Vantage Point

Saturday night I went to see Vantage Point by myself before work. Wow, that sounds so absolutely pathetic. Anyways, let me say that this was the third time in my life I have went to the movies alone. The first: I moved back to my mom's for the summer between my first and second year at Gannon and decided to walk over to the crappy theater in Philipsburg to see Gladiator, which I had already seen once and wanted to see it again. The second time: I went to Johnstown with my dad to do canvasing while he was at a sales appointment. After walking around Johnstown for like 6 hours asking people if they were interested in a sun-room, I decided to quit. Unfortunately my dad had another appointment and they usually last like 3 hours, so I went to see Insomnia, that sucked because I was pretty much the only person alone in the place.

This experience was not so bad, no one noticed I was alone, which did not really bother me as much as I thought it would. Granted, I did walk in as the previews just ended and the movie was about to start (great timing).

The movie was pretty good. Nothing outstanding, but nothing horrible. It's one of those movies that I would never buy, but I would probably watch it multiple times on HBO (especially if I kept catching it at different points)...

I will complain about the people at the theater. The movie is called VANTAGE Point, it is about different peoples VANTAGE points during a presidential assassination. One of the creative things about the movie is once one of these points ends, they rewind and go to a black screen which says the time (and it is the same time throughout)...I heard like five different people say things like this:

"Oh my god, are they going to keep doing that?"
"What is the point of this? Can't they just tell us who killed the president?"
"I am confused."

You get the picture. Mostly from high school girls who kept getting up every three seconds and walking out and then coming back into the theater. I understand that there is absolutely nothing to do on a Saturday night in Cranberry if you are 17, but do NOT ruin my movie going experience. If you want to hang out with your friends, why bother buying a ticket? Just stand up at the few video games they have and pretend you are at an arcade.

If I have kids (not bloody likely), and I find out they behave this way...I swear to God (or maybe the Tooth Fairy) that I will hire a $260 hitman to put tiny bullets into their tiny, retarded brains.
