Okay, I guess that was a little bit longer than I intended. Anyways, I thought Kirsten and Tobey pretty much phoned it in. They sucked. The dance scene was absolutely retarded. Why would you introduce Gwen for that scene? She played too important role in Peter's life to just gloss over her.
Peter walking around NYC being all creepy was just idiotic. I was uncomfortable watching it. Well needless to say, stupid stuff like that annoyed me.
There were other things that bothered me, like Peter just letting Sandman go, even though he was a criminal (wasn't letting a criminal just walk free what got Uncle Ben killed to begin with?)
Anyways, I would say: A-/B+

Lost: Episode 320
Again, an episode that adds depth to a villain, and this time it is Ben. I will start with the flashback today.
Flashback
It starts with a man picking up his wife, who just gave birth, and running out to the road, a sign says it is near Portland. A car stops and picks them up, but the woman dies and she says to name the baby, Benjamin.
A few years later, Roger and Ben are coming to the island, at the invite of the man who picked them up earlier. Roger is pissed that he is to be a janitor, he is the Roger Work Man that Hurley found in the van.
From early on, Roger resents Ben, telling him that it is his fault that they are on the island and that his mother is dead. One night Ben runs outside and sees his mother outside the fence. Later he disables the fence and goes out into the jungle, and runs into Richard.
He tells Richard about his mom and how he saw her, and then says he wants to join Richard's "hostiles", which the DHARMA Initiative are fighting against. Richard says to be patient.
We fastforward a few years, and Ben is grown up, and he and Roger go out for a beer to celebrate Ben's birthday. They sit in the van, and Ben pulls a gasmask out and uses a nerve gas canister on his own father. He leaves him in the van that Hurley found.
When he returns to camp, everyone is dead, and Richard and the hostiles come out to clean up the bodies.
Locke/Ben
Locke brings the body of his father to Ben, and demands to know about the island. Ben tells him about Jacob, who gives his orders to Ben. Locke does not believe there is a Jacob, but instead Ben is the man behind the curtain.
Mikhail comes and tells everyone about Naomi, Ben wants to raid the Losties camp now, but Locke beats the crap out of Mikhail and says they are going to see Jacob. When they get there, it is nothing more than a rundown old house, without electricity. They go inside and Ben is talking to nothing, save for an old chair. Locke thinks that Ben is crazy, until the house starts to shake, and he hears a voice that says "Help me." He runs from the house and Ben wants to know what he heard. They begin to return home, but Locke realizes that they are going another way. Ben says he wants to show him something.
They get to a pit, where all the DHARMA people were dumped. Ben tells Locke that he was not born on the island, but that he was smart enough not to end up in the pit, unlike John. When Locke turns around, Ben shoots him in the stomach and he falls into the pit. Ben asks what Jacob said, and Locke tells him.
Lost Camp
Sawyer tells Sayid about the tape. Kate explains that she told Jack about Naomi. They hold a big meeting. Juliet says to turn the tape over and they hear about the plans for an attack. Jack says that Juliet told him about what Ben was making her do, and that maybe it was time for them to start giving everyone else some answers.
Sorry, I am running out of time at the library. Anyways, let me know what you think about everything, especially Ben? He is an interesting character. Also, there is an excellent article in Wizard about Tim Kring (Heroes creator) and Damon Lindolf (Lost creator, or whatever he is).

Heroes Part Twenty-One
This was a bit of a slow episode, but still entertained the hell out of me. I will do a breakdown of the characters, what they did and then let you know how I think the final two episodes will pan out.
Sylar/Hiro & Ando
He is at Isaac's place painting the future and he thinks he will be the one to blow up NYC. He calls Suresh and tells him that he does not want to hurt innocent people, that he did not mind hurting others with abilities because it was natural selection, but that he did not want to be a mass murderer. Interesting, we see that Sylar is a bit of a complex character, not just a monster.
Hiro and Ando come to the apartment to talk with Isaac, but find him dead. When Sylar comes out of the bathroom, they hide, but he can hear them. When he comes at them, Hiro teleports them. They begin to follow Sylar, and he goes to his mother's house.
She is a weird a woman, who thinks that Sylar is special and that he should be something important, not just a watch repairman. Sylar then tells her that he is special, and takes the hose from the sink and shoots it in the air, freezing the water into snow, making the apartment look like a snow globe, which his mother loves. He loses control and the globes begin to fly into the air and break, the glass cuts his mother. She runs away from him. As he tries to apologize through the door, Ando tells Hiro he must kill him now.
Hiro says that he cannot, not while he is asking forgiveness. Ando says that future-Hiro would have no problem doing it, but Hiro says that his future self killed too easily, that maybe he should have thought about it more. Then Ando tells Hiro that Sylar will kill Ando.
At this time, Sylar is telling her how he may kill everyone in the city, and that he could be president, she comes out and tells him to leave and then tries to stab him with a pair of scissors. He stops her, but accidently stabs her in the process and she dies. Hiro stops time and comes in to kill Sylar, but he cannot do it. Sylar tells Hiro to kill him, but when he sees that Hiro cannot do it, he calls him a coward and grabs the sword, freezing the blade, which allows him to break it. Ando runs in, and Hiro grabs him and they teleport away.
Peter/Claire/Nathan
Claire is going to leave for Paris, but Peter wants her to stay, he believes that he needs her to stop the bomb. He shows her a picture he painted and she recognizes Teddy. They tell Nathan, who says he will call the FBI, but instead talks to Linderman, and later we see Nathan talking with Thompson, who says that the bomb must go off and that Nathan will win the election.
Peter gives Claire a gun and says that when the time comes, if he goes out of control she must put a bullet in the spot where the glass was at. She is the only one who can get close enough to stop him. At the end of the episode, Claire and Peter are outside the building where it happens, and Teddy, Matt, and Mr.B come walking up. Claire and her dad hug, and then Peter's hands start to glow orange, he freaks out and then starts to control it.
Nathan's mom tells him that she knows all about him and that she and Linderman, and some others have worked very hard for this moment to happen and that only a strong person like Nathan can heal the world after the bomb goes off.
Jessica/DL/Micah
They are starting to tie in, and it makes me happy. Jessica and DL decide to go after Micah, and they break into Linderman's Vegas pad, but no one is there. They realize that Linderman has information on all three of them and their powers. Jessica thinks they have Micah in NYC.
In NYC, Micah and Candice are chillin' and he gets a bit sassy about how he does not like Linderman and wants to go home. Candice (as Nikki, wow, it's great when someone impersonates a split personality) says that they need to help Linderman. Once she gets a shower, Micah makes a run for it, but everytime he goes out the door, he comes back into the room.
Candice comes out and says that she can make Micah see anything she wants him to see (I guess that settles the debate). She says that she likes him, but that he better help Linderman or she will have to hurt him. I wonder, and maybe Gideon will have thought about this, if Micah could somehow use his powers to talk to the security camera's and find out what is real and what is not real? Or do her powers manipulate reality? Hmm, fun stuff to think about.
Suresh/Molly
After Suresh talks to Sylar, he calls Thompson. They meet and Suresh says he wants them to work for him in catching Sylar. He wants to know everything they know. Thompson agrees and introduces him to Molly Walker (the little girl that Parkman saved). She has the power to stop Sylar, but she has a disease that prevents her from using her power.
Thompson says that a little girl in India had the same disease, Mohinder's sister. After some time with Molly, Mohinder realizes where the cure is and that he himself was the cure to saving his sister. He had the healthy antibodies she needed, but he was born too late. He saves Molly, and also gains a little friend, it was very cute.
Theory
We have seen the future, and it does not look good. So this is what I think will happen, Nathan will help stop "the bomb." He will forsake becoming the president and all that. New York City will be saved. Nathan may die saving the city, who knows.
I do not believe Sylar will die, I think he gets away. I think that season two will be Peter, Claire, Mohinder and Molly, tracking other heroes and fighting Sylar before he grows too powerful.
Okay, I know it's not much of a theory, but whatever. Let's hear some of yours then.

Demons
This is a serious post, so if you do not want to read it, then by all means, skip it.
Last Sunday I got drunk and did something really bad. I do not want to go into specifics, but would rather talk about where I plan to go from here. First thing is, I am quitting drinking, I am looking into AA and have an appointment with a neurologist/psychiatrist.
Why the medical help? Well, the nurse from my insurance company says it sounds like I have a chemical imbalance which causes me to blackout when I drink. I also need to talk about things, I mean, I tend to bottle things up and then when I am drunk, like really drunk, they explode out of me, and I tend to hurt the people I love. So I need to get help, because I am absolutely tired of hurting people, physically and emotionally.
Anyways, do not think this means I will no longer have fun, it just means I will no longer be drinking. I can definitely have fun without alcohol. Hopefully everyone out there can be understanding of that.

Fantasy Baseball Week 5
I got beat this week, 3-7-2, by Offord. It sucks, I dropped to 3rd place, but I am only one game out, so I can regain that. The score looks like a got beat pretty good, but in truth, the final stats were actually pretty close. My team played rather well, except for pitching, but if my hitters can keep up what they are doing, I should not lose very often.
This week I take on AnchormanForReal. He is in last place. I should be able to win easily. I am still entertain trades for one of my 2Bs, but I do not want someone like Darrin Erstad or to give up one of my few relievers.

Lost: Episode 319
I do not know if anyone has noticed this, but Brian K. Vaughn has been listed as executive story editor or something like that, and I can definitely see his influence. The last few episodes have definitely had more focus. This episode also did not really have a flashback, it had the main stuff and then stuff that happened starting 8 days ago, which I guess is a flashback, but not our normal flashback.
Sawyer/Locke
Eight days ago, Locke is staring at his father with Ben and Richard. They say he came from the "magic box." As Locke assimilates with the group, Ben tells him that he is special because Ben has already begun to regain feeling in his legs. However, in order for John to truly be one of them, he must kill his father. Locke is unable to, and he is shunned from the group. Later, Richard comes to him and says that is Ben being an idiot and that the Others finally have hope because of John. He gives Locke a file about Sawyer and says that he will kill Locke's dad.
One night while Sawyer is out taking a leak, Locke comes to him and says that he wants him to come kill Ben. The trek through the jungle, and Sawyer explains that he will not kill Ben, but Locke says he will after he hears what Ben has to say. As they travel together, Locke tells Sawyer about the file, and about how it must have been hard for James to watch his father kill his mother and then himself.
They get to the old slave ship, the Black Rock, and Locke traps Sawyer in a room with Ben, but when Sawyer takes the hood off, it is actually Locke's dad. Sawyer asks how he got to the island and Locke's dad says that he was driving, got into an accident, and then everything went black, and next thing he knows, he is trapped in a room and he is tied up. Next thing he knows, his son, who he pushed out a window and who died, comes walking into the room. Sawyer asks if the push killed him, and he says no, it paralyzed him. He says that Locke died on a flight from Sydney. Sawyer does not believe him, but then learns that they found everyone's body a few weeks ago at the bottom of the ocean.
They continue to talk and Sawyer figures out that Locke's dad was the one who conned his family, and got his parents killed. He makes him read the letter, which the old man starts to mock and tears it up. Sawyer then chokes him to death. Locke lets Sawyer go, but first tells him that Juliet is a spy for Ben, and gives him the tape recorder to prove it. He says there will be another raid in 3 nights. Locke leaves to follow the Others with the body.
Rest of the Group
Jin, Hurley, Desmond, and Charlie bring Naomi back, but keep her hidden. They bring in Sayid and he learns some disturbing news. She was part of a company searching for Desmond, she had coordinates in the middle of the ocean, and one day she was flying in the chopper when the clouds parted and the island was just there. Her helicopter then crashed. She tells them that they had found the wreckage of Flight 815 a few days ago and that all the bodies had been found as well. Sayid takes her sat-phone and starts working on it. Kate sees it and they bring her in on it, but they do not want Jack to know.
Later Kate goes to Jack, who is with Juliet and says she wants to talk alone, but Jack says that anything meant for him can be said in front of Juliet. Kate gets upset and says that they found a girl, but that no one wanted to tell Jack because they do not trust him. Naomi may have a way to be rescued. Juliet starts to tell Jack that maybe they should tell Kate, but Jack says "No, not yet." And then he wants to see Naomi and the phone.
The theory that they are stuck in some Purgatory is starting to fit more and more, but it has many holes. If anyone has theories, let me know.

It took awhile for me to watch this one, but it was finally an episode that I did not feel bored watching. Even the White House stuff was interesting.
Mike takes Jack and Audrey back to CTU, where a shrink wants to pump Audrey full of drugs to make her talk. Mike disagrees with this, and lets Jack loose, who then goes and kidnaps Audrey. After awhile together, she finally says something and it turns out to be a lead in finding Chang. Over at DC Universe, he makes a good point about CTU guards, there main job is basically getting punched in the face by Jack.
It turns out that Lisa, the cute aide to Noah, was sleeping with some lobbyist who works for the Russians. He found out about the circuit board, and now the Russians know and are threatening war. VP Noah gets my respect for threatening Lisa with high treason and tells her that she will spend the rest of her life in solitary if she ever thinks about using their relationship to hurt him. When Tom asks if he is okay, Noah responds "I am now."
Audrey's dad comes to get her and stops to see Jack. He tells Jack that he is cursed and that everyone around him dies. I would love to see those two fight. When you think about it, Heller has been a complete dick to Jack, who risks his life to save Heller and Audrey. How does Heller respond? The next season when Jack figures out that the president is the evil bastard, Heller wants to blackmail him and almost has Jack killed. Dick.
Does anyone think that the Chinese seem to have been way too involved in all of this? I mean seriously. They knew that the Russian general was going to give nukes to the Arabs, that the Arab would want Jack, that CTU would get Jack, then give him to the terrorists, Jack would escape, disarm the bombs, and then they could use Audrey as bait??? What the hell man, Chinese intelligence must be absolutely amazing.

Heroes Part Twenty
I watched this live from Philipsburg last night with my brother. The episode was set five years into the future and focused on Hiro and Ando, and what everyone else has become.
It turns out that Syler was the bomb that destroyed NYC. Nathan becomes president and starts arresting anyone with powers. Once Suresh tells him they cannot be cured, Nathan wants them to be killed.
Parkman and the Haitian work for Homeland Security, and they are trying to arrest Hiro, who is considered a terrorist. Parkman gets now-Hiro, but future-Hiro and Ando get away. They visit Peter in Vegas who is now dating Nikki, who lost Micah and DL, but also Jessica as well. Peter has his kickass scar.
Mr.Bennett is helping people with powers start new lives and Parkman knows about it, but lets him do it, so that Mr.B will tell him about really dangerous ones. After Parkman fails to capture Hiro, he forces Mr.B to tell him where Claire is living. He arrests her and takes her to Nathan.
They argue a bit, and then Nathan says something weird about how everything was complete after he met Candice and then Claire is forcibly stopped and she turns around. Nathan shimmers and becoms Syler. He cuts her head open and now he is all powerful.
Later, future-Hiro, Peter, and Ando storm the building where present-Hiro is being held. Peter and Hiro are so badass. Suresh kills the Haitian because he wants Hiro to go back and kill Syler.
Future-Hiro gets shot, and Nathan shows up and starts to fight Peter, but Peter knows something is weird because Nathan used DLs powers. Nathan turns into Syler, and says that he was upset that everyone blames him for the bomb, when in reality it was Peter. They start to fight, Peter's hands turn red and get all fiery and Syler's turn blue and get all icy. Or was it the other way around? Oh well, not important.
Hiro and Ando return to the present and Hiro knows he now must kill Syler to stop everything.
Let me know what you guys thought. There were all sorts of other little things in this episode.
