Well as the year comes to a close, I figured I would write a recap of what happened this year.
January
-Started working at Quaker Steak and Lube, thought it would be a great idea, boy was I wrong.
-Watched as the Steelers won throughout the playoffs...
-Penn State=Orange Bowl Champs, got drunk with my Mom, Harmon, and Kacie, and everyone else at Mom's place.
-Sat there hungover watching Texas beat USC
-Made my baseball predictions on my livejournal. I nailed some divisions, was way off in others.
February
-I was pretty much miserable all throughout February. Missed the way things used to be.
-Steelers win the Superbowl!
-I start getting hopeful about the Pirates.
-My car starts giving me problems.
-I almost quit Eat 'n Park because of Kristin.
-Kacie and I celebrate our 1 year anniversary!
March
-I quit Quaker Steak
-I start inquiring about getting a softball team into the Park & Rec League
-I really do not remember much of March, haha.
April
-Baseball season starts. The Pirates suck.
-Softball team starts out, we also suck.
-Eat 'n Park blows, I make the comment on livejournal: "even the smiley cookies hate it there. They have to fake that smile." Classic.
-Movie I remember seeing: Thank You For Smoking
May
-Wow, May was a rough month
-My car gets repossessed
-I begin referring to Kristin as cuntface.
-Movies: Art School Confidential, X3, Da Vinci Code
-Jason Bay is really really good this month.
June
-Superman Returns
-My cousin Tim's wedding. I thought it would suck, but Kacie and I had a great time. My family absolutely loved Kacie.
-I reread Invisibles by Grant Morrison. It blows my mind more than the first time.
July
-All Star game in Pittsburgh, not much to say, except that Freddie Sanchez got a great ovation from the fans.
-Pirates really suck by the way.
-I get into fights with friends at work, go weeks without speaking, but then apologize.
-I think Gideon and Allison came up this month and we had a lot of fun.
-Movies: Scanner Darkly, Pirates of the Caribbean II, You Me and Dupree, Clerks II
August
-Kacie turns 21!!!
-We move into our apartment together.
-I write my last livejournal.
-Softball ends, we sucked, but I discover that James is pretty much amazing.
-Movies: Talladega Nights
September
-This blog premieres! There is much rejoicing.
-Heroes begins, I blog about it and everyone reads it.
October
-I turn 26.
-I write lots of stuff about Heroes and Lost.
-Halloween party at Karen's on October 5th. Darby and I prove we can drink till the wee hours of the morning.
-Halloween party at Stef and Ryan's. Darby and I prove we can drink till the wee hours of the morning...
-Mets lose in the playoffs, James is not happy.
-Cardinals win World Series.
-Steelers suck.
November
-Thanksgiving was cool. Played lots of Hold 'em with our familiy, Adam and I decide they are pretty bad at it.
-Borat rocks!
-I do not remember much of November, I must have blocked it out.
December
-My grandmother dies.
-Eragon premiers and pretty much sucks.
-Christmas is awesome, I get lots of cool stuff, especially my awesome surround system.
Obviously throughout the year there were many fun nights that I am forgetting about. But, this year did seem kind of weak. Especially movie-wise. I did not go to movies once I moved downtown. I need to change that.
Lets hope 2007 is much more fun!

Lost News
I know many of you are dying for Lost to start back up, if for anything so I will have something to write about, but I figured I would share this little piece of news I heard.
Brian K. Vaughn has joined the Lost writing team. He is one of my favorite writers in comics today and whatever he does is pretty much golden: Ex Machina, Y: The Last Man, Runaways, and Pride of Baghdad.
You can read his official release here.

Comic of the Week: Ex Machina #25
I am going to steal this idea from the DC Universe, but I probably will not do one every week, since most of you who read my blog, do not read comics.
Anyways, Ex Machina is a story of a man, who becomes a superhero, but realizes that he is not doing enough good and decides to forsake his costumed identity and become the mayor of New York.
The book is written by Brian K. Vaughn and is easily one of the best titles written. What makes this issue so special is that it focuses on Bradbury, the Mayors friend and bodyguard.
It begins with Bradbury having an assassin put a gun to his head and basically tell him he will shoot him so he can get to Mayor Hundred. Bradbury's life begins to flash before him, and we see what motivates him. He believes in Hundred, not because he owes him anything or because he is his sidekick, but instead, he is his friend.
Anyways, if you wanted to get into this award-winning book, this would be a great issue to jump on at.
Favorite Line: "Which is why he called his buddies in the CIA, FBI, NSA, NYPD, and more acronyms than a bowl of fucking alphabet soup..."

Annoyed No Longer
I have cleared what was previously written here. I apologize to anyone that I hurt for my childish behavior. I did not create this to attack people or to complain about my life. This is mainly for everyone to discuss different movies, shows, sports, and whatever random things amuse me.

1 Part Brave, 3 Parts Foolish
Let me first say that when I heard they were making a movie Eragon, I assumed they were taking the Lord of the Rings or Chronicles of Narnia route. I figured they would try to stick as close to the original text as possible, but alas I was quite wrong.
If you are a fan of the book, you will probably hate the movie. The first problem is the length of the movie. I was expecting two and a half hours, not 108 minutes or whatever it was. I understood the need to cut out some things, I am usually fine with that. In fact, I am usually the first person who says you should not compare movies to books. But, this movie ignored most of the major things from the book, not just the little things. For example, the Urgals in the books are monsteresque. They are big, black, and have giant horns. It was like Fox did not want to fork out the money for a makeup crew.
I will not go into the entire differences between movie and book, but I will say one of the things I really like was the chick who played Arya. In the book, I never got the impression she was hot (maybe it was her icy personality, she is an elf afterall), but in the movie, well let me just say "Damn!"
This movie would be good to take children or even a chick, especially if they have not read the book. They will find the young Sapphira to be supercute and will probably prompt you to try and buy them a dragon.

Weekend WrapUp
Did anything happen this weekend? I honestly cannot think of anything. Well work pretty much sucked. I made some good money, but we were on too many servers and everyone was kind of cranky.
Last night Kacie and I went over to Allen Street Grille after she finished up at Chili's. She and I had some drinks, and I even tried some wine, eh still not sold on wine yet.
Today I went out and bought a suit for my grandmother's funeral. I guess she has a few weeks to live and Mom wanted me to get a suit. I will try to put it on and toss a picture up on here of it, it definitely looks sweet.
This weekend was a sports nightmare. Nothing to really watch, oh wait the Cowboys got destroyed, so that was great. Especially since Ashley at work is a big Dallas fan, and by big, I mean one of those fans who knows nothing about sports and just says random stupid things.
This coming week should be crappy for TV. No Heroes, no Lost, just Smallville, but I may start TiVoing House and Bones. I doubt I will write about them.

Smallville Is Gonna Rock
So the last few weeks of Smallville have been pretty boring. Usually the only thing that gets me excited are the endings which show how evil Lex is becoming, or has already become.
Tonight's episode was horrible. It was about illegal immigrants and how Clark cannot solve the world's problems, blah blah blah. But, the ending was where it was at. There was a preview of upcoming weeks, Green Arrow telling Clark that Lex is assembling an army, and they need one of their own. We see Vic Stone, Bart Allen, and Arthur Curry rejoining with Clark and his new partner Oliver Queen to form what will be the first Justice League in Smallville! Oddly enough, not a team I would have expected, Cyborg, Impulse (although he is now Flash), and Aquaman.
What would be awesome, is if the end of the season ends with the massive battle we all expect, and then as someone says different corporations are dismantling LuthorCorp, a jet lands and a cocky young man gets out and says hi to Ollie, and Ollie looks back and says, "hi Bruce." That could finally be our first introduction to Bruce Wayne...okay wow, I am great at writing an awesome ending to this season.
Anyways, I know none of you will care about this, but I am excited.

I figured you guys could use some help with my Christmas presents this year. Here is a nice list of things I want.
-Superman Boxset, but I think Kacie is getting it for me.

-Surround Sound, my mom is getting me that, anyone have a suggestion on which one I should get?
-24 season 5 boxset
-Arrested Development Seasons 1 and 3, I have season 2
-Here are some comics I'd like, not all, but a few:
-Torso by Brian Michael Bendis
-Jinx, also by BMB
-Bone: One Volume Collection
-Ghost World by Daniel Clowes
-I will list more later
-Later is now!!
-Daredevil: Yellow
-Death: The High Cost of Living
-Stardust by Neil Gaiman
-George R.R. Martin's books, A Song of Fire and Ice series.
-The Steelers reebok hoodie, the one from the commercial...size medium

Also, I could use some ideas for Kacie and my brother.

Heroes Part Eleven
Damn it! Why do I have to wait until January 22nd??? I am not planning on making this post as long as the previous ones.
We learned that Mr. Bennett is pretty much a dick. Claire admits her powers to him and he in turn admits knowing long before she does. He erases her brothers memory and Zach's memory. That was by far one of the sadder moments in the show, Zach no longer remembering their newfound friendship. Mr. Bennett also uses the Haitian at the police station when they are interviewed by Matt and Audrey. The Haitian's power seems to be blocking out different mind powers.
Matt's encounter with Peter was interesting, but definitely not what I had expected. Peter pretty much was freaked out and did not seem to understand what was happening. Claire came to visit Peter, and I think we can see a definite spark between them. She learned that he also has powers, and that he did not know he could heal when he fell. She tells him that he is her hero.
Nathan helps get Peter out of jail, and like always acts like a jerk to Peter. Peter explains his powers to Nathan and then he collapses, which during the entire episode Peter looked like he was going to pass out. Peter has a vision, and it is he who destroys the city, he was the guy in Isaac's painting of a guy going up in flames. I have a theory about that, but it will have to be in a little bit.
Eden comes to Isaac and tells him that she is leaving, she gives him a phone, and with it he gets ahold of Hiro. They meet in Texas and Isaac immediately believes Hiro because of the comic book he brought from the future. Isaac realizes he can paint the future when not on heroin and begins painting.
Mohinder arrives in NYC and gets a call from Eden, she says she lied to him and needs to explain everything to him. She then goes to Sylar and uses her power to make him try and kill himself, but he destroys the glass and grabs her. Instead of shooting him, which he says will not work on him, she shoots herself, ending the life of my favorite hottie on the show.
I will not even bother mentioning DL/Micah/Jessica. They were not interesting.
Claire calls her dad and explains that everyone had their minds erased. He says he will be there right away and then the Haitian walked in and told her that he was supposed to erase her memory. That he erased her mother's mind all the time, but that he was not going to erase Claire's and that she would have to keep a secret. So the Haitian has his own agenda, doesn't everyone these days?
One of the other cute moments in the show was when Audrey and Matt were on the stakeout and she thinks he is kind of cute. They joke about it, but then they see Mr. Bennett and the Haitian coming out of the building, and Matt tries to hear their thoughts. He concentrates like mad and his nose starts to bleed, but he hears one word: Sylar.
So anyways, here are some of my theories: Peter at some point, will come into contact with Teddy Sprague, or someone with a similar power. As we have seen, it is hard for Peter to control his new powers, and he could inadvertently destroy the city.
Sylar is out and really pissed off. He pretty much hates Mr. Bennett, especially after Mr. Bennett constantly taunted him. Sylar is going to go after Claire and hopefully Peter will be there to protect her.
Well that is all this week, let me know what you thought, we have a few weeks to discuss it. This blog will pretty much suck without Lost and Heroes for awhile.
